12:40they going to bump heads thankfully though our first pair really set the mood with a kiss so epic even

12:54when you two met it was unbelievable the kiss went on and on and on explain that i think it

19:45obviously when vettor first came in he's a very attractive man and i liked how confident he was
19:50and and everything like that but when i was in there i realized that um it actually was a learning
19:55curve for me where i actually think i'm a bit more shy and like introverted than i realized
19:58so then when he was coming on super strong kind of threw me off a bit vettor you were like

20:04this i was ready i was ready to be loved that's why i went on i kissed a boy i
20:11takes longer than a day
20:12though no no well i just felt like a little bit i put to the side in a way yeah

20:20instantly off you like because we had got through the kiss off if i'm dating someone i'm not going to

20:24like that with someone until you know spent a few nights together so all of this is going on between
20:29you two and then you add some friends into the situation i'm talking about that dinner right what

21:03get so involved everyone wants to know i think for me i was seeing things that i didn't agree with
21:09you know vettor was my best friend in there and to this day he's still my best friend as well
21:14and when i see somebody struggling and crying like every day there was nobody else in there
21:19really to kind of defend him and in terms of the situation you could have been anywhere and
21:24you know it would have been great because it's an awkward conversation you know and what i found
21:29was happening was you know ben was going around the masseria telling other people that he uh vito
21:34was giving them the ick and he wasn't interested anymore but the only person he wasn't telling was
21:38v so v was going around the masseria thinking everything was kind of okay as such right no but i
21:43said
21:43and you saw me say i need to have a conversation with it or i just didn't get given the
21:47opportunity and
21:47yeah for you to see that you were the one who was also going behind people's backs also starting
21:52shit can also just add you were ben was confiding in his closest friends in the mass and that's what
21:56i was doing as well we were doing the same thing and that's what we did for sure but we
22:00didn't come
22:01to you you came to us i would say that ross did what he did i changed i dimmed my
22:08light but babe you should
22:09never have done that exactly you should never have done that exactly clearly why you weren't
22:13compatible and and that is what i learned because you should in the master yeah absolutely absolutely
22:18yeah but with time i sort of lost that light and ross has been through every single stage so i
22:26i believe that's why he's defending me or or or helping me out for me to be honest and he
22:30was looking for

24:10tell them how you feel but not in an aggressive way sticks and stones me breaking roads but with never
24:16hurt because that's bullshit words do hurt you know words yes they do and they impact people's
24:20feelings yes they do so that's why i don't want to come out that way this is something that i
24:24would
24:24like i'm not my vibe at all i feel like i need some time to set my own to be

24:29even jake is like a bit shook about what's happened to hear how disgusted he was at the situation
24:36it's like too much i don't want to risk anything that's going with me and jake because what i've got
24:41is too good to lose hello nice to see you again you were so snuggled up in the masseria lots
24:54of cuddles
24:55lots of chess and jake you're pretty chilled i feel like you're someone who doesn't normally you know
25:05like confrontation and stuff and drama but after the dinner party you felt like you had to go
25:11and speak to caleb my feelings i think there's a right way to talk about situations if you feel
25:15uncomfortable about sitting scenarios so i would have talking to him individually instead of doing
25:20at the dinner table where it caused a lot of dramas and a lot of things that i thought shouldn't
25:25have
25:25been said were said yes the way it could have been handled is completely different it could have been a
25:29very easy conversation to have in two minutes but um it didn't come out that way have there been cuddles
25:36continuing for you or is this checkmate i think after the um sure we did honest to god give it
25:41a go
25:41and we were chatting all time and we tried to plan dates because of the distance that was one of
25:48them
25:48and then work was another thing the way that he had so much work to do and he had such
25:52a big schedule in
25:52life it just wasn't able to pan out because i need a lot of love a lot of the time
25:57but because he's just
25:58so busy with work and doing amazing in his life how did that make you feel um it was quite
26:04hard
26:04because it was the first time in so long that i'd felt that way towards somebody um sometimes i wish
26:10that the distance wasn't the problem because if it wasn't a problem it would probably be going really
26:14well uh still got feelings for jake it's complicated i mean look at him he's beautiful
26:19do you know what i mean he's absolutely stunning um but yeah it's just it's just the distance um
26:28and if that wasn't a barrier then so how can i move bright and closer to wales

26:55other sharing important conversations around what it means to be queer today from body image to body
27:02count discovering your sexuality to coming out and here are some of the impactful stories the boys
27:09shared with each other i've actually experienced like quite a bit of negativity and i don't want to
27:15feel that sort of rejection you know there's this one lad in particular we was on a date it was
27:20so
27:20nice like one thing led to another she's just like oh actually can we can we do this another time
27:25he's like yeah to be honest ollie he's just sort of it all died when he took your top off
27:29there's so much stigma in our own community all the apps they've desensitized everything
27:36i've had a religious upbringing so all my family are mormon that's why i think it took me so long
27:41to come out i've only come out now about told the first person about five months ago no way yeah
27:46i used to believe that homosexuality was a sin and honestly if i could communicate with my younger
27:51self and just be able to say like look like you're gonna get there in the end and i'm sat
27:56here now and
27:56i've done it i've come in here for an experience to find what i i want to find there was
28:02something
28:03that happened to me that put life into perspective okay a while ago i kind of found a lump down
28:08below
28:08got it removed and got it all tested and all that and it did actually come back as cancer you
28:14know life
28:14is precious you've just got to go out and live the happiest the fullest and best life that you can
28:20really i actually found that when i was going through school most of the time i would keep to
28:25myself because for me the less interaction i had with people the less chances there were for people
28:31to find out because whenever those conversations came up i just feel my whole body just like it was
28:35horrible i was nigeria till 16. i had to learn how to protect myself in an environment that was not
28:42accepting of myself i've always been like scared about people asking me if i'm gay
28:47because i think i'm always overthinking what other people are thinking i'm learning to learn to not
28:51give a shit i know man be proud of it like you're a proud gay man spend so much time
28:57bothered about
28:58what other people think i i want to be happier i want to have no shame about my sexuality i
29:04grew up in
29:04a protestant christian household so you know church every sunday i did think about actually becoming like
29:10a full-blown christian but kind of realized that that um wasn't my path once you obviously did did
29:18come out was that like kind of the whole weight lifted and then not really small towns talk and
29:25words hurt i want to make sure that i am that kind of hero that that little closet of what
29:32i always
29:32want it to be yeah yeah i'm gonna dress gayer and gayer every year yeah as you should and you're
29:36setting a great example for queer people in ireland as well yeah very good
29:44matty there's so many stories that people shared why do you think you all opened up so much to each
29:50other you know it's probably one of the first times many of us especially me has been in like a
29:56space
29:57where it is just exclusively like gay men all in the same situation and so it did feel like a
30:03very
30:04comfortable space that doesn't actually happen in reality um in the real world where we could you
30:10know just be ourselves and you know share our stories and you can go to a gay bar go to
30:15a gay
30:15club but it's not the same as being in a mass area yeah for daytime conversations all of that yeah
30:22um
30:22i've been trawling through social media i've been listening to podcasts and joseph i was just so
30:29taken by ones that you did where you were talking about living in jamaica i moved to jamaica when i
30:35was
30:3610 years old you know um being in that environment you want to present someone else um to everyone um
30:43yeah
30:43it's really intense i remember i always wanted to have some sort of idol to look up to um and
30:51if i can
30:52do that for someone else like i'm so happy with that you are the superhero now
31:04thank you so much for sharing all those stories whether people watch the show by themselves with
31:10their bestie their partner or a whole party of people the show has meant so much to so many people
31:17here's just a few thoughts from some of them i get why the straights are so obsessed with love island
31:23now boys and danny what you've done is you've opened a pathway for the public to see actually how lovely
31:31complicated and all the in between or gay dating is it's just a real window into normal conversations
31:38that we might have as gay people that people don't necessarily get to see thank you for showing that
31:43dating apps aren't where you have to go to be in a relationship if you're queer thank you for
31:48changing the game with this show so many different like backgrounds shapes sizes the lot like it was
31:55just incredible to watch you were also vulnerable and brave and open and just went for it and were
32:04fantastic role models to young queer men in the uk and just men generally you have a lot to learn
32:10from
32:10the vulnerability you showed to be this brave on tv and you should all be so proud
32:19it is so special to hear that feedback
32:24when new boy cj met og ross cj joked that he likes a boy with a bit of seasoning
32:31the pair grew closer and closer across their time in the masseria and they kept turning for each
32:36other until the very end let's take a look i like someone who's manly he's got beards cj he's just
32:45very cute most guys that i've spoken to are like either black mixed-race or like of color
32:53literally the polar opposite i feel like you've got a little bit of seasoning as well
32:58but reveal the name of the boy you want to kiss

33:09the more that i spend time with him the more i'm attracted to him and that just makes me so
33:14happy
33:14you're in manchester and i'm in london this far but i'll i'll make the effort
33:20like that i feel on top of the world i feel so so happy i'm so excited to come up

33:26see you and just take this connection that we've got now and just like put it into reality as well

34:37reality again you know i was in there from the beginning so it was kind of it was a lot

34:41to see my friends and my family that i hadn't seen and i think maybe cj was pushing a little

34:49onto me quite you know quite soon as we got out and i i think that ultimately led me to
34:55push away
34:56i get you know you want to adjust back to reality and you want to get back to you know
35:00life before
35:01them but then it's like i would try and message him and then i wouldn't really get responses back
35:06that i would have expected from someone who i'd had this experience with right sense and then i kind
35:11of pulled him up on it and i was like you're kind of making me feel like i'm i feel
35:16like i'm chasing you
35:16and i feel like i shouldn't have to because i feel like we've come away from this experience knowing
35:21that we had a connection so why do i feel like i'm trying when i when i feel like it
35:27should just be
35:27natural you know what i mean yeah and then like we spoke about it and you said that you would
35:30work on it
35:31yeah and then you left me on read for like four days yeah you know i think what i think
35:39with
35:39that situation is i felt like it was very intense and from the get-go you know i'd post a
35:44picture
35:44on instagram and i remember him messaging me and he's like i can see you online why you're not
35:49messaging me back and i'm i'm quite an independent guy i just felt like it was a lot i don't
35:55care what
35:55you post like that's you know you were bothered by what i posted because it's like you're clearly
36:00ignoring me and it's like you want attention from other people that's that's what i was getting from
36:05it and i honestly like i i'm really sorry that you know i made you feel like that it seems
36:11like
36:11there's two sides to the story but i hope you have a great fun relationship with someone and thanks for

40:03but it just took us all this time uh to actually finally meet and go all the way to italy

40:16yeah with me to meet all my family around christmas time and we traveled up in the highlands and it
