00:18anderson gator it's been a long long long time i realized last night since i had watched some
00:25ready set puke hockey and uh well i mean you think about especially west coast race at puke hockey
00:32right i mean that used to be sort of a rite of passage every spring for us is that there
00:36was
00:37going to be a series anaheim or san jose calgary edmonton somebody yeah there was one of these
00:43it's going to be a seven game series a six game series against some teams out on the west coast
00:49and we're going to have a six overtime game against the ducks a weeknight where we're just
00:53a game that won't end overtime hockey which has no commercial so overtimes they don't fly by they
01:00don't fly by but they certainly move quicker and yeah and i was standing there i was trying to think
01:06back were any of the tigers mariners playoff games last year late starts here uh was it 15 million game
01:18i mean it wasn't i don't think it wasn't like a 10 o'clock game but neither was last night's
01:22hockey
01:22game last night's hockey was at nine o'clock no but it started at 8 45 it's supposed to start
01:27at 8 30
01:27the first game ran a little long between nodak and wisconsin and go b1g rooting for the badgers uh
01:34but yeah 8 45 first start and our first uh puck drop first period and i and the weird thing
01:41was my
01:42memories of the the 15 inning game was that was the night before michigan played usc so i was watching
01:47and it was dark out in california by the time that game ended i went and found a bar sat
01:52down
01:52and watched it there you know what's crazy i think that was that was the weekend that the
01:59the college hockey season was opening on the tv next to it at michigan and providence and then
02:03last night michigan season ended and the frozen four like it always seems to do but i mean when's
02:08the last time you did that you had a ready set puke game yeah race a puke heart attack hock
02:13anything i mean it was a week ago or two weeks ago when michigan stayed you were up late oh

02:18sorry well you said yeah like maybe that's seattle mariners game uh i'd have to think i mean you see
02:28i'm i'm stupid some because i pay attention to even i i care i care a lot about the regular
02:33season
02:34games too so there'd be some red wing game that they played out west i probably cared about sure
02:37that i stayed up later tiger games in regular season i do that but i mean
02:43nothing that had the importance of you know getting to winner gets to play for the
02:48the national championship i mean that's been a while or winner gets a chance to move on the
02:54playoffs because every game is game seven in the college hockey tournament and so and yes michigan
02:59state went to overtime against wisconsin it's weird like michigan state has had a great team the
03:04last few years can't get to the frozen four michigan has been to 10 frozen fours since their last natty
03:11they're one and nine in the semifinals and overtime against denver felt like it was like we've seen
03:17this before um but yeah it was a late night and then i went and laid in bed and laid
03:23in bed and
03:24laid in bed late in bed next thing i know it was 350 in the morning and i'm like i
03:27am still not asleep
03:28but that's a whole bunch of other things on the mind so the game the 15 inning game against seattle
03:34was an eight o'clock start um i'm trying to see if i can find out how long the game
03:41lasted five hours
03:42okay so that was that was that would be the last time i think we could we could say that
03:47but it was
03:47a friday night so i don't think anybody matters less yeah matters significantly less on a friday night
03:52but in some ways i realized last night i missed it i missed the it's approaching 1 a.m i'm
04:01watching
04:01an important game feeling and specifically in hockey and then this morning i realized i did not miss it
04:10no yeah the thing is it's like i love it and then you'll either continue to love it and then
04:18you'll wear
04:18like a badge of honor this morning if your team wins but when your team loses you're you're just
04:23miserable and that's and now for me last night because i didn't have you know any any dog in the
04:30fight there um although i was rooting for denver it's i didn't care as much so that's why i was
04:36able
04:36to you know what i missed i just watched the first overtime i'm going to bed i don't feel like
04:41staying up
04:42till two and watching this thing and and not really have it affect me other than i'm gonna be dead
04:47tired
04:47today i'm tired enough right so it didn't bother me as as much obviously it's going to bother people
04:53who they're fans of and and it's going to affect you completely if if michigan had won
04:58michigan fans would be walking around with a smile today they'd be holding their starbucks
05:03talking to everybody in the in the in the office holding cord oh i'm tired oh yeah i got a

05:09starbucks though you know i'm gonna i'm tired because you know people that get coffee they have to hold
05:14onto the cup up by their head so everybody sees that they went out and spent six dollars for a
05:19large-ass coffee what are your weird ass it's true i'm sorry am i am i wrong with that yes

05:26wrong with that the people are okay i don't think people prominently display their coffee look at me
05:31i'm drinking coffee hello do we need to put coffee drinkers on the list
05:41they might be on the list we don't do that today we'll consider it for later but yeah so some

05:47michigan's got this nightmare in the frozen four you know what's crazy there was this belief that
05:55when the big 10 formed they were going to run this thing how many national championships they got
06:01um none yeah none but they've got great teams yep it's fun i don't it's i'm okay they haven't won

06:12yet but i mean you can't argue michigan state michigan minnesota uh the these been wisconsin
06:19he's been great teams for a long long time and they're still they're all blue bloods it's good
06:25i like it um i'd like it more certainly if they would win a national championship but it's not
06:31i mean there is what it is there's a charm such a great tournament there is a charm to college
06:36hockey
06:36in that a school like denver okay name anything else about the university of denver can't name
06:43anything about minnesota duluth it's way up north it's way up there yep
06:49they got curlers i mean there's name anything about colorado college like it's it's part it's
06:56part of the charm of college hockey mercy um but you know like you said the blue bloods here
07:02and the big 10 no national championships no not yet but i think that they're they're learning this
07:08new landscape of hockey and i think they're going to end up taking it look they'll take advantage of
07:14it i think they're trying to figure it out still because there's still the recruiting
07:18the under 18 players and you know it's starting to spread out a little bit but i mean i was
07:26watching
07:27was the michigan michigan state wisconsin game and i think they had said that there were like 15
07:31draft picks on michigan state alone like that's insane how many you know how do you how are you not
07:37winning national championships well because guys leave after a year yeah well that's that's the thing
07:42and i mean it's so it's just they'll figure it out they're they're the great programs and they've
07:48got money to spend and you know i don't know how much money denver has to spend on the hockey
07:54program
07:55obviously do but if they're getting older players i find this one to be in the nil world denver doesn't
08:02have to support football my guess is the marquee sport there and i'm probably right is hockey and so
08:10their nil their big resources go to hockey so if you've got a big donor or you've got prominent
08:16alums you could probably whereas at a place like michigan or michigan state hockey is at best third
08:23yeah rpi is not worried about yep fielding a football team yep so anyway uh and that's called
08:29yeah and i you know i'm a mess today i'm exhausted um and so are the tigers so are the
08:37tigers we will
08:39watch the red wing game last night and i want to get your thoughts on that game and and your
08:46overriding feelings uh coming up at 10 30 we will do what we are going to do on a daily

08:52detroit lions draft news aggregated everything that's being reported today about the lions and the draft
08:56we will get to that today at 10 30 and put it all in one-stop shopping for you so
