00:00Hold the phone. This doesn't seem like a good deal to us.
00:03A big question this week in Washington.
00:04Is the memorandum of understanding with Iran a good deal for the U.S.?
00:09We reached an agreement with Iran that achieves everything we set out to accomplish.
00:13Here's what we've heard about it from lawmakers on Balance of Power.
00:16There's great worries about what's actually resolved, what isn't resolved.
00:20Is there any action being taken on Iran's ballistic missile program?
00:24The thing that's been resolved is the fact that we're going to move forward and try to get to a
00:28resolution.
00:29That's historical.
00:30Not any of the big reasons why Trump started this war of choice have really been resolved.
00:37Not the nuclear issue. There's been no regime change.
00:40I don't like the final outcome here. I'm sure President Trump doesn't like the outcome.
00:43He would have liked unconditional surrender.
00:46If you're going to recognize reality and realize that they still had a stranglehold over the Straits
00:51and you want to open the Straits up, there's got to be some give and take.
00:54It sounds like Iran is going to come out of this with more money, with, they claim, an opportunity to
01:01get fees through the Strait of Hormuz.
01:03This will be a pay-for-performance type of structure, meaning they're not going to get any sort of relief
01:08until they've actually demonstrated concrete performance.
01:11I don't see that we're going to be any better off than we were before the war started.
01:15I don't see that.
