00:00Heat stroke always means you're sweating. Not only is that false, it's one of the myths that
00:03can actually put you at risk during a heat wave. In severe heat stroke, your skin can become hot
00:08and dry instead, so call 911. Only older adults are at risk. Nope, heat can affect anyone,
00:15especially kids, athletes, outdoor workers, and people with chronic health conditions.
00:19Cracking your car windows keeps it safe for kids or pets. Dangerously false. Even when it's just
00:2470 degrees outside, your car can heat up to 90 degrees in just 10 minutes and nearly 120. So
00:30when it's 90 degrees outside, that dangerous heat sets in fast. Fans always keep you safe,
00:36not during extreme heat. At high temperatures, you'll need air conditioning or another cooled
00:40space. And finally, a fact that sounds fake but is true. The CDC says many heat-related deaths happen
00:46indoors, often in homes without air conditioning. The more dangerous the heat gets, the more
00:50dangerous these myths become. Which one surprised you the most?
