00:07Here's what commuters can expect from the LRT Shah Alam Line, formerly known as LRT3.
00:13Prasarana's Head of Operations for the Shah Alam Line, Muhammad Arifin Idris,
00:17took members of the press on a short ride from Shah Alam Stadium to the line's final station, Johan Setia,
00:22in Klang last Tuesday.
00:23On the way back, they stopped at Glenmarie 2, which serves as a key interchange, connecting to the Kalana Jaya
00:30Line.
00:30The other key interchange is the Bandar Utama Station, which connects to the MRT Kajang Line.
00:36For payment, commuters can use existing rapid transit cards, or a single journey QR code ticket,
00:42with vending machines available at every station along the line.
00:45Prasarana says it's also planning an open payment system, allowing commuters to use credit and debit cards directly,
00:51with seamless travel across connecting networks on a single ticket, expected within the next 2-3 years.
00:57The line also runs on newer green technology, including auto-dimming train lighting that adjusts to natural light and tunnel
01:04conditions,
01:04and a regenerative braking system that recycles energy to power station lifts and lighting.
01:10Stations are naturally ventilated, rather than fitted with large industrial fans.
01:15Instead, platforms rely on household-sized fans, which some commuters may find insufficient,
01:20especially during peak heat.
01:22Trains run at intervals of under 8 minutes, with an end-to-end journey taking around 70 minutes.
01:28On safety, Prasarana says every train is fitted with CCTV alongside passenger help points at stations
01:34and in-train communication systems linking directly to the control centre,
01:39including emergency communication for OKU-friendly trains.
01:42Commuters planning to drive in should note not all stations have parking.
01:47At least six stations, mainly in Klang and Petling Jaya, offer parking,
01:52with around 2,300 bays available in total.
01:55Shah Alam stations currently have none.
01:58Prasarana says it's targeting 67,000 passengers a day at launch,
02:02with hopes of crossing 117,000 within the next five years.
02:09Shes that everyone has the opportunity.
02:10Every month.
02:11Tiago, Paule one, Maw.
02:11for this, for this, and this will be a great opportunity for us.
02:15The other day, we will be able to take a response for a transition with the pandemic,
02:15that will never be available or service in those days.
02:16But, if there are so many people that are still exempt,
02:16to look for the limitations of the lines.
02:16We're being in the next six years.
02:17We're with the next five years.
