The new Electric Train Service 3 (ETS3) made its inaugural trip from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baru on Friday, cutting travel time to just 4 hours and 20 minutes.

The first ride carried 233 passengers, many praising its smooth, quiet and comfortable experience compared with road travel.

00:00The inaugural run of the Electric Train Service 3 between Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru
00:08commenced on Friday, marking a major step in modernizing Malaysia's public transport system.
00:14The first train departed KL Central at 8 a.m., with 233 passengers on board,
00:20and arrived at JB Central at 12.20 p.m.
00:24Commuters praised the ETS-3 as a faster, smoother and more comfortable alternative to road travel.
00:31Among the earliest travelers were Singaporean friends Joseph and Philip,
00:35who made a last-minute decision to experience the inaugural ride.
00:41Well, actually my friend who's somewhere down there wanted to try the ETS
00:47and this is an inaugural ride, so let's make history.
00:52We cooked it up actually on the beginning of this week or late last week.
00:58My friend said, hey, why don't we do it?
01:00So I said, okay. So I was looking up for the tickets.
01:04I think tickets went on sale Monday or Tuesday, something like that.
01:08Of course ETS is much better. It's much smoother, right?
01:13The facilities are there. You don't have to wait till the bus stops for a toilet break.
01:19It's definitely much more, and I also met a friend and it was very nice and comfortable ride.

01:28I enjoyed the smoothness of the ride and especially the quietness.
01:31I guess there will be improvements along the way, but otherwise it's a very good ride.

01:36And I hope they'll see more improvements and extension to the north to maybe Batawa, Pada Pasa.

01:48at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour compared to around 7 hours by road.
