04:08Look
04:08Hi PC PLOAM
04:10Hello, Miss Hooley. Hello, everyone.
04:14So, where is he?
04:15Who?
04:16The sheepdog.
04:17Oh, yes, well, I thought it was best that I...
04:19Oh, you didn't tie him up outside, did you?
04:22No, no, no, I haven't tied him up outside, no, I...
04:24Oh, he's not digging up the flowers in the nursery garden.
04:26No, he's not digging up flowers either.
04:28Well, where is he then?
04:30Well, you see, I don't think Sandy the sheepdog
04:32is going to be able to come to the nursery today.
04:34Why?
04:35Well, Mr Mackenzie needs his help to round up the sheep on the farm.
04:38Oh, well, we were all looking forward to seeing him.
04:42His children will be so disappointed.
04:46Disappointed?
04:47Oh, dear.
04:50I know, I could pop over and see Archie.
04:53Archie? I didn't know he's a dog.
04:54Oh, well, he doesn't, but he could make one.
04:57Make one?
04:58Hmm, yes.
04:58Oh, and then I could use that one to explain
05:00how a sheepdog rounds up the sheep.
05:01Oh, that's a fantastic idea.
05:04I'll see you later.
05:05Bye.
05:08So, which coloured house do you think PC Plum will visit first today?
05:17Can you see all the different coloured houses sitting by the sea?
05:23Well, there's part of the story and Balamori asks,
05:27Which is the house for me?
05:29Is it yellow?
05:31Is it red?
05:32Or should we go to the greenhouse instead?
05:35White, orange, blue or pink?
05:37Or which coloured house do you think?
05:40Blue house?
05:42Yellow house?
05:43Orange house or red?
05:46White house?
05:48Green or pink?
05:49Or which coloured house do you think?
05:57Which coloured house are we going to?
06:00Tell me what do you think?
06:03Which coloured house are we going to?
06:06Tell me what do you think?
06:09It's the pink house!
06:12Yes, it's the pink house.
06:14Because that's where Archie lives.
06:18OK, Nobby.
06:19Now, you take this one.
06:20And I'll take this one.
06:22Now, I've got to get it to...
06:22The string is tight, all right?
06:24Now, I want you to say something into there, OK?
06:26Go on, speak.
06:27Hello, Archie.
06:29Oh, goodness, Nobby, that was very good.
06:33Oh, sorry.
06:34Palmas, hello.
06:35What are you doing here?
06:36Well, I was asking a favour.
06:39Oh, ask away.
06:40Well, I'm supposed to be taking Sandy the sheepdog to the nursery to meet the children,
06:44but I don't think he's going to be able to come.
06:47You see, he has to round up sheep on the farm.
06:49So I was wondering if you could help me rustle up a sheepdog of her own.
06:54Maybe a puppet sheepdog.
06:56A puppet sheepdog?
06:58Well, that's quite a challenge.
06:59Let's see what we can do.
07:01Oh, great.
07:01Now, here we go.
07:06This could be the body.
07:10We could use these for the legs.
07:13Oh, and we could use this for the head.
07:19Oh, yes.
07:19Yes.
07:20Right, so what else do we need?
07:24Ah, yes.
07:25We need two flapping ears and a wagging tail.
07:28Oh, yes.
07:29Okay.
07:30Now, these could be the ears.
07:33And we could use this for the tail.
07:34Brilliant.
07:37Could you fill these in?
07:40Oh.
07:42Oh, pop them through the right.
07:45Okay.
07:48There's one.
07:51And then there's two.
07:53Very good at this, fellas.
07:58There we are.
07:59Oh, yes, and the head.
08:01There we are.
08:01Thank you, fellas.
08:03Yeah.
08:06So stick it on.
08:11Mind you, fellas.
08:12And here we are.
08:14Ready to go and round up some sheep.
08:16Well, it doesn't really look like a sheep dog, does it?
08:19Oh, it'll be fine once it's had a lick of paint.
08:21Oh, yes, paint.
08:22Oh, can we have some black and white, please, and some brushes?
08:25Brushes I can do, but I can't do black or white paint.
08:28But I'll have to use blue.
08:29A blue sheep dog?
08:30Oh, yes, you're quite right.
08:32Who's ever seen a blue sheep dog?
08:34We'll have to use yellow.
08:36But it'll look like a four-legged canary.
08:37I'm sorry, Plumless, but I don't have any black or white paint.
08:40What am I going to do?
08:42Who can help me?
08:43Well, if I was looking for paint on Balamori, there's only one person I'd ask.
08:48Spencer!
08:54I'm Spencer, that's my name.
08:56Painting and music are my thing.
08:58So many colours, so much fun.
09:01Making friends with everyone.
09:07Climbing up a musical ladder.
09:10Brushin' and I just can't stop.
09:12It's so bright.
09:13Make your little eyes go pop.
09:15Got colors that you like.
09:17On the back of my painter's bike.
09:19Who knows who we might meet.
09:21Riding down this rainbow street.
09:28Climbing up a musical ladder.
09:30Brushin' and I just can't stop.
09:32It's so bright.
09:34Shinin' in the sunshine.
09:35Everyone's a special friend of mine.
09:37So much fun.
09:38Make your little eyes go pop.
09:47I got tambourines, cymbals and castanets.
09:50Rockers and marindos and a clarinet.
09:53Really doesn't matter what you've got.
09:55You can make music from an old baby.
10:02Climbing up a musical ladder.
10:04Brushin' and I just can't stop.
10:06It's so bright down and by the seaside.
10:09Pretty-ass picture.
10:10Come on, take a ride.
10:11So much fun.
10:12Make your little eyes go pop.
10:24Oh, Spencer, thank goodness you're home.
10:26Oh, hi, PC Plum.
10:27So, what's the story in Balamori?
10:30Well.
10:33I promised Miss Julia and the children that I'd bring along the farmer's sheepdog, Sandy, to see them today.
10:39Unfortunately, Sandy has to round up some sheep on the farm, but he might be able to make it along
10:44later if he finishes in time.
10:46Just in case he can't, I thought it would be a good idea to make a puppet sheepdog to take
10:50Sandy's place.
10:51Archie helped me make it out of old cardboard rolls and yoghurt pots, but when we finished, it didn't really
10:57look like a sheepdog.
11:00See?
11:01Ah, I see what you mean.
11:03It needs a little...
11:04Colour?
11:05That's it.
11:07So, what colour do you want to paint?
11:10Say, what's its name?
11:11Oh, name?
11:13Well, I made him in such a rush, I haven't given him a name.
11:16Hmm.
11:17How about calling it Yoghurt Pot?
11:22Yes!
11:23Oh, Archie would like that.
11:24Yoghurt Pot.
11:25Oh, yes, that's perfect.
11:26Great. So, what colour do you want me to paint old Yoghurt Pot the sheepdog?
11:32Black and white, please.
11:33Ah, black and white it is.
11:36Let's see.
11:37I think it's a great idea making a puppet dog.
11:39I mean, that way, you can teach the children on what a sheepdog does on the farm.
11:44What it does?
11:46Yeah, you know, rounding up the sheep, herding them in the pens.
11:50Oh, right, yes.
11:51Oh, no! Sheep!
11:53Oh, I forgot to ask Archie to make some sheep for Yoghurt Pot to round up.
11:56Oh, not to worry.
11:57Puppets cheap are easy to make.
11:59I'll show you.
12:00Oh, great.
12:03Well, these cotton balls make brilliant fluffy sheep's wool.
12:07Add a bit of string.
12:11That.
12:14There we have it.
12:16Oh, and then we need two eyes.
12:20So these dots would be great for that.
12:22Yes.
12:22Look at that.
12:23There.
12:25And a dot here.
12:29There you have it.
12:31One puppet sheep.
12:33That looks great.
12:34We can make loads of them if you'd like.
12:36This is going to be fun.
12:37Yeah.
12:37Come on, Spencer.
12:38Let's get to work.
12:39Okay.
12:44Oh, here, Yoghurt Pot.
12:48I think I better give Yoghurt Pot some training before he meets the children.
12:52Right, in we go.
12:54Here we go, Yoghurt Pot.
13:07Okay, Yoghurt Pot.
13:08Let's have a look at a real sheepdog in action so we know what to do back at the nursery.
13:12Oh, look.
13:13There's Sandy.
13:14And the farmer tells him what to do by whistling.
13:17Then Sandy guides all the sheep to wherever the farmer wants the sheep to go.
13:23Daddy now.
13:25He's a clever dog, isn't he?
13:27Right, come on, Yoghurt Pot.
13:28It's your turn.
13:29Come on.
13:31Let it do, Jan.
13:32Let it do.
13:32Let it do.
13:33Let it do, John.
13:35Come on, Yoghurt Pot.
13:37He's a good boy.
13:38Oh, now, now, sit.
13:39Sit.
13:41Sit.
13:42Sit.
13:43Good boy.
13:44Now, I need to make a pen for the sheep.
13:47Oh, I can use these stones, I think.
13:49Right, now, I'll make a line along this way, like that.
13:54And I can put one down here.
13:57That's us.
13:58I need to make a door here, I think.
13:59So I'll put this along this way, like that.
14:02I've got all these stones.
14:04There we go.
14:06Oh, hello, Susie.
14:07I didn't see you there.
14:09Investigating, PC Plum.
14:10Well, um, not exactly.
14:12Leaving no stone unturned.
14:15Oh, Susie, I was wondering if you could give me a hand.
14:17Oh, I'd love to.
14:18Could you hold these sheep for me?
14:22You see, I'm training Yoghurt Pot before I take them to the nursery to meet the children.
14:25Right, come on, boy.
14:26Come on again.
14:27Come on.
14:27Yes, a good boy.
14:28What do I do know?
14:30Well, um, Yoghurt Pot has to round up all the sheep into the pen.
14:33Right, OK, here we go.
14:35Yes.
14:47Oh, well done, Yoghurt Pot.
14:50That's all the sheep in the pen.
14:53Well, I think I can take Yoghurt Pot to meet the children now.
14:56What a good dog.
14:58Well, thanks very much, Susie.
15:00Bye.
15:01Bye.
15:08Now, who would like to see P.C. Plum's sheepdog?
15:13Oh, me, me.
15:15Oh, thank you, Miss Willie.
15:16Oh, now I've got, this is my dog, and he's a special kind of dog.
15:21His name's Yoghurt Pot, and he's a sheepdog.
15:24Do you like my sheepdog?
15:26Mm-hmm.
15:27And he helps the farmer round up all the sheep on the hills and in the fields on the farm.
15:31That's great, isn't it?
15:32Now, I've got all these sheep.
15:33Look at all this.
15:34Who wants to help me with a puppet sheep?
15:36Whee!
15:37Whee!
15:37Take that one there.
15:42Now, I need your help with this one because the sheepdog brings up all the sheep on the
15:47farm, and he does this by his whistle, like this.
15:53And then the sheepdog goes this way.
15:57Oh, and then it goes this way.
15:58And then we have to put all the sheep together.
16:00Let's bring all the sheep in together like a wee flock of sheep.
16:02And you come.
16:03And when all the sheep are in the pen, the farmer closes the gate, just like that, and then
16:11they all go home.
16:13Isn't that a great story?
16:14Who wants to pat the dog?
16:15Who wants to pat?
16:16Oh, there's your bit.
16:18Oh.
16:20Thank you, big sheep.
16:22That's not the deal.
16:24Okay.
16:25Do you think the children would like to pat a real sheepdog?
16:28Oh, I think, would you like to pat a real sheepdog?
16:30Yeah.
16:31That would be great.
16:32Oh, my goodness.
16:33It's Sandy the sheepdog.
16:35Oh, he made it after all.
16:36Look.
16:37It's Sandy.
16:38Oh, ho, ho.
16:39Oh, it's heavy, yeah.
16:42Sandy.
16:51What a great day.
16:56PC Plum was supposed to bring the farmer's sheepdog
16:58to visit the children at the nursery today,
17:01but he wasn't sure that Sandy the sheepdog would be able to come along
17:04because he had to help the farmer round up some sheep on the farm.
17:08So rather than disappoint the children,
17:10PC Plum thought Archie could help.
17:14Archie helped him to make a puppet sheepdog
17:16from some old cardboard rolls and a yoghurt pot.
17:20But when they finished making it,
17:22it didn't really look like a sheepdog.
17:24It needed a dab of paint.
17:26So PC Plum hot-footed it over to see Spencer,
17:30who always had lots of paints.
17:32And as PC Plum had hoped,
17:34he had the perfect colours for yoghurt pot the sheepdog.
17:37As well as lots of cotton wool
17:39to make a puppet sheep for yoghurt pot to round up,
17:42just like real sheepdog would.
17:45Susie helped PC Plum train yoghurt pot to round up the sheep.
17:51We all had great fun playing with them at the nursery,
17:54especially when Sandy, the real sheepdog, arrived.
18:02I'll just pop him back into the cupboard.
18:08So, that was the story in Balamori today.
18:12Bye!
18:19Bye!
18:27Balamori, Balamori,
18:29what's the story in Balamori?
18:31But who'd you like to know?
18:33What's the story in Balamori?
18:35But who'd you like to know?
18:43Balamori!
18:48What's the story in Balamori?
18:50But who'd you like to know?
19:00What's the story in Balamori?
19:02But who'd you like to know?
19:04What's the story in Balamori?
19:06Tell us where we will go!
19:07I'm sure I love you!
19:10I laughed it!
19:11The story in Balamori
