00:08Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're giving credit to characters who show up for work the
00:13most. These are 10 Resident Evil characters with the most appearances. For this list we're not
00:18including remakes or non-canonical entries but grain of salt, canon is often hard to categorise
00:24in this series. Let's go. Before we continue we publish content all week long so be sure to
00:29subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos. Hunk, four appearances, kinda.
00:43I'm breaking the rules of the list instantly because the audience gets mad when this RE legend
00:47isn't included. That being said most of his appearances are non-canonical side hustles so
00:53for this one entry we'll let it slide. Hunk is interesting. His actual impact on the story
00:59is questionable but fans adore him anyway, mainly because he looks like a walking do not disturb sign.
01:04He first showed up with his tactical grim reaper aesthetic in Resident Evil 2's fourth survivor
01:10mode, instantly becoming the coolest guy to never say anything. Appearing in side modes quickly became
01:15his whole career path. He popped up in Resident Evil 4's mercenaries then clocked back in for
01:19raid mode in revelations. At this point Hunk isn't a main character, he's a recurring DLC spirit animal.
01:32Rebecca Chambers 2 appearances.
01:37Alright, jumping to the real list starting off with 2 appearances from Rebecca Chambers. Rebecca
01:42Chambers is one of my faves in the series. She's cute, she carries a big gun, what's not to love?
01:47But it's not just me,
01:48She always ends up on people's most underrated Resident Evil character lists.
01:53She's the franchise's employee who does all the work and never gets the promotion.
01:57She was the crucial partner to Chris Redfield in the original game,
02:00even learning to play the piano on the spot just to help him out.
02:03Unfortunately, Chris is out here punching boulders,
02:06kind of overshadowing Beethoven's whatever symphony.
02:09Rebecca finally got her time in the spotlight in the prequel Resident Evil Zero,
02:13teaming up with Billy Cohen to stop James Marcus' monster-making science fair projects.
02:18And then, she pretty much vanished from the series.
02:21Despite a dozen games since,
02:22Rebecca's biggest return was as a selectable character in RE5's Mercenaries mode,
02:27which, obviously, non-canonical.
02:34Brad Vickers' three appearances.
02:39Get away!
02:46Brad Vickers might not be one of Resident Evil's legendary heavy hitters,
02:49but somehow the guy keeps showing up more often than characters who actually matter.
02:53Not that you don't matter, Brad.
02:55He totally doesn't matter.
02:56He first appears in the original game as Alpha Team's helicopter pilot,
03:00the brave hero who immediately panics,
03:03nopes out, and then later swoos back in to save everyone.
03:05Classic Brad.
03:07Unreliable, yet strangely useful.
03:09His Resident Evil 2 role?
03:10Not great.
03:11He's a zombie.
03:12He's an Easter egg,
03:13and he looks like he definitely did not get enough sleep in the afterlife.
03:16But RE3 finally gives him a memorable moment
03:19by having Nemesis absolutely delete him from existence.
03:22If nothing else,
03:23Brad Vickers will forever be remembered as the man who proved running from your problems
03:27only works temporarily.
03:35Claire Redfield, three appearances.
03:46Claire Redfield hasn't appeared in nearly as many mainline Resident Evil games as you'd think,
03:51especially considering her early resume.
03:53She headlined Resident Evil 2, scored the lead again in Code Veronica,
03:57and at that point, fans figured she'd just join the franchise's permanent A-team alongside Chris, Leon, and Jill.
04:03But then, Claire basically went on a very long coffee break.
04:07Outside of remakes, her only major return was in Resident Evil Revelations 2,
04:11where she played the seasoned survivor babysitting Barry Burton's daughter, Moira.
04:15It was less horror adventure and more bring your kid to work day.
04:18Except the workplace is full of monsters, and HR definitely doesn't exist.
04:25Ada Wong, three appearances.
04:35Much beloved, and not appearing as much as she should,
04:38Ada Wong, everybody.
04:39Resident Evil usually has pretty clear heroes and villains.
04:43And then there's Ada, who lives permanently in the grey zone like it's a luxury condo.
04:47The stylish super spy has tiptoed along the line between good and evil in every appearance she's made.
04:53In Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, she helps Leon constantly,
04:57though always while secretly running her own side hustle.
05:00Things get even wilder in Resident Evil 6,
05:02where Ada actually becomes one of the protagonists and gets her own entire campaign.
05:06No matter what hat she's wearing, hero, villain, or mysterious woman who refuses to explain anything,
05:11she always delivers unforgettable moments and enough plot twists to rival a whole soap opera.
05:41Barry Burton, three appearances.
05:46In the original Resident Evil, Barry Burton was basically Jill's unofficial emotional support dad,
05:51popping up with advice, ammo, and the occasional
05:54you-were-almost-a-jill sandwich to boost morale in a murder mansion.
05:58After that, though, he slipped into cameo territory
06:00with a blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance at the end of Resident Evil 3,
06:03followed by a stint in mercenaries mode of Resident Evil 5,
06:06though that doesn't count, because again, non-canonical.
06:10I'm sorry!
06:11In 2015, Barry finally got another turn in the spotlight
06:14with Resident Evil Revelations 2.
06:16There, he teamed up with Natalia, a mysterious little girl
06:19with powers that would put Evelyn to shame,
06:21all while desperately searching for his own missing daughter.
06:24Imagine bring your kid to work day,
06:26except the kid isn't yours and everything wants to kill you.
06:29She went somewhere else.
06:34Oh, okay.
06:35Well, what matters is that you're safe.
06:37Leon Kennedy, four appearances.
06:39Hold your fire! I'm a human!
06:44To many fans, Leon is Resident Evil's undisputed MVP,
06:48the franchise's golden boy, if you will.
06:50He started out in Resident Evil 2 as a rookie cop wildly unprepared for his first day on the job.
06:56Honestly, someone should have called him.
06:57By Resident Evil 4, he'd leveled up into a suave government agent
07:01on a solo mission to save the president's daughter,
07:03because apparently no one else in the entire U.S. Secret Service was free that weekend.
07:07His latest major outing, Resident Evil 6,
07:10had him once again trying to save the world,
07:12because that's basically his side hustle now.
07:14His other canonical entry is argued,
07:17but technically The Dark Side Chronicles is partially canonical,
07:20and the part that makes it technically canonical includes our boy.
07:24Its original scenario, Operation Javier,
07:26is canon, providing backstory for Leon and Krauser before RE4.
07:30A man equally famous for his extravagant lifestyle.
07:34Following his sudden disappearance,
07:37we found out that he had attempted to approach Umbrella.
07:50One of the very first choices Resident Evil players ever made
07:54was picking between Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine,
07:57basically choosing between Doodoo Punches Boulders
07:59and Woman Who Survives Everything the Universe Throws at Her.
08:01Jill went on to become an icon of gaming,
08:04surviving the original Mansion incident,
08:06and then getting relentlessly chased around Resident Evil 3 by Nemesis.
08:10She returned years later to headline revelations,
08:12proving once again that Jill is allergic to peaceful vacations.
08:16But her most surprising role came in RE5,
08:19where she temporarily swapped her duties for villain mode
08:22thanks to Wesker's mind control.
08:24Turns out Jill is terrifying on both sides of morality.
08:27Once again, like with Leon,
08:28her appearance in Dark Side Chronicles is widely considered canonical,
08:32though some parts aren't.
08:33Still counts!
08:48Albert Wesker, 6 appearances.
08:51Barry.
08:52Where's Barry?
08:56He's...
08:57No.
09:00What was that?
09:04I'll go and check it out.
09:06Alright.
09:06Jill and I will stay and secure this area.
09:08Most Resident Evil villains don't enjoy long careers,
09:11mainly because they have a habit of transforming into skyscraper-sized goo monsters
09:15and exploding.
09:16But Albert Wesker?
09:17That guy has longevity.
09:19He first popped up in the original game as the main antagonist,
09:22rocking sunglasses indoors like a man powered entirely by 90s Edge.
09:27After that, he slipped into smaller roles in Zero,
09:29Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4,
09:31popping in just enough to remind everyone
09:32he was still plotting something evil and probably expensive.
09:35He reclaimed center stage in RE5
09:38where he tried to unleash the Ouroboros virus on the world
09:41because global domination apparently beats getting a normal job.
09:44If he never returns in a major game again,
09:46his swong song will technically be Revelations 2
09:49as part of raid mode,
09:51though this is obviously non-canonical.
09:53He has a more significant role
09:55in the canonical scenario Memories of a Lost City
09:57in the Dark Side Chronicles.
10:00Nice work, Wesker.
10:13Chris Redfield, 8 appearances.
10:16Are you the only person here from the Bravo team?
10:19Very few Resident Evil games manage to leave out Chris Redfield entirely.
10:24The guy has been around since day one,
10:26serving as a playable protagonist
10:28during the mansion incident in the original game.
10:29Not long after, he showed up in Code Veronica
10:32to rescue his sister Claire
10:33because apparently the Redfields can't go five minutes
10:35without needing to save each other from biohazards.
10:38By the late 2000s, Chris became a franchise regular.
10:41In Revelations, RE5 and RE6,
10:44he was front and center as one of the leads,
10:46usually doing something heroic, sweaty,
10:48and involving at least one boulder.
10:49Then in Resident Evil 7 and Village,
10:51he stepped into more of a supporting role,
10:53popping in to help Ethan Winters
10:54whenever things got too spooky or too moldy.
