00:00Hi everyone it's Grace from the Monmouthshire Beacon. This weekend Monmouth has stepped back in time for its annual medieval
00:06festival. Let's see what's in store for today.
00:08The festival was held on the 4th and 5th of July with plenty to do. There was lots of entertainment
00:14at Vauxhall Fields, Mono Bridge and Monmouth Castle.
00:17This video only shares a snippet of what was on offer but other activities on the day included dressing and
00:23night, origami and sword demonstrations.
00:25There was also plenty of stalls and a variety of medieval costumes.
00:30But one activity which caught my eye was the falconry flying displays where members of the public could volunteer and
00:36be a part of the demonstration.
00:45Another activity which was on offer to the public was having a tour of the Mono Bridge Gatehouse where we
00:51learnt about some of its history whilst also appreciating the interior and structure of the building.
00:55This was exciting because it's not often that we're able to go inside and actually have a tour of the
01:00Mono Bridge, one which is used by many members of the public.
01:04The day was enjoyed by many as it brought people together, provided entertainment and shared an insight into some of
01:10the history Monmouth town halls.
01:12Everybody, I'm Rob Barrow, I'm the Mayor of Monmouth and I'm down here this afternoon at Mono Bridge where a
01:19very unusual thing is happening in as much as people are allowed to go up and look at the archway,
01:25have an investigate of what's inside and come out again.
01:37The day was so much fun but make sure to follow us over on our Instagram, TikTok and Facebook at
