Patriots offense looking elite? Could it be Top 10? Ranking TRIPLETS (QB, RB1, WR1)- Where does Maye, A.J. Brown and Stevenson rank in NFL
Can Drake Maye duplicate last season's production? Could his numbers even improve?? OVER/UNDERS are in! Who will have the better numbers Maye or Mahomes? More total TDs?

00:00So we've talked a lot about a crazy list season in the NFL.
00:04So I figure if we're going to talk,
00:06if we're going to call out all the bad, crazy lists,
00:08we should compliment the lists that are doing at least a decent job over here.
00:12And so CBS ranked the NFL triplets.
00:16So basically they took the quarterback running back and number one receiver of
00:21every NFL team and then rank them.
00:23Okay.
00:24Kind of liked it.
00:25The new England Patriots came into the top 10.
00:28They finished ninth in the rankings.
00:30That would be Drake may Ramondre Stevenson and AJ Brown ranked night ninth in
00:35terms of triplets in the NFL.
00:37Number one was like the bangles with burrow,
00:39chase Brown,
00:40Jamar chase,
00:41Matthew Stafford,
00:42Kyron Williams,
00:43Puka Nakua came in at two.
00:45Then it was the lions,
00:46Ravens,
00:46Cowboys,
00:47chiefs,
00:48bills,
00:49Niners.
00:50And then that's where the Patriots ranked in.
00:51So I think overall you're starting to see some people,
00:55not everybody,
00:56but some people start to respect what the Patriots have and what the Patriots
01:00are building.
01:01I think that this season,
01:03the schedule cannot be some kind of excuse.
01:06You play a more difficult schedule than last year.
01:09There's no question about that.
01:10But at the same time,
01:11your roster is straight up better than it was last year,
01:14especially in the offensive side of the ball,
01:15the defensive side,
01:16especially on the defensive line,
01:17you could maybe call into question.
01:19Is Draymond Jones actually going to be better than Caleb on chase on?
01:22And that's a,
01:22that's a question we need answered still,
01:24but I think offensively without a doubt,
01:26this team is better.
01:27They should be better.
01:28And they should continue to be one of the top 10 offenses in football.
01:33Remind me because it's been a while since the schedule came out.
01:38How many wins do you have them getting this season?
01:40I believe I have them at 11 wins.
01:4211.
01:43Yeah.
01:44Where were you,
01:44Wiggy?
01:45I was a 10 plus.
01:46Okay.
01:47Curtis.
01:48Oh God.
01:49I think I was at about 10.
01:51Okay.
01:51And where were you?
01:53I,
01:53you may not have been on the show when we did this.
01:56I,
01:56I would say that I was probably at 10 before AJ Brown.
02:00I'd say 11 now.
02:02Ooh.
02:02Yeah.
02:03I think he's good for a win.
02:04Yeah.
02:04I agree with you on that one.
02:06Yeah.
02:06I agree.
02:06I agree with you on that one.
02:07I think you look at the team.
02:08I,
02:09I,
02:09I,
02:09I,
02:09I,
02:09I,
02:10I,
02:10I,
02:11I,
02:17I was just looking at it again this morning and thinking about,
02:20cause I want to write a list ranking easiest to hardest games.
02:24And I was like,
02:25man,
02:25some of these games are harder than I thought when I,
02:28when I originally the schedule came out.
02:30I mean,
02:31three of their first two of their first six are absolute cupcakes and
02:34three of their first six,
02:35they should absolutely walk away with wins from that being Pittsburgh,
02:38Vegas,
02:39and New York.
02:39All right.
02:40But you start on the road against the defending Superbowl champs.
02:43So that's a tough,
02:44that's a tough game to win.
02:45I get it out without that.
02:46That one's a tough game to win.
02:47But then you look,
02:48you're home against Pittsburgh.
02:50That's a game that you should be able to win.
02:52I think you weren't able to win it last year.
02:54No.
02:55Yeah.
02:56But I mean,
02:56you had five turnovers in that game,
02:58but that was also like,
02:59that was also Drake may basically first year out there,
03:04learning the offense with like the first four games,
03:06because of how the preseason is,
03:08it's like,
03:09you know,
03:10teams figuring out who they were.
03:12And I think going into this year,
03:14you're not going to,
03:15Drake may's not going to need that time to be like,
03:18all right,
03:18what are we doing in this offense?
03:20He's a year deeper into Josh McDaniel's offense.
03:23And what do we know about when you look at the first,
03:26what is it?
03:27Three of the first four games are on the road.
03:29What do we know about this team from last year?
03:31They're road warriors.
03:32So they go down to Jacksonville.
03:34That's a game.
03:34I expect them to win.
03:35Oh,
03:35and then they're on the road in Buffalo.
03:37I think Jacksonville is a sneaky,
03:39really tough game just because of going down there at the end of
03:42September.
03:43Like,
03:44I think the conditions wise,
03:45it's going to be tough for them.
03:47Yeah.
03:47But I think this is a different team.
03:48It's a different mindset.
03:49It's not like,
03:50I understand the,
03:51you know,
03:52Oh,
03:52Patriots struggle playing in the heat down in Florida.
03:55I just think this is a different team with the way they played on the
03:58road last year and the way Mike Vrabel coached them up.
04:00All right,
04:00chime.
04:02Hello,
04:02Curtis.
04:02Hey,
04:03Greg.
04:03Good morning.
04:03I'm glad you enjoyed the fireworks.
04:05Don't let Wiggy beat you up.
04:07I don't listen to anything.
04:08He says none of it.
04:09Next time we can please get a video of Greg loving the fireworks.
04:13Oh man.
04:14I wish I had.
04:15So the over unders are out and the betting market has an interesting,
04:20I don't know,
04:23similarity between two quarterbacks,
04:24Patrick Mahomes and Drake may have identical over unders in touchdown passes
04:29and passing yards entering the 2026 season.
04:32So Drake may's over under is 3,800 passing yards,
04:3526 and a half touchdown passes and 10 and a half interceptions.
04:39Mahomes third,
04:40the identical.
04:41So my question is if Drake may throws for 27 touchdowns and 10 interceptions
04:46and 3,800 yards,
04:47do you consider that a great or good season,
04:50a successful season?
04:51Yes.
04:51It's a fine season.
04:52Yeah.
04:5327 touchdowns would probably put you somewhere around seventh or eighth in the
04:57NFL when it comes to touchdowns in a season.
04:59So I was quarterback.
05:00Yeah.
05:01I feel like that would be kind of not disappointing,
05:04but not what I would hope for this season,
05:07considering you're adding AJ Brown.
05:09Agreed.
05:09Like,
05:09I feel like AJ Brown and Steph digs.
05:11AJ Brown is a clear,
05:12you know,
05:12Steph was very good last year,
05:14but interesting off season.
05:15But AJ Brown has been,
05:18I think is a far better,
05:19more talented receiver.
05:20You should be,
05:21I think 30 touchdown passes is sort of where I would say that's a very good
05:25season,
05:25a step in the right direction.
05:26I guess one difference would be,
05:27and I'm not saying the direct comparison to Patrick Mahomes,
05:31but Drake may also just be scrambling a lot,
05:35like running touchdowns.
05:36Right.
05:36Right.
05:36It might not be all throwing touchdowns.
05:38That's true.
05:39They might,
05:39I could see Josh McDaniels continuing to loosen the reins a little bit,
05:43letting him improvise more,
05:44especially in the red zone with those red zone runs.
05:48But I think for Drake,
05:50the biggest thing to me,
05:51isn't just the numbers it's situationally this year.
05:54Like,
05:54can he keep himself clean?
05:57Can he prevent further turnovers?
05:59Can he not have strip sacks,
06:00especially if the offensive line falls apart a little bit in front of him with,
06:04I don't know,
06:05will Campbell still figuring it out and help.
06:08Right.
06:09I mean,
06:09there's only,
06:10and when you really think about the last year,
06:12it's kind of interesting when you look at it,
06:13there are only four guys in the NFL that had 30 or more touchdowns,
06:17passing touchdowns.
06:18And.
06:19Which is wild.
06:19Cause it's 17 games.
06:21Yeah.
06:21And Drake may was one of them.
06:22It's a good point.
06:22So if you have 27,
06:2428 touchdowns,
06:25like that's considered a good year.
06:27You know what I mean?
06:27I think that's,
06:28you know,
06:29that's kind of the biggest thing.
06:30It's more about the interceptions.
06:31You know what I mean?
06:32If you have 27 touchdowns,
06:3428,
06:34eight touchdowns and you have like 15 interceptions.
06:38Now I,
06:38I think the expectation is you have to be 10 or below.
06:42What are you expecting yards wise from AJ Brown?
06:45I mean,
06:47Steph Diggs was,
06:48I would say like a thousand.
06:50I would say like a 1200 plus is what I expect.
06:53My biggest thing from AJ Brown,
06:55where I expect him red zone.
06:56Yes.
06:57I expect him to be double digit touchdowns.
07:00You kind of need that from a receiver.
07:03And I'm curious.
07:04I don't know if you guys saw,
07:06I never know if this is real or not.
07:08Kayshawn Booty unfollowed the Patriots.
07:09Yes.
07:10Yes.
07:10Yes.
07:11Every time people see,
07:11see that I'm like,
07:12well,
07:12I don't know what athletes are following their teams or not,
07:15or if they have them in the profile or not.
07:17I don't like monitor that.
07:18So I take it for its word.
07:20But if you're,
07:22I mean,
07:22I think AJ Brown should be more of a touchdown red zone threat than
07:27anybody you've had on the team in the last three,
07:30four or five years.
07:30And I also just think it's interesting considering where my homes was
07:34entering that Superbowl against the Eagles going for a three-peat where
07:37you're kind of like,
07:38he was the goat and he's just now like middle of the pack.
07:43Like to me,
07:45that is the bigger story that the NFL thinks Drake may and Patrick
07:48my homes will have equivalent passing seasons when Patrick my homes is
07:52still in his prime,
07:53but the greatest offensive coach in the history of the NFL.
07:56And that is shocking to me.
07:58Look at home stats the last three years.
08:00And Curtis,
08:01I know his usage was only like a little over 50% last year,
08:04but Steph digs proved that you can suffer that ACL injury as you get a
08:10little bit older and come back like that.
08:12I mean,
08:12you can say all you want about digs.
08:14He didn't miss a beat when he came back from that injury last year.
08:18Yeah.
08:18I still like,
08:19you know,
08:19and I think that's what we talk.
08:20We would talk about these lists and shine was talking about it.
08:24You know,
08:24when you start to look at the quarterback situation,
08:26obviously for me,
08:27my homes are going to be top of that list,
08:29even though his numbers might not be like where they are,
08:33because I think we hold them to such a high standard.
08:36And when you look at it,
08:37like you go,
08:38Oh,
08:38okay.
08:38He hasn't been what we've seen before,
08:40but a lot of quarterbacks do that.
08:42Like even the great ones,
08:42Brady had a few seasons where he might've been like 24,
08:4525,
08:4627 touchdowns,
08:4714 interceptions.
08:48And the big thing with my homes to Wiggy is that when there's two minutes on
08:51the clock,
08:52there's no quarterback in football.
08:53You'd rather have on the field at this current moment than Patrick.
08:56That's not a single one.
08:57That's the thing because of my homes year in and year out,
09:01very similar to how with the Patriots were.
09:03You were like,
09:04Oh,
09:04you can't count Casey.
09:05You can't count Casey out.
09:07Like I don't look at Casey and go,
09:08Oh,
09:09they're a team that they're not going to be right in the mix because of my
09:12homes.
09:12And there are five or six teams that have an interest in stuff.
09:17Diggs.
09:17Apparently I,
09:18yeah,
09:18I was hearing that.
09:19I,
09:20I don't,
09:20I,
09:20I don't know.
09:23I think the question becomes what is it more money than anything?
09:27Because there's nothing going on other than the stupid,
09:30like a civil case of when guys deal with that stuff,
09:33get tossed out already though.
09:34Um,
09:35and it settled.
09:36Yeah.
09:36I think it was settled.
09:38So there's some drama that comes with him.
09:40Yeah.
09:40But it's nothing like crazy,
09:42crazy.
09:42A thousand yard receiver.
09:43Like those guys don't come around every day.
09:46And the drama is not that crazy.
09:47Who has more drama?
09:48Him or Puka Nakua?
09:50Puka Nakua.
09:51Yes.
09:53Yeah.
09:53But he requires room,
09:55like different sections of the stadium for each of the women that he is
10:00impregnated.
10:01Yeah.
10:01They all have to be in a different.
10:02That's easy though.
10:03It's just organization.
10:04Yeah.
10:05It's only like,
10:05you know,
10:0610 sections where you can put,
10:08where you can.
10:09I'll look at the upper bowl,
10:10the lower bowl,
10:11the family section.
10:12There's plenty of luxury boxes.
10:14I bet you there are plenty of guys on plenty of teams that have multiple
10:17baby mamas.
10:18So like Antonio Cromartie was able to deal with it.
10:20I think Stefan Day.
10:21Thankfully Mother's Day is not in season.
10:24So to me,
10:25that's not really an issue for like when you're looking at a guy,
10:28like I would have more,
10:29like I said,
10:30I would have more concern about Puka Nakua off the field than I would Steph
10:33Diggs.
10:34But Puka's ceiling is way higher than Diggs' at this point.
10:37I'm not saying that.
10:38That's not the point that I'm trying to make.
10:40I'm just saying that like Steph Diggs is not a guy.
10:42If I'm a team that's going,
10:44Oh,
10:45his off the field issues of things.
10:46He's a professional.
10:47Yeah.
10:48I think it's more about money with Diggs.
10:50I think it's teams are trying to low ball him because maybe his value isn't
10:56where he thought it was going to be.
10:57I thought it was going to be,
10:58you know,
10:5920,
11:0020 million a year,
11:01but maybe teams are like,
11:03Hey,
11:03we'll give you 12.
11:06And he's like,
11:06wait,
11:07I had a thousand yards last year off of an ACL injury.
11:10I feel great.
11:11I'm going to be able to give you the same type of production.
11:13And you're telling me I'm only worth,
11:15I made 21 million last year.
11:17So why do you think he hasn't been signed?
11:18I think it's the money issue.
11:20Right.
11:20But why do you think other teams aren't willing to pay him?
11:22I think he's 30 going to be what?
11:2332,
11:24three years old.
11:25Come,
11:26you know,
11:26I know he's removed from an ACL injury,
11:28but I think teams are going to look and go,
11:29okay,
11:30is he more likely to have another thousand yard receiving next year?
11:34Or is he going to start to decline?
11:35It seems like they're giving shots to a lot more younger guys.
11:38Like a lot of those veteran receivers,
11:39the Debo Samuels of the world,
11:40they're still just kind of hanging around in the free agent market.
11:42And I think teams are just willing to give younger,
11:45cheaper guys a shot.
11:45I'm just shocked.
11:46The chiefs haven't brought him in.
11:47Like,
11:47that seems like a perfect fit,
11:48but I can't remember.
11:50It might've been mega.
11:51You might've said this with the chiefs,
11:53like,
11:53or maybe,
11:54excuse me,
11:55Sean,
11:55they're kind of,
11:56they know what their wide receiver room looks like.
11:59So I don't know if they feel like they really want to necessarily bring in
12:03Steph digs.
12:04Cause I think they feel like they drafted the worthy kid.
12:07They obviously Rashi rice.
12:09I think they have high expectations.
12:10Oh yeah.
12:11They're waiting for several guys to actually be released from jail and then
12:15they'll be back.
12:16But I mean,
12:17he's when it comes to number two receivers,
12:20Steph digs is a top five number two receiver in the NFL.
12:24Yes.
12:24Yeah.
12:25I mean,
12:25I would take them,
12:26but I think it's the money.
12:27Great.
12:27John,
12:27you're looking.
12:28Yeah.
12:29I was,
12:29I'm counting in my head.
12:30Yeah.
12:30He's probably right around that five spot,
12:32right?
12:32Like the guy,
12:33the number two receivers off the top of my head that I would want over him
12:36are T Higgins,
12:38uh,
12:39Devante Adams,
12:40George Pickens.
12:41Yeah.
12:42Yeah.
12:43Well,
12:43the Patriots said Romeo Dobbs over him.
12:45Yeah,
12:46that's true.
12:46Yeah.
12:47I'd rather have Stefan Diggs than Romeo Dobbs.
12:48Yeah.
12:48I'm with you on that one,
12:49Sean.
12:49Yeah.
12:50All right.
