00:14Good afternoon.
00:16This is the moment you are all waiting for since weeks since we announced that Prime Minister Modi will be
00:25joining us.
00:26Ten years ago, VivaTech began with a simple conviction that the future is not something we wait for, it's something
00:38we build and that we build together.
00:41A decade later, we stand at the threshold of the age of artificial intelligence and the question before us is
00:53no longer whether technology will reshape our world, but whose value will guide it.
01:01That question brings our next guest to this stage.
01:10India and VivaTech share a long story and I remind you that in 2022, India was our first country of
01:22the year.
01:23And this year, our 10th anniversary, India returns as our first ever AI country partner.
01:34And the theme that says everything about it and its ambition, tech for humanity.
01:52In VivaTech, there is Viva, which is about life and celebration of life and celebration of tech.
02:00This is a country of more than 800 million internet users, the world's largest digital public infrastructure and one of
02:14the planet's most vibrant startup ecosystem.
02:18It is a country that has chosen to lead the global conversation, not only on how fast we can build
02:30AI, but on how wisely we can build AI because technology must be at the service of humanity and not
02:42trying to replace people.
02:45Just days ago in Nice, alongside President Macron, Prime Minister Modi opened a new chapter in the France-India relationship.
02:58He is one of the most influential voices shaping the future of responsible AI and it is my great honor
03:10to welcome Prime Minister Modi to the VivaTech stage.
03:16Please join me in welcoming Prime Minister Modi, Narendra Modi.
03:28India is the largest democracy of the world and Prime Minister, it is a great, great honor for us to
03:38welcome you.
03:39Thank you so much.
03:42And you have to know that Prime Minister Modi is the Prime Minister longest serving India since ever.
03:51And congratulations.
04:13Distinguished guests, innovators, business leaders, tech enthusiasts,
04:29people from the start-up world, ladies and gentlemen, namaskar.
04:49Bonjour.
05:00I am delighted to be in Paris for the 10th edition of VivaTech.
05:14This is Europe's biggest technology event.
05:23I congratulate President Macron and the organizers for the success of VivaTech.
05:38Friends, 2026 is a special year for India and Europe.
05:54At the beginning of the year, we concluded the historic India-EU free trade agreement.
06:10This agreement will expand our trade and investment and it will open up many pathways for the exchange
06:27of talent, technology and tourism.
06:36With the launch of the India-France Year of Innovation, this year, France is serving as an important bridge that
06:49is bringing the tech ecosystems of India
06:54and Europe closer.
07:00From Bharat Innovates held a few days ago in Nice to VivaTech in Paris today.
07:12Our start-ups are forging many new partnerships.
07:20Friends, in 2021, when I addressed VivaTech, the world was facing the disruption of COVID-19.
07:38Today, the world is experiencing disruption of other kinds.
07:48And I reiterate the message I shared then at VivaTech 2021.
08:02Where convention fails, innovation can help.
08:12Friends, in the last decade, India has been going through a rapid transformation that is powered by technology.
08:29From creating the world's largest digital identity system to the world's largest digital payment platforms.
08:45We are using technology at a massive scale for financial inclusion, education, telemedicine, agriculture and more.
09:02For example, consider digital payments.
09:08Because of our Unified Payments Interface or UPI, half of the world's real-time digital transactions happen in India today.
09:24You can now use UPI in France too at the Eiffel Tower or the Paris Airport.
09:38We have several examples of such world-class digital public goods.
09:49DigiLocker is one of the world's largest digital document wallet.
09:55Through DigiLocker, 700 million users are able to access authentic documents from the original source, anytime, anywhere.
10:17We have onboarded over 2,000 standard documents on the DigiLocker platform.
10:28We do not need to store and search for physical documents in India anymore,
10:38such as your driving license or vehicle registration certificate.
10:48Another example is the Gati Shakti platform.
10:53Thanks to technology, we have integrated more than 1,600 geographic data layers on a single GI-based map.
11:12We have created an integrated data-driven whole-of-government planning platform for infrastructure.
11:27Now, project surveys that used to take many months can happen in a few weeks.
11:38Friends, six years ago, we launched the Swamitva program, a powerful example of technology delivering dignity and economic security.
12:02Swamitva combines drones, geospatial mapping and modern survey technology to provide property records to rural households.
12:21Over 31 million, over 31 million property cards have been prepared in almost 200,000 villages.
12:33This is helping families to use their property as financial assets.
12:43And while the government delivers public goods at scale, our start-ups are transforming human lives in every sector.
12:57Friends, an AI application called Sarlaben speaks to millions of women dairy farmers in their own language, giving expert guidance
13:15on livestock health and management.
13:21Indian women are being trained as drone pilots for spraying fertilizer and crop monitoring.
13:36Satellite data is guiding hundreds of thousands of fishermen to the most promising fishing zones, helping them save fuel, reduce
13:53time and improve catch.
13:56Our technology solutions are delivering prosperity at the grassroots level.
14:07Friends, from space technologies to nuclear energy, we are expanding the frontiers of human capability.
14:22India became the first country to land near the moon's South Pole.
14:31And recently, India's prototype fast breeder reactor achieved criticality.
14:44It has brought us closer to realizing our three-stage nuclear energy vision, including the use of our vast thorium
15:01reserves.
15:01Friends, with over 200,000 start-ups, India is one of the most vibrant ecosystems in the world.
15:15I urge you all to visit the India pavilion.
15:21India.
15:21Here, you will get a feel of India's immense energy.
15:29But in the world's first single piece, 3D printed rocket engine, advanced genetic engineering therapies,
15:45AI solutions that detect cancer and other critical diseases, or improve cyber and network security, autonomous robots, smart cities and
16:11mobility solutions.
16:13You will see all these at the Indian pavilion.
16:20Across sectors, our start-ups are innovating in an inspiring way.
16:30Friends, when it comes to technology, along with innovation, what matters is access.
16:45Technology can lead to progress only when it is democratized.
16:54India believes that in this era of disruption, technology must deliver for all.
17:05Let us take the example of AI.
17:11AI must improve lives, widen access, drive growth, and also help us sustain a healthy planet.
17:30Our participation as the AI Country Partner at VivaTech 2026 reflects this very vision.
17:45For India, AI means all-inclusive.
17:51Friends, India is an open society and the world's largest talent pool.
18:05We are simplifying regulations and ensuring ease of doing business.
18:14From innovation to commercialization, we are supporting private enterprise through targeted incentives of over 50 billion dollars.
18:33We are also providing one of the world's most affordable data and low-cost green energy.
18:43Our approach is clear.
18:47Our government will enable and industry will innovate.
18:55Start-ups will disrupt and global partners will scale with us.
19:02Together, we will move faster than ever.
19:09I call upon everyone in this room to take the lead.
19:18Work with India and deliver for all.
19:24Thank you very much.
19:26for a great time.
19:28You
19:28a very nice job.
19:40I appreciate it.
