00:00The future of the Kennedy Performing Arts Center is taking several legal twists and turns.
00:06A federal judge says the Kennedy Center must give a 30-day notice
00:11before any planned renovations or demolitions could take place to the building.
00:17This comes after photos show President Trump viewing a place card on Air Force One
00:22that appears to read, quote, Kennedy Center demolished.
00:26On Wednesday, the president warned the Senate could be torn down if it's not renamed after him.
00:32If we don't do that, it's going to close. It'll end up being ripped down. It's in very, very bad
00:38shape.
00:38In a meeting Tuesday, federal judge Christopher Cooper denying Trump's request to add his name.
00:44He threw a tantrum because he lost in court. He wasn't pleased with it.
00:50In a memo, Judge Cooper defending his ruling, saying, quote,
00:53Simply put, defendants cannot install memorials for President Trump or anyone or anything else
01:01at the Kennedy Center without Congress's blessing.
01:04Concerns of the Kennedy Center's upkeep reignited earlier this month
01:09when the Trump administration posting these images to acts,
01:13revealing a hole in the ceiling and a portion of it collapsing after a storm.
01:18The place is a dump.
01:20It's been very badly maintained for 25 years.
01:23Days later, barricades lined the center's perimeter as its executive director announced a temporary closure
01:31due to, quote, continued structural deterioration.
01:35The center's board also voting to shutter the venue for two years during renovations.
01:40And Judge Cooper told the Kennedy Center's board to provide a detailed status report
01:45regarding the building's closure and renovations by September 23rd.
