03:33Hello BC Blunt
03:34Hello Miss Fooley
03:35Hello everyone
03:44BC Blunt, what are you doing?
03:45Oh, I'm practising my creeping
03:48Creeping
03:48Creeping?
03:49What for?
03:51Well, you know how I love to go on nature walks
03:53Well, I have to creep up very quietly on the animals
03:56So that I don't disturb them
03:57Oh, that must be quite tricky
04:00Because most animals are quite nervous
04:02And run away when they're frightened
04:03Well, that's just it Miss Fooley
04:05And that's why I have to practise my creeping
04:07Look, I'll demonstrate
04:08Now, when you're bird watching
04:10It's vital that you don't trip over
04:18And it's very important
04:20That you don't step on any noisy branches
04:26I'm sorry Miss Fooley
04:28But it's also very important
04:30That you don't bump into any tree trunks
04:34Miss Fooley, I'm sorry
04:36Oh dear
04:45Miss Fooley
04:45Oh, you were creeping up on me
04:50That was very good, I must say
04:53Now, let's imagine
04:54There's a Robin Redbreast up beside your kettle
04:57It's my turn to go and creep up on him
05:05What do you think?
05:06Pretty impressive, eh?
05:08Oh, yes
05:09Well done PC Plum
05:10You are going to be doing more practice sessions
05:13Oh, well it's funny you should ask that
05:15Because that's exactly what I'm going to be doing
05:17Spencer has made me some cut out animals
05:19And I'm going to practise creeping up on them
05:20Oh, speaking of which
05:22I better go and see Spencer
05:23I don't want to keep on waiting
05:24Or the animals
05:26Bye now
05:28Bye PC Plum
05:30So, which colour house
05:32Do you think PC Plum will visit first today?
05:39Can you see all the different coloured houses
05:42Sitting by the sea
05:44Well, there's part of the story
05:47And Ballymore he asks
05:48Which is the house for me
05:51Is it yellow, is it red
05:53Or should we go to the greenhouse instead
05:56Red, white, orange, blue or pink
05:59Or which coloured house do you think?
06:07Which coloured house are we going to?
06:10Tell me what do you think?
06:13Which coloured house are we going to?
06:16Tell me what do you think?
06:18It's the orange house
06:21Yes, it's the orange house
06:23Because that's where Spencer lives
06:28Oh, hey ho Spencer
06:30Hey PC Plum
06:31I was just putting the finishing touches on this badger
06:34It's stripy face looks splendid
06:36Don't you think?
06:36Splendid indeed Spencer
06:37But I must say
06:38It's very kind of you
06:39To paint all these lovely animals
06:41Oh, it's my pleasure
06:42Loved it
06:43You've made a terrific job
06:44They could almost be real
06:47Hey, you're right
06:48I've got an idea
06:49I've got an idea
06:50Why don't we set them out all over the place?
06:52We could start with this blue tit
06:55Right there in the tree
06:57Oh great
06:57What next Plum?
06:59Oh, the badger
07:00They like to hide in holes underground
07:03Hmm, I think I know how we can do that
07:08We can make a cosy hole for him with these cushions
07:11Oh, great idea
07:12One year ago
07:14Lovely
07:15Oh, now, next is the duck
07:17Oh, now she likes water
07:19Do you have anything we can use for a pond, Spencer?
07:23How about this newspaper?
07:26Oh, no, no, no, that's too clackly
07:30Aha
07:32My paint palette
07:34Oh, no, no, that's too messy
07:35Oh, you're right
07:36Hmm
07:37Hmm
07:40Ah
07:41How about this silver tray?
07:43Oh, now that's perfect
07:45Oh, great
07:47Oh, now I can practise my creeping skills
07:50Now remember
07:51When you're
07:52You have to be quiet
07:53When you're creeping up in animals in the woods
07:55One slightest noise and whoosh, off they go
07:58OK, Plum, go on, show me your stuff
08:00Well, it's like this
08:02And this
08:04I see, I think
08:06Oh, I know
08:07Here we are
08:08You hold the blue tip, Spencer
08:09And I'll creep up on you
08:11and remember to move if i make a noise right okay
08:23how can i creep up on you if you keep moving but you said to move every time you make
08:28a noise
08:28and you made a racket did i yes you made a huge noise a terrible noise a noise so loud
08:35any animal would run away a blue tit wouldn't hang around for a second neither would a duck
08:39or a badger. Oh dear. I suppose you're right, Spencer.
08:44My creeping skills are a bit rusty. Maybe I need someone to show me how to move gracefully
08:50and lightly. I think you do, PC Plum. But who in Balamori
08:55is light and graceful and moves easily? Well, there's certainly only one person I
09:00know who fits the bill. Hmm. Of course! Josie! I'll go and see Josie jump.
09:12Josie, jump is my aim. Dancing and sport are my games. I'm always feeling rhythm. It
09:23jingles in my toes. It tingles through my body. Come on and have a go. Everybody try kicking.
09:30Everybody try bouncing. Everybody try throwing. Everybody try jumping. Sometimes I get the
09:38feeling. I want to jump up high. I've got to keep from running. So far, I think I'll
09:44fly. Everybody jump up a little higher with your hands. Jump up a little higher for a goal.
09:53Everybody try kicking. Everybody try bouncing. Everybody try throwing. Everybody try jumping.
10:00Everybody try jumping. Sometimes I get the feeling when getting near a hoop. The ball just keeps
10:06on bouncing. And then I loop the loop. Everybody jump up a little higher with your hands. Jump up a
10:15little higher.
10:15Score a goal! Score a goal!
10:17Jump up a little higher with your hands. Jump up a little higher. Score a goal. Score a goal!
10:26Josie, jump is my name. Dancing and sport are my game. I'm always feeling rhythm. It jingles in my toes.
10:37It tingled through my body, come on and have a go
10:49Oh, hi PC Plant.
10:51Hi Josie.
10:52So, what's the story in Vallamore?
10:54Well, you know how I love to go birdwatching and on nature trails.
10:58Well.
11:03This morning I called on Miss Hooley.
11:04I showed her how good I was at creeping up on birds and animals
11:08without them seeing or hearing me.
11:10But I'm not as good as I thought I was.
11:13So, I went to Spencer's to practice on some cut-out animals he'd painted for me.
11:18They were really beautiful.
11:20A blue tit.
11:22A badger.
11:24And a duck.
11:25But I made so much noise that Spencer said that I'd frightened all the animals away in no time.
11:33So, that's why I've come to see you.
11:35If anyone can teach me how to move quietly, you can.
11:39Oh, I'll be delighted to help you PC Plum.
11:42Oh, moving gracefully is the easiest thing to do in the world.
11:46You just need to be fit and to find your balance.
11:49Let's start with a warm-up.
11:50Start by raising your arms like a bird raises its wings.
11:56Up and down.
11:58Oh, I'm sorry, Josie.
11:59One more time.
12:01Up and down.
12:05Now, let's balance on one leg like a flamingo.
12:19Oh, perhaps balancing is not your thing, PC Plum.
12:22I know.
12:23Why don't we try some ballet?
12:25Move like this.
12:26And like that.
12:28And like this.
12:30And like that.
12:31Oh, I don't seem to be getting the hang of this.
12:34I'm just so clumsy.
12:35Oh, don't worry, PC Plum.
12:37I know.
12:38Why don't we dance together?
12:40I'll put the music on and that will help you get into the rhythm.
12:43Oh, right.
12:47Hey.
12:49One, two, three.
12:50One, two, three.
12:52One, two, three.
12:54One, two, three.
12:55One, two.
12:56I think you're starting to get the hang of this.
12:58One, two, three.
13:00You're right, Josie.
13:01I can start to feel the rhythm.
13:03Oh, you're getting into the groove.
13:05Oh, oh.
13:06Oh.
13:07Yes, very good, PC Plum.
13:09But I think you need to slow it right down.
13:13That's it.
13:15Slower and slower and even slower.
13:22Good.
13:23Now, you're alone in the woods and you can see a deer just ahead of you.
13:29You move very slowly and very quietly.
13:38You move nearer and nearer and still the deer can't see you.
14:16Well done, PC Plum.
14:16I can hear you.
14:17Oh.
14:18I know.
14:19Why don't we go to the nursery?
14:21Oh, the children will love to join in the creeping game.
14:24And I know just the game.
14:26Oh, what's that, Josie?
14:27Grandmother's footsteps.
14:36I know.
14:37Hi, everyone.
14:38Hello.
14:38Let's come and see you.
14:40I know.
14:41Josie, jump and PC Plum.
14:43Do you know why they're here today?
14:46They're here to help us play a really good game called Grandma's Footsteps, and what
14:53we need you to do in Grandma's Footsteps is practise your creeping skills, OK?
14:58So we need you all to get up and stand in a line so I can see you all in
15:03position for
15:03Grandma's Footsteps.
15:04Could you come and line up for me?
15:07Grandma's going to go for a wee sleep now, I don't want to be woken up, OK?
15:21I'm sure I heard a noise there, very good.
15:26Oh, there's a noise there.
15:33We need to see if Josie jumps tickling.
15:39She is so...
15:40Right, we need to go back to the staff.
15:44So that's her going for a sleep.
15:56Very good.
15:59Oh, never.
16:01Oh, never.
16:05Whoa, whoa!
16:06Don't give her a big clap.
16:08Would you like to be the Grandma?
16:10Oh...
16:11OK, you sure?
16:12Yeah.
16:13All right, so, give us a wee minute to all get back into line.
16:15Oh, this is brilliant.
16:17OK.
16:36That was great fun, but I think that PC Plum was especially good at creeping up on Grandma.
16:42At last, I've learned to creep up quietly.
16:55Shh! Did you hear me creeping there?
17:00That game was such fun.
17:03So, what was the story in Balamori today?
17:10PC Plum came to see me this morning to show me his creeping skills.
17:14I didn't think they were up to much, but I didn't like to say.
17:19So, I was glad when he went to see Spencer.
17:22He painted some beautiful cut-out animals for PC Plum to practice on.
17:27PC Plum tried his best, but Spencer thought he was still too clumsy and too noisy to get really close
17:33to the animals without scaring them.
17:36So, PC Plum went off to see Josie jump, to ask her if she could teach him how to move
17:41gracefully and quietly.
17:44Josie put on some music and taught PC Plum to dance, and before long he was creeping as quietly as
17:50a mouse.
17:52Then they came to the nursery, and we all had a great game of Grandmother's footsteps.
17:57And who was best at creeping up?
17:59PC Plum, of course.
18:04I'll just pop these back into the cupboard.
18:11So, that was the story in Balamori.
18:14I'll see you next time.
18:16Bye!
18:22Bye!
18:30Balamori, Balamori, what's the story in Balamori?
18:34Boys would like to know, what's the story in Balamori?
18:37Boys would like to know.
18:50Balamori, what's the story in Balamori?
18:53Boys would like to know, what's the story in Balamori?
19:08Tell us where we go!
