00:00Another sneaky team.
00:01Everyone seems to really think the Bears are that team that is going to take the next step this year,
00:06too.
00:06I mean, it seems like – does it seem to you, Joe, that they're the hottest betting team?
00:10It feels like everyone is talking about the Bears.
00:12Am I wrong about that?
00:13It feels like they think Ben Johnson's going to take the team to the next level.
00:17Is that fair or unfair?
00:18I don't know that to be true.
00:21Ben Johnson is the NFL's version of Kurt Cignetti,
00:25the very brash and outspoken head coach of the national champion, Indiana.
00:31It just still feels weird saying you're national champion, Indiana Hoosiers,
00:36and not be talking about basketball.
00:38It's a little weird.
00:39But he's taken – he's got that persona.
00:42Like, you know, all we do is win.
00:43Google me.
00:44Like, he's got – you know, he came out earlier in the week and said that as far as he's
00:50concerned,
00:50he's planning on breaking the record for the best offense the NFL has ever seen.
00:55He's going to break all sorts of yardage records.
00:57You know, it's interesting.
01:00But you know what?
01:00If it plays in a locker room and his team rallies around him,
01:05I am not a Caleb Williams fan to begin with.
01:07But I do think you've ultimately –
01:10Oh, I think he's in line.
01:12I don't like him at all.
01:13I think he's going to have a big year, Joe.
01:15Oh, no.
01:16I don't know.
01:16I think he – I was shocked.
01:19Go take a look at his stats from last year.
01:21They were off the charts good.
01:22I didn't even realize he was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL last year.
01:25I guess the reason why I would buy into the Bears a little bit is the confluence of events.
01:31It felt like last year's Bears were different than, like, 20 years of Bears football.
01:36Like, you kind of felt like, hey, this may be a good team.
01:40Maybe, right?
01:41And it was Ben Johnson's first year.
01:43And then the place that he left just fell on their face.
01:47So, that's why, to a little bit of a degree, I'm sort of buying into the hype a little bit
01:53with Chicago.
01:54I'm sort of thinking that maybe this team is real.
01:59And I don't know about winning a Super Bowl.
02:01It's the NFL.
02:01Crazy things happen.
02:02But maybe this is the Bears' year where they, you know, win 12 games, host a home game,
02:10make a shot – a deep shot toward the postseason.
02:12Maybe.
02:14No, total fade for me, Mish.
02:17I could not disagree more.
02:18I'll tell you why.
02:20Because last year, the reason he threw for so many yards and had so many yards
02:24is because they were trailing going into the second half in just about every game.
02:30But they also had tremendous variance luck.
02:34Do you think they're going to have a plus 20 or more in turnovers again this year?
02:40They had more come from behind second half wins than anybody.
02:45That stuff is going to regress.
02:48And I just – I don't know.
02:51I got to see it to believe it.
02:52He did have a chance to impress me, and he couldn't get it done against the Rams when
02:56it mattered the most.
02:57So, maybe something else will change there.
