01:08What's the story in Bala Mori, where would you like to go?
01:14Bala Mori
01:15Here is Miss Hulia to tell us that story, but how does it all begin?
01:20Is it raining, sunny, windy, cloudy, playing outside the rain?
01:24Is today to stay at home to play, going to school or nursery?
01:29What's the story in Bala Mori, wouldn't you like to know?
01:33What's the story in Bala Mori, tell us where we will go?
01:43Hello, I'm Miss Hulia, how are you today?
01:48Oh, is that so?
01:50So, what's the story in Bala Mori?
01:54Well, today in Bala Mori, it's a wet day
01:59And everyone here is busy going to work and school
02:08So, I wonder what adventures we'll get up to today
02:13Just to hang up my coat
02:17Ouch!
02:19What was that?
02:22Oh, it's a fur cone
02:25Have you seen one of these before?
02:28Feels prickly
02:31I usually find them when I'm out on my walk in Bala Mori Wood
02:35Oh, yeah, that reminds me
02:38Josie and I are going to be taking the children for a walk in the woods today
02:45Oh, but it's much too wet for that now
02:50Ah, there's the school bus
02:52I wonder who will be coming to visit us at the Bala Mori nursery today
02:56There's Megan
02:57Good morning, Aisha
02:59Hello, Scott
03:00And who else, I wonder?
03:02And you
03:03Join in the fun too
03:08Everybody, everyone
03:10Come inside and join the fun
03:27Do you know why all the leaves are falling off the trees?
03:30Because it's autumn time
03:31That's right
03:34I think I heard a sound there
03:40Look, maybe we've got a visitor coming to the nursery
03:43We'll just go and see you
03:45Can you wait here?
03:46Back in a second
03:49Hello, Miss Winnie
03:50Hi, Josie
03:52Hello
03:55So, are you all ready for our woodland walk?
03:58Oh, dear
03:58I'm sorry
04:00I don't think we'll be able to go on the walk, Josie
04:02It's too wet
04:05Oh, yeah
04:07What a shame
04:09I'm sure the children are very disappointed
04:12They are
04:13I've been trying to think of something else to do instead
04:16Well, I could always tell them a story
04:18Oh, that's a great idea, Josie
04:19Oh, you could tell them a story about
04:22A walk in the woods
04:24Just because we can't go for a walk in the woods
04:27Doesn't mean we can't enjoy it through a story
04:30A story's good
04:31But it's a shame they can't feel what it's like to
04:34Smell the different scented flowers that grow there
04:38Mmm
04:40Oh
04:41Well, the smell of pine trees
04:44Wait a minute
04:45Maybe they can
04:47What do you mean?
04:48I mean, you could tell a story not just using words
04:51But sounds, pictures, movement and
04:55And
04:57Smell
04:59Smell
05:00Why not?
05:01It would be great
05:02Oh, yeah
05:04But where will I get the woodland smells from?
05:08Mmm
05:10I know
05:11Penny Pocket and Susie Sweet
05:14In the shop
05:15Do they sell woodland smells?
05:17Well, there's only one way to find out
05:18See you later, Miss Lily
05:21Bye, Josie
05:23So
05:24I wonder which coloured house
05:26Josie will visit first today
05:34Can you see all the different coloured houses sitting by the sea?
05:39Well, there's part of the story in Balamori
05:43Asked which is the house for me
05:45Is it red?
05:47Is it white?
05:48Which coloured house do you think is right?
05:51Pink, yellow, green?
05:53Orange or blue?
05:54Which coloured house are we going to?
06:02Which coloured house are we going to?
06:05Tell me what do you think?
06:08Which coloured house are we going to?
06:11Tell me what do you think?
06:14It's the red house!
06:18Yes, it's the red house
06:19Because that's where Penny and Susie live
06:25Oh, hi there, Josie
06:27Hi, Susie
06:28What can I do for you?
06:29I'm looking for some woodland smells
06:32Smells?
06:33Yeah, you see
06:34I'm inventing a new way of telling a story
06:37So the children at the nursery
06:38Can get that feeling of what it's like
06:41To go on a woodland walk
06:43Oh, I see
06:44The stories are about a walk that you took in the woods
06:46Oh, no, no, no
06:47Not me
06:48Um
06:49Or maybe a fox
06:51Or a badger
06:53Or
06:57A hen?
06:58Yes
06:58Why not?
07:01A hen who's looking for somewhere to lay her egg
07:05Well, we've got the hen
07:07Oh, we'll need some straw for the hen
07:10Oh, yes
07:11Now, why do we got some straw?
07:14Here we are
07:16Ah
07:16Yes
07:17Drinking straws
07:19That's just what you need
07:21Oh
07:21They'll just do
07:24Lovely
07:24Oh
07:25And then
07:26She hears fallen leaves
07:29Crunching under her foot
07:35The sound of rustling leaves
07:40And the smell of pine trees
07:48Take some smelly, pine, fresh, foam smell
07:56Right
07:57Oh
07:58We'll need something to give us that feeling of flying
08:03Because the hen flutters up to the tree branch
08:07Searching for a place to lay her egg
08:14Yes
08:15You could use some fly swats
08:18As wings
08:19Beating
08:21Ah, that one
08:23Now
08:24What happens next in the story?
08:27Oh
08:27Well, the hen spies a lovely spot for her nest
08:32So she flutters down
08:36And lays her egg
08:39Oh, yes
08:40Well, we've got plenty of those
08:41Look, see
08:42Oh
08:43Eggs
08:43Oh
08:47Oops
08:49What a mess
08:52What on earth are you up to?
08:55I just wanted to invent a new way of telling a story
08:58So the children at the nursery can get that feeling of what it's like to walk in the woods
09:05But all you've done is make a mess
09:07I know, I'm really sorry
09:10But how am I going to invent a new, less messy story?
09:17Well, who in Balamori is good at inventing things?
09:23Archie!
09:29I'm Archie, the inventor
09:31I know how things are done
09:34I can make absolutely anything
09:37Inventing things is fun
09:39I'm always on the lookout
09:42For things that I might use
09:45Collecting odds and ends from all of my friends
09:48To make a little treat for you
09:55Take a box
09:56And some yoghurt pop tops
09:58Hey, it's a car
10:01Inventing with Archie is never a bore
10:04Come on, let's make some more
10:06Build a rocket
10:07From a squidgy bottle
10:09And stick on bits of junk
10:12Here's the crazy clip-clop puppet
10:14Dance and do the honky-tonk
10:22I'm Archie, the inventor
10:24I know how things are done
10:28I can make absolutely anything
10:30Inventing things is fun
10:32I'm always on the lookout
10:35For things that I might use
10:38Collecting odds and ends from all of my friends
10:41To make a little treat for you
10:44If you need something made
10:45And don't know what to do
10:46Then Archie is the one for you
10:49Call Archie and I'll help you through
10:52Call Archie and I'll help you through
11:00Don't worry, Nobby, we'll get this untangled in new time
11:03Archie, I need your help
11:05Oh, come in Josie
11:07So, what's the story in Balamori?
11:11Well
11:15Miss Julie and I were planning to take the children at the nursery
11:19For a walk in the woods
11:20But they can't go because it's such a horrible wet day
11:25So I thought I could invent a new way of telling them a story
11:31By making them feel what it's like to be in the woods
11:36I went to Pocket and Sweets to buy some things to help me
11:41Susie gave me some crisps to make the sound of rustling leaves
11:45Some shaving foam that smelled like pine trees
11:49And some fly swats which were like wings in the air
11:53But all that happened was I made a terrible mess
11:59So, can you help me invent a new way of telling a story
12:04So the children can really get the feeling of what it's like to be in the woods?
12:09Simple
12:09So, you need one of my latest inventions
12:12I call it the feeling machine
12:14The feeling machine?
12:16Well, that sounds great
12:17Now
12:19Here it is
12:25Right
12:26Now
12:28You put your hands in these holes
12:29And I'll give you a demonstration
12:30Okay
12:34Now, tell me
12:36What does this feel like?
12:38Oh!
12:38Oh, it's fine
12:42Gritty
12:44It's like sad at the seaside
12:46Right
12:47How does this feel?
12:50Oh, it's all wet
12:53And it's knobbly and slimy
12:57It's like seaweed
12:59Exactly
13:00Because this is my seaside feeling box
13:02And with this machine, the possibilities are endless
13:06You can either use the real thing or something that's like it
13:11You see?
13:12This is the sand
13:13And this string
13:16And this string
13:43Was the seaweed
13:43The story blanket
13:44The story blanket
13:46That's right
13:47It's big and round and it's perfect for feely stories
13:58Who's ready for a story?
14:00Me?
14:02Okay, first you're going to help me unfold the story blanket
14:07Okay
14:08Okay
14:08Let's see
14:09Right
14:12The story is about Hillary the hen
14:17Here comes Hillary
14:19I want you to feel this
14:23Don't look at it
14:24But feel it
14:24Feel it
14:26And pass it on
14:27What does it feel like?
14:30Fluffy
14:31Fluffy
14:32Very good
14:33Now Hillary was tired of scratching around in the farmyard
14:37That she decided to go for a walk in the woods
14:40So she went out of the bright sunshine in amongst the dark trees
14:46Shall we put our heads underneath the blanket?
14:49Oh, it's dark
14:50I can't see anything
14:51Oh, it's really dark
14:55Oh, it was so dark that she couldn't see where she was going
14:58And all she wanted to do was to find somewhere to lay her egg
15:03So she spotted a clearing from a distance
15:06And made her way out of the darkness
15:09The first thing she saw in the clearing was a pile of leaves
15:14Are you ready?
15:15Put your hands up, please
15:19What does it feel like?
15:23Leaves
15:23She thought she could lay her eggs there
15:26But the leaves were a bit damp
15:28So she looked somewhere else
15:30Oh, but she trod on something quite sharp and prickly
15:39Ouch!
15:40Screamed Hillary and hurried off somewhere else
15:43So she decided to fly up onto the branches of the tree
15:47So let's flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap
15:50My god, my god
15:55My god
15:56And suddenly she found a soft moss bag
16:01Oh, very soft.
16:04Oh, but it's soft, isn't it?
16:09It's nice and soft.
16:11Hillary was so happy that she decided to lay her speckled egg.
16:19Look at that.
16:20Oh, that's Hillary's egg.
16:32So, what was the story in Ballymorey today?
16:38Well...
16:40First of all, it was a really wet day,
16:43which meant the children weren't able to go for a walk with Josie to the woods.
16:48Josie decided to tell them a story instead.
16:51A story that would help them know what it really feels like to be in the woods.
16:57She tried to buy some things from Pocket & Sweets
17:00to help her tell the story.
17:02But instead of finding a new way of telling a story,
17:06Josie just ended up making a terrible mess.
17:11She thought that Archie might be able to help her.
17:15Archie showed Josie his feely invention.
17:18It was a special box that he could put objects into for Josie to touch.
17:24The box only had one set of hand holes, though.
17:28So, Archie told Josie about his special story blanket.
17:34When they arrived at the nursery with the story blanket,
17:37all the children sat underneath it.
17:40Josie told the children the story of the hen called Hillary,
17:44who went for a walk in the woods looking for somewhere to lay her egg.
17:49Archie had lots of special things for the children to feel under the story blanket,
17:53so they felt they were having a walk in the woods.
17:56They had a great time.
18:03Maybe I should put this back into the cupboard
18:05for the next time we use the story blanket.
18:12So, that was the story in Balamori.
18:15Bye!
18:24Ba-la-mo-ri, ba-la-mo-ri.
18:31What's the story in Balamori?
18:33Where would you like to know?
18:35What's the story in Balamori?
18:37Where would you like to go?
18:43Ba-la-mo-ri.
18:50What's the story in Balamori?
18:52Wouldn't you like to know?
18:58Ba-la-mo-ri.
19:02What's the story in Balamori?
19:04Wouldn't you like to know?
19:06What's the story in Balamori?
19:08Tell us where we go!
