00:00Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Besessa says this country is not a target of war to anyone.
00:05She spoke in Tobago on Tuesday afternoon as she made several announcements for the people of Tobago.
00:10She spoke with reporters outside the Assembly Chamber.
00:15There is no war. TNT is not a target.
00:20The targets are narco-traffickers, gun runners, human traffickers.
00:26Those are our targets. And you have seen some of my interviews I gave, some responses I gave to the media,
00:32is carrying some of them, showing that there has been the drug decrease in Trinidad, the prices for the narcos.
00:40Prices increasing because why? Because we are hitting them out the way it goes the most, in their pockets.
00:47Speaking on another matter, the Prime Minister said there is no intention by her government
00:51to leave our brothers and sisters in CARICOM.
00:54Someone is saying that you are trying to separate from CARICOM and have...
00:59Nothing is further from the truth. Nothing is further from the truth.
01:04We remain members of the CARICOM.
01:08I have no intention, as the Prime Minister of our country and the head of my government, of leaving CARICOM.
01:14So there is always some mischief there.
01:17What I did say and I repeat is we must also look to others.
01:20We have to look to others in the international arena.
01:23So, for example, we are looking to the UAE, we are looking to Qatar, we are looking to Bahrain, we are looking to Europe.
01:31We cannot keep closed doors and expect things to change.
01:34So CARICOM will remain as a bloc, we will remain as part of the bloc, but we have to open our wings, we have to fly.
01:40The Prime Minister also said there is no indication Tobago's tourism is being affected by alleged tensions between this country and Venezuela.
