00:00Does Robin look better when he's rocking it in red?
00:03Here's a look at McFarlane Toys, DC Direct, Page Punchers, Teen Titans, Robin.
00:21Orphaned aerialist Dick Grayson was Batman's first sidekick before becoming Nightwing.
00:25Somebody should probably go and tell the Teen Titans that we've got a new Robin.
00:27Before we get a closer look at the Page Punchers, Teen Titans, Robin, let's take the tape measure and see
00:32how tall the figure's going to stand.
00:34I found this one on the Facebook Marketplace. I found this one from Popeye the Toy Man.
00:40In fact, you probably have been hearing that sound all throughout this week, because thanks to him we've been looking
00:44at a whole ton of new DC Multiverse figures.
00:46Let's go ahead now and take the tape measure and see how tall the figure's going to stand.
00:50Red Robin, though not really his name, you're looking at the figure being about 7 inches in height, or about
00:5517.5 centimeters tall.
00:57It always does seem, when it comes to Robins, that they always end up making the figures way too big.
01:02As the comparison, though, I'm going to bring in the Nightfall Batman.
01:04You probably can already see for yourself that not only is Robin the same size as Batman, but he's actually
01:09using the exact same body as well.
01:11That doesn't change at all, though, with other Robins.
01:13It seems like we either have a Robin that's way too tall, or we have a Robin that's way too
01:17small.
01:18Just bring in right now the Classic Age Robin, Silver Age, doesn't really matter.
01:24The point is, though, that they're generally, again, way too large or way too small.
01:28As you, of course, bring in the other Teen Titans, you can probably even see that it's even more apparent.
01:33Of course, we can bring in the likes of Raven, we can bring in Arsenal, and right here front and
01:37center, we can also bring in Donna Troy.
01:39Anyway, something you'll see if you're collecting Page Puncher's figures, there generally are lights on accessories.
01:44In fact, unfortunately, though, for Robin, the only thing that comes out of his plastic prison with him is a
01:47display stand, a trading card, and walking over here, the figure does also come in clue with a replica comic
01:54of Teen Titans 41.
01:56Front and center, though, the figure does come in clue with a circular black display stand cast here in plastic.
02:01DC logo is down below here.
02:03There's no raised surface to it, so right now I'm realizing, I don't know why I'm rubbing my finger across
02:08it.
02:08And then walking distance from that, of course, there's the peg that can plug into either one of Robin's boots.
02:12You have one peg, you have two boots.
02:15You're going to have to be very careful with which one you're going to be choosing.
02:18Apparently, for choosing, they chose to go with this card of Robin, a bad-looking artwork.
02:23Unfortunately, though, it's light.
02:25As light as the accessories are, there's not really much to be said about Dick Grayson's Robin.
02:29I mean, in fact, looking at this, it's only like one sentence.
02:32Dick Grayson, and of course, if you'd like to read that, by all means, go ahead.
02:36I've already taken the time to read that for you.
02:37Let's move the card off to the side.
02:40The figure does come included also with Teen Titans number 41.
02:44Nice.
02:45Some of the characters that we haven't yet gotten, I should have actually brought it also in as Cyborg.
02:50But comic itself-wise, flipping through it quickly, I've got to say, it's like one of the better artwork comics
02:55that we have gotten.
02:57Now, just to show you guys, though, just an idea.
03:00Look how small Robin is when you compare him against...
03:03Now, Cyborg, to be fair, though, is a full-sized character, a full-sized adult.
03:06And yet, if I was to really bring in Cyborg, Robin would have been about the same size as him.
03:11So scaling is, unfortunately, a little bit off on these.
03:14Put the comic off to the side.
03:17And that's it.
03:18That's all we really have for today.
03:20No, obviously, we're going to be looking at the figure as well.
03:22He has, funny though enough, a gripping hand on this side of the figure's body.
03:25He doesn't have a battering, a grapple gun, anything like that.
03:29Those would all be fun things that they could have thrown in with the figure.
03:33But it does seem, though, the case that Page Puncher's figures generally, again, are light.
03:38Very light.
03:39For the figure's...
03:40For the figure's accessory.
03:41We can't really spend so much time talking about the figure's accessories.
03:43Instead, we'll look at the figure's body.
03:46Again, to bring back in the Nightfall Batman, it is the exact same.
03:50After a while, you start to pick up points on figures.
03:53Like the little wrinkle there on the side of his pec is also over there on Batman.
03:56You can see a little indentation there on the shoulder.
03:58Happens also to still be on Batman.
04:01The abdomen area and also the wrinkles there on the tops of the thighs all indicate, though, that this is
04:05the same body.
04:05Now, I use only the example of Batman from Dark Knight, from Nightfall.
04:11But, I mean, again, this body's also been used a couple of times also, too.
04:14I feel like if you were to choose the body, and this probably would have been a prime time to
04:18bring that body in,
04:19I probably would have maybe gone with the Beast Boy or Jonathan Kent Superboy.
04:24I think that would probably have been the better body to go with.
04:26First of all, he's like he's way too muscular.
04:28I like the colors on him.
04:30Don't get me wrong.
04:31I think the head sculpt's really good here on Red Robin also.
04:34But by giving him a larger body like this, it seems like he's out of place.
04:37Like he really should be at least the same size as the other Teen Titans, just to bring in like
04:42Arsenal.
04:42Look how much taller Robin is and how much buffer he is as well.
04:46Like I feel like he should be the same size as Arsenal.
04:48I mean, like just to put the two down on the shelf.
04:51Scaling doesn't always seem to be the case when it comes to DC Multiverse figures.
04:54I mean, again, like look at the size of Robin.
04:56Look at the size of one of his fellow Teen Titans.
04:59It's completely way off.
05:01Put that off to the side though.
05:02Like the head sculpt is pretty good though, had it only been just a little bit smaller.
05:06The body colors are really good.
05:08Had again, the body only been a little bit smaller.
05:10Of course, you got the red, the R there for Robin there on the front.
05:13Little stitches that he has on the front are only really only suggested by printing them on.
05:17They're not actually sculpted onto the body.
05:19Utility belt looks okay.
05:20No issues really there.
05:22Of course, he does have little spikes there on the side as well.
05:24I think like the color looks really good.
05:26The color kind of reminds me of Batman from Zornar, that bright red that they went with.
05:30One of my favorite aspects though of Robin, the fact he also has a wire-framed cape.
05:34The fabric that they chose is really nice.
05:37Black on the outside, of course, yellow on the interior.
05:40It's a nice vibrant yellow too.
05:42But by also adding sewn in seamed wires, you can also bend and manipulate the cape as well.
05:47So you go a little bit crazier.
05:49So yeah, he loses something unfortunately though with not having accessories.
05:53But what he has at least gained for him is he has Teen Titans number issue, issue number 41.
05:57And then he also benefits, of course, by having a really nice looking cape.
06:01Is that though enough to warrant picking this figure up?
06:04I mean, again, the only thing that really is a detriment to him is just the fact that he's,
06:08again, way too big.
06:09He's way too tall.
06:11For Robin's articulation, going once again back to his head sculpt, it's going to be on a ball joint.
06:16Like with pretty much every other body that uses the same mold.
06:19Head's going to look down and up.
06:21Not much though.
06:21So looking him down, that's as far down as we really can go with him.
06:25Did I show you a chance to give you guys, show you guys what the hair sculpt looks like?
06:29Hair looks good on Robin.
06:31Again, the head rocks back and forth, but only just a little bit.
06:34Top of the torso is going to be on a ball joint.
06:37Further from that, down in the abdomen area, it's going to do the same too.
06:41The arms rotate.
06:42If I just get a cape out of the way, all the way around.
06:44You can hinge, of course, the arm out.
06:46But there's a swivel there at the bicep.
06:48Swivel, swivel.
06:50Double hinge on the elbow, although the elbow was a little tight on Robin.
06:54Double hinge on the elbow.
06:55And the hands rotate all the way around.
06:57You know, again, you're stuck, unfortunately, with a close fist on one side.
07:00And the constant tease that the figure should have really had accessories by the fact he has a gripping hand
07:05on the other.
07:08Legs do split.
07:08And when they do split, they make the ratcheted sound.
07:12Of course, the legs go also forward and back.
07:14No issues there.
07:15You can swivel a little bit at the top of the thigh.
07:18Double hinge on the knee.
07:19There's no articulation here at all for the boots.
07:22It's only just, again, a continuation around the calf.
07:24The ankles move up and down.
07:26They rock back and forth.
07:27And the figure does also have toe articulation.
07:31What I like about the Robin, let's talk about the goods.
07:33Let's talk about the bads.
07:34I wouldn't necessarily say there's any uglies.
07:36The good, though, is the fact I do like the coloring of Robin.
07:40Now, again, like generally Robins, most tend to think of usually Robins like with green tights, red top.
07:46I like really the idea of having Robin with some additional colors.
07:48Like all the red with a little bit of pop of black that he has in his trunks.
07:52And, of course, the yellow.
07:53It's a very vibrant looking Robin.
07:55So I like the colors.
07:56I like the head sculpt.
07:58I think the head sculpt is really good on this one, too.
07:59And I love the cape.
08:01I think the cape is like one of the better looking capes we've gotten for Robin.
08:04And I like the material cape.
08:06I know some people like plastic capes.
08:07I generally, though, really like now the fabric capes.
08:10I know I kind of have switched sides.
08:11Generally really liking the plastic before.
08:13Generally now, though, liking the fabric just that little bit more.
08:18Tell you one of the biggest detriments, though, to again to this figure.
08:20Comes more to effect when you start to bring in other characters that you have plans to display him with
08:24on the shelf.
08:25If you want to have him as part of the representations of the Teen Titans, representing, of course, that team.
08:31When you start to bring in the other figures, now, again, Donna Troy is going to be a little bit
08:34taller.
08:35But if you kind of overlook that.
08:37Raven and Arsenal.
08:39That should be at least the size class that we want to go with.
08:42Robin should, at the very least, be shorter.
08:45If you are going to make him taller, though, he should be a little bit leaner.
08:48Little bit leaner.
08:50Again, I really feel like Jonathan Kent's Superboy probably would have been the better body to go with.
08:55Heck, we've also got that body as well with Teen Titans Beast Boy.
08:59Which I probably also should have brought in for this review.
09:01I think Teen Titans Beast Boy probably would have been the better suited body to give us this Robin.
09:06Unfortunately, though, by giving him a Batman body.
09:08Which, again, I know this body has been used a couple of times with other figures, too.
09:12But by giving him this body.
09:14Not only, though, is he the same size as Batman.
09:16Which I don't think is really right.
09:17But then he's also a lot larger than all the rest of the Teen Titans that you have plans to
09:22display around him.
09:23Paired, I'm sure, to go with Robin.
09:25But packaged and sold separately.
09:26There is also the DC Direct Page Puncher's Miss Martian.
09:29That, funny though enough, is also going to come include with Teen Titans issue number 41.
09:34Surprised, though, that they didn't choose to give her a different mini comic.
09:36Or a different comic to include.
09:38As opposed to giving her the exact same one.
09:40Which means, eventually, when I get around to picking up Miss Martian.
09:43I'm going to have the exact same issue of Teen Titans 41.
09:46Why not include issue number 42?
09:47Or even before that, issue number 40.
09:50At some point, though, I would like to finish off at least what's left of the Teen Titans before, of
09:55course, the DC Multiverse brand moves completely over to Mattel.
09:58I like generally, though, Robin.
10:00I mean, again, I know in this review it kind of sounded like I was critical a lot about him.
10:04The only thing I could really be critical about is more so just the fact that the figure's size and
10:08the buffness of his body detracts a little bit away from the fact this guy's supposed to be a Teen
10:13Titan, after all.
10:14He has more of an adult body.
10:16And I feel like it's not like you can't say that they didn't have extra bodies to work with.
10:20Because they've already done a Beast Boy body for Teen Titans as well.
10:24Why wouldn't they have just used that body instead?
10:26I guess they did want to end up going and using a Batman body.
10:29But the end result, though, is not only is it not going to work well to have him display with
10:33Batman because he's going to be the same size, but if you had any plans at all to display this
10:37Robin of him along with the rest of the Teen Titans, he's going to, again, look completely out of place.
10:42What do you guys think of Robin?
10:43Let me know down below in the comment section.
10:45Does it bother you at all that the size is way too large to have displayed with the rest of
10:49the Teen Titans?
10:50Or something like that doesn't really bother you much at all.
10:52Again, I did grab this one from the Facebook Marketplace from Popeye the Toy Man.
10:57We're going to have some more reviews also coming your way this week.
10:59So if you like Teen Titans, you're probably going to be a little disappointed because we're not going to have
11:03any more Teen Titans.
11:03But we are going to have, though, more DC Multiverse reviews in the pipeline and coming your way.
11:08As always, guys, thanks for watching.
11:10See you guys next time.
