00:00I'm sorry. Wild Tiger game last night.
00:02Wild Tiger game. Very wild.
00:04Yes. And awfully wise.
00:06I mean, the headlines
00:07Cole Keith, right? The two on
00:09Homer in the third to put the Tigers up
00:114-1. I think
00:134-0 at the time.
00:15The two run shot down the line to put
00:17him up 8-3 and then the solo shot in the
00:19ninth. The opposite field. The opposite field
00:22to put him up 9-3.
00:23Bobby Scales said he hit three different pitches
00:25out. It was a
00:27sweeper, a change up, and a slider.
00:30On the broadcast.
00:32Which is awesome.
00:34Quite frankly,
00:35this is the correction. People talk
00:37about corrections in baseball.
00:40This can happen both ways.
00:42This can happen when you're performing way
00:43above your head. The correction
00:45comes and you suck for like a month
00:47to get you back to where you normally are.
00:50But when you've sucked for a couple of months
00:51and Cole Keith didn't suck, but he
00:53was hitting for no power, no extra base hits.
00:55No. He had five games
00:57ago. Five games
00:59of the first 62 games.
01:01He had zero home runs and he had
01:03seven RBI.
01:05Seven in 62 games
01:07for someone who's
01:09pretty much in the top six in the order
01:11every game, if not in the top three.
01:13He had been playing way up in the order.
01:16Since that time,
01:17he's hit four home runs.
01:19And so it's in his last five games,
01:20I believe, four or five games.
01:22He's hit four home runs
01:23and driven in nine.
01:26He's, he's had quite a week.
01:28Cold Keith has.
01:30I'm glad to see it because I'm like,
01:32this guy is just
01:34that, that, that frame is just too big
01:37and too large to not hit for any kind of power.
01:39And there he showed it last night,
01:41three home runs, bringing his average up to 267 on the season.
01:46More importantly, bringing up his OPS.
01:48Welcome to the 700 club.
01:50Again, cold Keith.
01:51Good to see it.
01:52And let's see if he can be steady.
01:54Now.
01:54I don't expect him to be, you know,
01:56hitting three home runs a week,
01:58let alone in a single game,
02:00but I do expect to see some power of that bat.
02:03And we did see it last night and it was great to watch.
02:05And I think for him,
02:06you could just see sighs of relief all the time.
02:08When he hit the first one last week
02:10and it looked like, you know,
02:12he would help to blow that ball over the wall
02:14because it just exhale, you know,
02:17420 feet later was just great.
02:19You root for a guy like that.
02:20Cause he's, he has to be part of this team's future.
02:23They took a chance on him.
02:24They gave him a little bit of a contract
02:26well before he was due, right?
02:28They gave him a little bit of money and said,
02:30all right, we're going to invest in you for seven years
02:31at whatever it is, 5 million a year
02:33or something like that.
02:34But they gave him the money, some money.
02:37They want to see return on that investment.
02:39And last night is a monster step in the right direction.
02:43It's one game,
02:44but let's hope this jump starts the rest of his season
02:47and he starts to develop into that player
02:49that y'all thought he could be.
02:50Yeah.
02:51I mean, look, it's helpful along,
02:54but there was a lot of talking points
02:55out of last night's game because it was wild.
02:57It really was wild.
02:59Stuff that happened before the game.
03:00Right.
03:01Sure.
03:01With another tiger injury.
03:03We don't know how serious Troy Melton's is,
03:05but then obviously Glaber goes down during the game
03:07and that looks like it might be more serious.
03:09We'll get into some tiger stuff
03:11coming up a little bit more in depth
03:12a little bit later on,
03:13but straight ahead,
03:15we have got our Detroit Red Wings Trade Center,
03:18spelled C-E-N-T-R-E,
03:20news aggregate update blitz thingy,
03:22as there is maybe more teams getting involved
03:25with Dylan Larkin,
03:27including one that really has something intriguing to shop.
03:30We will get to that today at 1031.
03:33I'm Carson Anderson on 97.1.
