00:00Why is nobody seriously talking about this yet?
00:04The biggest inefficiency in the modern economy is intentionally ignored.
00:08Imagine this.
00:10Today we have artificial intelligence, smartphones, cloud computing,
00:15and digital platforms capable of connecting tens of thousands of people in real time.
00:21Yet most companies are still governed using a model that was designed more than a century ago.
00:25A small group of executives or owners make strategic decisions for hundreds or even thousands of employees.
00:33Why?
00:39For decades we were told there was no alternative,
00:42that workplace democracy would be too slow, too complicated, too expensive.
00:47But in 2026 none of those arguments are as convincing as they once were.
00:52The technological barriers have largely disappeared.
00:56Thousands of employees can participate in a decision within minutes.
01:00Results can be processed instantly.
01:03Artificial intelligence can organize information,
01:06help identify expertise, and support transparent decision-making.
01:10Now imagine a different kind of company.
01:13Every employee has a voice.
01:15But not every vote carries the same weight on every issue.
01:18Engineers have greater influence on technical decisions.
01:22Finance professionals on financial strategy.
01:25HR specialists on workplace policies.
01:28Experience, expertise, and demonstrated knowledge matter.
01:32Instead of concentrating decision-making power in a handful of people,
01:36companies could draw on the collective intelligence of everyone who creates their value.
01:41Today's hierarchical model systematically ignores an enormous amount of knowledge
01:45distributed throughout the organization.
01:48No executive team, no matter how talented,
01:52can possess all the information held by hundreds or thousands of employees
01:56working across different departments every day.
01:59So why don't we build companies differently?
02:02It isn't because we lack the technology.
02:04But not surprisingly, those who currently hold decision-making power
02:08have no incentive to share it.
02:10Technology has changed.
02:12The question is no longer whether workplace democracy is technically possible.
02:17The question is,
02:18if we can build it today,
02:20why aren't we even talking about it?
