00:26who's in it, but they are in, hat was in the ring, which I was really surprised by, as I

00:32Thursday, because I thought they were sitting it out and I don't know. Do you think something
00:36changed? Do you think they looked at this from every angle or that they realized, oh, that that's
00:41it for the Miami offer. We can beat that. Like what, what would have changed their mindset? Because I do
00:46not think they were in on Giannis at the beginning of the off season. All right, Ken, what was your
00:49first thought when you heard that report? How sad he sounds. It's amazing how sad these people, did you
00:55hear Keith talking about this in the midday show? It was like when Michael Hawley left,
00:59he was in tears. It was that level of like, there, I think they're really in on, I think

01:23We had John Corrales on last week and he expanded on what he was talking to us about almost to

01:29greater extent in this article he wrote. And his whole point was, you usually don't ever hear
01:35about the Celtics business when it comes to trades until it happens. Like they are elite
01:41at keeping things quiet. They're, they're, they made it an art. So why are we hearing so much about
01:47this now? Something doesn't make sense. And what's wild is that after I read the Corrales thing,
01:53Brian Windhorst, he said something that's kind of along the same lines.
01:58Tell us to Boston. Here's the thing about Boston. Boston doesn't deal with player agents.
02:03Boston does deals with teams. Boston keeps all of their business quiet. They hired Brad Stevens when
02:09they, when they traded Drew Holiday last year, when they sent Brad Stevens to the presidency,
02:14when they traded Chris Epps for Zingas, that stuff was quiet. The Boston's business doesn't get out
02:19there. Okay. So whatever Boston's doing, I promise you, we don't know. All right. And the assumption
02:26that, that, that they're going to trade Jalen Brown, I wouldn't assume that. So yeah, I think that's
02:31going to be the biggest thing that's going to happen between now and, um, and the, and the draft.
02:35That's obviously we're going to be watching, but, and maybe it'll happen in three days, but that's not,
02:39that's not my feel. I don't necessarily feel that.
02:41There's a lot of macho in my earphones. So I, I, okay. So when I hear that, it makes me

02:48that maybe somebody told Bill Simmons, somebody within the Celtics organization told Bill Simmons
02:55that the Celtics are in on it. When in actuality, they're planning that out there because they're
03:02trying to jack up the price for Giannis for Miami. Like they are trying to make sure that, well,
03:10they probably know that no matter what Giannis is going to Miami, but they want to make sure
03:14that Yon, that the Miami heat give up absolutely everything they can give up in order to do
03:19that. I want them broke by the end of this deal. Cause that's what it sounds like to me.
03:24If they truly wanted Giannis, you would not be hearing anything about this. Just judging
03:28from the track record that both wind horse and Corrales talk about, but the fact that it's
03:33out there and Bill Simmons is reporting it, jack up that price, baby.
03:38But you know what else is out there? Jalen Brown tweeting about rice, Jalen Brown putting his
03:43second house up for sale, which I know you hate. That wouldn't happen if it was just a
03:47ruse to try to get the price up. Well, unless Jalen's in on it, which would be devious, I guess.
03:51That would be, that's interesting. I can't imagine him being in on it. You know, maybe they just
03:56want Jalen to sweat a little bit, but they also, that is interesting because, you know, Miami
04:01is kind of, we've got a thing with Miami, right? I could see that it does. Is it the Celtic
04:05style to do this type of thing though, to kind of put out, you know, that's not their
04:10false. It's not, that's the only thing. It's not really their style, but nobody wants to
04:14admit they're trading Jalen Brown. It's happening. I'm sorry, people, this is happening. Why am
04:19I having a hard time? Just get my head around that. It makes sense. It's, it's time. There
04:22are no dynasties anymore in the NBA. This is the eighth different champion in eight years.
04:27We couldn't, Jokic couldn't do it. I mean, how many recent teams did we
04:30think maybe had a dynasty potential? A ton. You have to pivot and get away from the
04:35three point mess, which, which you are locked into with these, with this current
04:38lineup. All right. You think they're finally at that point? Yes. And Jalen is aware of
04:43it. That's why he's so active and he knows it's, it's, and now maybe he can pick
04:47where he goes. Maybe they're going to be good to him and say, we'll send you to
04:50Atlanta, your hometown team. I think that's maybe going on. You know what I also
04:53think? I think that after having guys who cover the Milwaukee Bucks come on our
04:58station and say, Giannis for Jalen, there's no way they would make that deal.
05:04Giannis is much better. I'm hearing that the Miami heat, all they're willing to
05:08offer right now is Tyler Harrow. And like, like what three first rounders, which, you
05:13know, they're right in the middle of the pack. If it's the Miami heat or, and if
05:16Giannis is there, then there'll be even worse. Doesn't that sound to me like that's
05:20kind of a bag of trash for Giannis Antetokounmpo? Oh yeah, absolutely. So maybe the value
05:25isn't anywhere near what they want for him. And part of it is kind of like with
05:30AJ Brown, with the, with the, with the Eagles. It's if, if he, if AJ Brown wants
05:34out, it kind of hamstrings the team on what they can get. It's the same thing
05:39with Milwaukee. Giannis wants out. It kind of hamstrings it. They're, they're
05:42going to, they're not going to get the best deal because they're forced to move
05:46him regardless. So they, they kind of got to take the best offer they can get and
05:51they best offer, you know, if everybody's kind of not low balling
05:54them, then it's going to be the worst low ball offer they get. You know what
05:57it made me think? Like when I heard that offer that a Miami is probably has
06:00put out there and a deal has not been made yet. It made me think, you think
06:04there's a way the Celtics can get them without getting rid of Jalen Brown?
06:07That would be something. That's the way to do it. Doesn't that make you think
06:10that when you hear that it's Tyler Harrow and three first round picks, you're
06:14sitting back and you're going, all right, can the Celtics cobble up enough to
06:18where they can keep the two Jays together and still get Giannis
06:22Attenecompo. Now, I don't think the Jays want to stay together. Do you think
06:25Tatum? Oh, if Giannis is in here? Absolutely. They do. I think they, if
06:28they found out that Giannis was going to be here and the two of them
06:31together, oh my God, you're the favorites in the East. Jalen can't
06:34handle two alphas, let alone three. How do you think he's going to accept
06:38his lot in life? He, the genie's out of the bottle. He had a full season
06:42with himself as the true number one. They can't go back to him time
06:45sharing with Tatum. It's gone. It's over. They have to make a move. And
06:49the big, I would love that, but that's, there's no way that is realistic.
06:53Right. So that's, that's where you're going to have to find out about
06:55ownership. Like who is this owner? We don't know yet. He's never been in a
06:58spot like this. So for any of us to make a prediction of which way is going
07:02to go, we're kind of speaking out of our ass, but this would be a hell of a
07:06test. Like if you're all in, because by the way, that is money worth
07:10investing. Like if you can keep both J's and you have Giannis, I mean, I, I, you
07:16are the favorite in the East. Well, I don't know. I just, cause I think you
07:18still need good role players and you can't have, you can't have really quality
07:23role players. If you have all three of those guys, those three are so good.
07:26And you've got guys like Pritchard on the cheap right now. I mean, I don't know
07:29what, whether he'd be involved in trades and, or anything like that. So we don't,
07:32we're right. It would basically be three guys. And then you just have to
07:35cobble up whatever you can around them, but you'd have to like the Knicks
07:38convince the Jalen Brunson of this team to take a hundred million dollars
07:41less. That's the Knicks success. That's the blueprint going forward.
07:44But with these guys locked in, I mean, cause you know, Tatum's obviously locked
07:48in to several more years. I know that there's this extension thing coming up
07:52with, with Jalen, but I don't think that that's a time where you can, unless
07:55they just all agreed to, to reformat their contracts. I'm telling you, because
08:00of what Jalen Brunson did, this could start like not start. You could return to a
08:06place where superstars will take a little bit less in order to win a
08:10championship.

08:27to hear that. I want them to hear, I want Jalen Brown to hear it. I want Jason Tatum to
08:31hear it. Look at how unselfish this dude was. He took less money and put a team
08:36that was cursed, except not by Dan Hauser, but they were cursed and could not win.
08:41And they got them a championship. Yeah. And maybe just maybe that's what they'll
08:46do. It's what the big three in Miami did. I think it was LeBron that took less money
08:50in order to have Dwayne Wade. Was it Dwayne or was it LeBron who took less money? One
08:53of the two did in order to get Chris Bosh and all three of them under the cap or be
08:57able to put a team around them. That's right. Your LeBron dream is still out there
09:00too. You could add that piece of that as the cherry on the Sunday. I got to say, I was
09:04with a lot of people over the weekend and I asked mostly everyone I saw, how do you
09:08feel about trading either Tatum or Brown for Giannis? I couldn't find one fan. Now, this
09:13is people probably from the city thinking with their heart more than their head, but no one
09:18liked it. And you know what? I kept hearing Boston teams doing what they always do, getting
09:24rid of homegrown talent, which is what Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum did.
09:27He's been here for nine years. I mean, it's been a hell of a run.
09:30Yeah. You know what though? To your point, the one thing that is kind of scary is thinking
09:34about if they do trade Jalen Brown, you're going to have a guy here who's 31 and he's
09:40injury prone. He's been suffering injuries, but he's also going to be playing with a guy
09:44who's just getting off of an injury. So like there's, that makes me a little nervous with
09:50just those two together. I'm still.
09:52Which team's better equipped to beat the Knicks? If the Knicks are now the standard and you need
09:56to beat them. We saw it on the court two years ago. Didn't go so well. You shot a lot

10:00threes in those first two games and blew two leads. Then we saw you lose in the first
10:03round with this duo together. You shot a lot of threes and all four of your losses and didn't
10:08go so well. You need someone who can impact the game at the rim. It's time for a change.

10:18Yeah. Honestly, if they don't get Giannis, I think you now pivot to something else. You
10:21go back to Atlanta with Jalen Johnson, or you try to find some other multiple pieces in
10:26return for Jalen Brown and try to win it with depth because I just, I just don't see at
10:31this point with these rumors out here, there's no way now Jalen's coming back.
