00:08a little period of time where Cakes, we kind of doled out responsibilities, and Cakes'
00:14responsibility was to contact teams in sports and ask them for jerseys, essentially, to

00:28We got ties from the Trailblazers, but we also randomly got a warm-up jacket, I believe,

00:35The warm-up jacket, it was a shooting shirt from, I believe, the Lakers.

00:48The reason why I'm bringing that up is a warm-up jacket worn by Wilt Chamberlain was discovered,
00:57found in Portland, Oregon, at a Goodwill store, sold for $89,600.

01:57Quinn Brown, 19 years old, has resold thousands of items online over the years, most for less
02:02than $20.
02:03But earlier this year, going through the bins at a Goodwill near Portland, Oregon, he
02:08noticed this.
02:08Somehow or another, NBA great Wilt Chamberlain's Lakers warm-up jacket from the 72 NBA Finals
02:15had ended up for sale in Oregon for $3.07.

02:22The really key moment for me was I was in my room, and I looked at the measurements of
02:28the jacket.
02:28Wilt Chamberlain being 7'1", the jacket measured 33 inches long, so it would have gone down almost
02:34to my knees.
02:34I looked at it, and it matched up.
02:36Smart kid, when Brown posted his discovery online, Sotheby's reached out, helped with
02:42the forensic investigation matching the stitches on the jacket to old pictures of it, and then
02:47put it up for auction.
02:48And that $3 thrift store fine just sold for nearly $90,000, putting the jacket into the
02:56pantheon of bargain fines, including a Declaration of Independence copy found at a flea market.
03:02And this 1,000-year-old Chinese bull sold at a garage sale, both worth millions, by the
03:07way.
03:07As for Brown, he says he plans to put most of his windfall into savings, but also celebrate
03:13by taking what he calls a cheap vacation to Vietnam.
