00:03It's been a long-awaited ride.
00:05The new LRT Shah Alam line officially opened its doors at 6am on Monday,
00:10and thousands of commuters were eager to be among the first on board.
00:21Prasarana president and group CEO Amir Hamdan said operations ran smoothly on day one,
00:27with trains arriving roughly every eight minutes during peak hours,
00:31and all station facilities functioning without issues.
00:35So, Alhamdulillah, so sekarang kita berada di stesen bandar utama,
01:07He added that Prasarana will be closely monitoring ridership at key interchange stations,
01:13including Glenmarie 2, which connects to the Kelana Jaya line,
01:17and Bandar Utama, which links to the MRT Kajang line.
01:21For now, the focus is on smoothing out the user experience,
01:25from ticketing machines to gate access and passenger flow.
01:29Amir said train frequency could be increased,
01:33or standby trains deployed, if demand requires it.
01:37As for women-only coaches, Amir said,
01:40there's no immediate need, but Prasarana will study the idea
01:44based on future ridership data and feedback.
01:47So far, the first day of operations received positive feedback from commuters,
01:53who described the new route as comfortable, accessible and helpful in reducing travel time.
01:58I think it's strong enough because I don't need to wait for longer.
02:02Because if we have to wait before this,
02:04if we have to wait for the Shahlam, we have to wait for the KTM,
02:06and go to gate center.
02:07But now, there are also facilities, but I think it's still okay.
02:12I think that the journey is very smooth,
02:16and the LATI is very good.
02:19So, for a few minutes, it will be good.
02:22For the interior of the inside,
02:23or the design of the inside,
02:26it's very comfortable, very cute,
02:29because it's still new, and the infrastructure of the other,
02:33it's very interesting for people who use it.
02:37Because if we know that LATI was a long time ago,
02:42it's still new, and it's still like wow.
02:45Those wanting to try the line,
02:47Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
02:50has announced free rides on the Shahlam line
02:53and its feeder buses for one month,
02:55until the 31st of July.
