00:00It does seem like President Trump has kind of dug in on the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
00:05Why do you think he is doing that? And also, how effective has that been?
00:09I think the president is very focused on projecting strength and sort of he's making these maximalist threats and demands.
00:19And it's very much in line with his negotiating style. It's something we've seen over and over again.
00:25And he will, you know, I mean, going back to just that that post about we will take out a
00:29whole civilization.
00:30And we've seen a lot of inflammatory, threatening rhetoric.
00:35And, you know, again, there the president is renewed threats on Iranian infrastructure and saying that if we don't get
00:43a deal, the bombing will start again.
00:45And so I think it's a way for the president to just just try to keep up this pressure on
00:51Iran.
00:51I think the sheer amount of military might that is in the region right now is just stunning.
00:57And I think he's just unwilling to really pull back those forces and wants to keep that blockade in place
01:04until he feels like this is actually this has been resolved.
01:09And we have an actual deal and it's and it's signed and it's done.
01:12And so I have a hard time seeing he just was so adamant about that and has been in the
01:17past few days about how he is not going to be lifting that blockade until there is an actual deal
01:26that is signed.
