The Shah Alam High Court has fixed July 8 for case management in a defamation lawsuit filed by former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki against businessman Albert Tei.

The matter is fixed before deputy registrar Nur Hidayah Abd Mutalib.

00:22Azam filed the writ of summons on Monday, alleging that Tay had defamed him through a podcast published on several
00:28platforms, including YouTube, YouTube Shorts and Tay's own social media accounts.
00:34According to the statement of claim, the podcast was published on May 13 on Tay's YouTube channel and was accessible
00:41to the public.
00:43Two other individuals, identified as Alif and Rafida Ibrahim, also appeared in the program.
00:49Azam denied all allegations made against him, stating that he had never met or communicated with Tay, except during a
00:56meeting with the businessman's lawyer on January 20 last year.
01:00He described the allegations as false, baseless and defamatory, and claimed they were not made spontaneously, but were part of
01:09a program that was deliberately arranged, prepared and controlled by the defendant.
01:13Azam is seeking a declaration that the statements were defamatory, as well as general, aggravated and exemplary damages, interest and
01:23legal costs.
01:24He is also seeking an injunction to prevent further publication of the statements and a court order requiring their removal
01:31from all relevant online platforms within seven days.
