00:08um and there's there's uh the athletic director there is something we talked about last week
00:16when he came out and went on wtka place i used to work years ago uh to address all this

00:27gonna guess was true and that was as long as he was employed he was putting on the good public

00:37about i will be here you know blah blah blah he kind of left it open-ended but it wasn't

00:45me the way he worded things and it reminds me a little bit about it felt a little bit like
00:54he was giving himself the public endorsement um him being in charge but he also said we've always
01:01we talk about my future all the time which felt to me like something that i've said about you're
01:08behind somebody even while you're considering not being behind him or planning not being behind him
01:14so that they that person can continue to do whatever job they are doing until
01:21an announcement is made or you finalize things you know and we talk when when when an athletic
01:28director or an owner in pro sports gives a public uh you know they come out and endorse somebody and
01:36say they're no they're my they're our guy when they're embattled if you say anything else you
01:42undermine their chance to do a job while they're still on the job and so i speculated last week that
01:48it wouldn't shock me if there were still things going on behind the scene in spite of what he
01:54said um and what he said publicly now with that said i i gotta tell you that this conclusion
02:03there's two things about it one is if you're ward manual and you're like look i you know i have

02:12explanation for a lot of what happened here um but i'm becoming a distraction and i know he loves the
02:20place but you know at the very least when you know that you even if they haven't come forward with
02:29fireable offenses cause for termination in this report you become you become a distraction where
02:36you're all anybody's talking about and you know what i really don't need to hear all that much from
02:41the athletic director i don't need to hear much about the athletic director they have a job to do
02:47it's incredibly important but it's about the coaches it's about the student athletes it's about the games
02:54and too many brush fires and bigger fires that ultimately you know got to a point where i'm not
03:05surprised at all if this is a mutual decision and people are going to yell from mountaintops you
03:11should be fired well they were waiting for this report to come out in case they you know if you
03:16have a reason to fire somebody for cause if you don't follow all the proper procedures the people
03:21you fire can sue you and i can guarantee that michigan didn't want any anything to do with that
03:28um but this also kind of gets to a point which excites i think should excite the fan base
03:36in that it gets back to now hey practice starts in a couple of weeks new coach clean slate a
03:47coach that
03:47has operated with less nonsense than many programs and less nonsense than michigan has had
03:56and get back to the business of just being about the football you know when when and i i love
04:03the
04:04hire of kyle whittingham i felt like michigan needed a rudder in their program michigan needed a
04:13uh michigan needed somebody that was going to stop with ridiculous nonsense which is just a massive
04:22distraction i mean because let's face it what what sharon moore is accused of doing was totally a
04:29fireable offense but it was an hr violation right i mean that was an hr violation which really doesn't
04:36have any impact on football it's just you in the in the building you can't do that in that workplace
04:41you
04:42can't do that there are rules but hr violations you know they're they get you fired but they aren't
04:50like hugely important in the grand scheme of things in terms of what happens on the field
04:55don't don't get me wrong it's a fireable offense but now now we can just focus on what's happening
05:01on the field and hopefully under kyle whittingham and the new ad it stays that way because i gotta tell
05:08you this is this is not fun to talk about and it's it can undermine the credibility of a department
05:17and at the end of the day they got to get the president in order and the president should be
05:24the one that's making the new hire and there should be total alignment and these recommendations from
05:31jenner and block specifically on the follow-through and uh the oversight who is in charge of the
05:37oversight of specific people on the food chain there at the university of michigan the athletic department
05:43you gotta tighten the ship tighten the ship and get the people in alignment and so you need uh
05:53you need that first step the first step is getting the president hired and locked up and then that
06:01president can go out and they can what you hope make a home run higher that's you know you can
06:08move
06:08forward and be better for it whittingham's great whittingham's awesome whittingham has been out
06:16there playing big 10 football in the mountain west and then the pac-12 for a long time it's been

06:22nonsense than in many programs i mean nobody's perfect you got a lot of people that are they're in a
06:27department they're going to be mistakes made but quiet stuff down around the football program quiet stuff
06:35down around the athletic department because the chain of command there was messed up and now just about
06:42everybody involved in that pretty much is is no longer there so clean slate start starting him

07:56that they fully believe that scoobal will be part of this team the rest of the way
08:04if that's the case i hope the team's play justifies it i i think if scott harrison and ownership have
08:11already made that decision that is a massive mistake i am hoping that this team goes on a white hot

08:18that really justifies a buy to strengthen the resume and make a push this year that scoobal's lane is
08:24running out there are probably others that are running out like labor torres however uh it strikes
08:31me that if they've already that i probably have a different expectation than the tigers organization
08:37does i think the the no-brainer you're good let's let's make a push for it as 12 and 4
08:42in the 16 games
08:44since the all-star break and they're two and one so far i predicted last week that i think they're
08:48going to go eight and eight uh camera if it was eight and eight or nine and seven which to
08:53me wasn't
08:53good enough and it started with a prediction of them going two and one in the trip to the angels
08:59and then one and two in this cub series and they kind of got a problem in that they had
09:05to have a
09:05pretty big bullpen day yesterday and they got flarity going tonight and boy do they need flarity to be
09:09good flarity uh because that bullpen is draining but if if they get on this run i i have no
09:18problem
09:18with keeping scuble but i do have a problem if they keep scuble and don't strengthen the resume
09:25and a major publication put out a list of available players that could make sense in detroit we will get
09:31to that before the hour is done there's like a four names of players that could be available from
09:35sellers that i think could help bolster this tiger team along with any relief pitcher they can find
09:42but i'm talking about four bats that are apparently on the block and could be available
09:50that are coming from seller teams that make sense in detroit we'll get to that today coming up after
