03:44Hi, Miss Hooley
03:46Hi, guys
03:47Hiya!
03:49You wanted to see me?
03:50Yes, I need your help
03:56Well, the children keep asking when the bulbs they planted are going to grow
04:00Oh, and make the garden look pretty
04:02Oh, I see
04:04And they were really disappointed when I told them it wouldn't be until next spring
04:08Hmm, that is a long time to wait
04:10I know
04:12Can you think of a way to help cheer them up, Spencer?
04:15Well, let me think
04:20Bright, happy colours always cheer me up
04:24Reds, yellows, oranges
04:26Hmm
04:27Why don't we paint a picture?
04:30One that's colourful
04:32Ah, but they've painted lots of pictures already
04:36Ah, but not like this one
04:38We can paint a garden
04:42One we can watch and help to grow
04:45A garden?
04:47Yeah
04:47And I know just what we need to make it happen
04:50Sponges
04:51Lots of them
04:53Sponges?
04:53Yes, old sponges
04:55Oh, but I haven't got any old sponges
04:57Hmm
04:59Where can we find old sponges?
05:03Well
05:04Edie McCready uses a sponge to clean her bus
05:07Maybe she'll have some old ones
05:09Yeah, great
05:11I'll nip over there
05:12And what do you need sponges for?
05:15Wait
05:16And see
05:17I'm off to Edie's
05:20Okay
05:23So
05:24Which coloured house do you think Spencer will visit first today?
05:29Can you see all the different coloured houses
05:33Sitting by the sea?
05:35Well this part of the story in Ballymore
05:38He asks which is the house for me
05:41Is it green?
05:43Is it red?
05:44Or should I go to the white house instead?
05:47Yellow, pink, orange or blue?
05:50Which coloured house am I going to?
05:53Which coloured house am I going to?
05:53Green house?
05:54Red house?
05:56Orange or pink?
05:58Yellow house?
06:00Blue or white?
06:01Tell me what do you think?
06:10Which coloured house are we going to?
06:13Tell me what you think?
06:15Which coloured house are we going to?
06:18Tell me what do you think?
06:22Blue!
06:25Yes, it's the blue house because that's where Edie McCready lives
06:32Hi Edie!
06:33Oh hello Spencer, what are you up to?
06:36Well I've come to ask you for a favour
06:38Well, depends what it is.
06:41Well, Miss Hooley asked me to think of something to help cheer up the children.
06:46I thought that maybe we could create a garden of our very own with a bit of sponge painting.
06:52Oh, that sounds a great idea, Spencer, but I'm no good at painting.
06:58No worries, Edie. I just need your help to find the sponges.
07:02Oh, no problem. I've got lots of sponges. I use them for cleaning my bus now.
07:06Where did I put them?
07:09Oh, they're right here. Now, there you go.
07:14Great. Do you think you can help me cut out some of the different shapes?
07:17Oh, certainly, yes. Now, what kind of shapes do you want?
07:24Oh, you need a circle.
07:28Oh, yeah.
07:38Yeah. Oh, very good.
07:41And a square.
07:42Let me see.
07:44Oh, yes. Perfect.
07:46Perfect.
07:52Ha!
07:55That works.
07:56Yes.
07:56Yes.
07:57And, oh, a leaf shape.
07:59Let's see.
08:00Oh, a leaf shape.
08:01Let me try that.
08:07And a triangle.
08:08That's good.
08:14Perfect.
08:16Oh, very good, Spencer.
08:19Okay.
08:19Let's get started.
08:20Oh, can't wait.
08:21That's great.
08:23That's...
08:52There!
08:53There!
08:53That should be enough.
08:56One do-it-yourself sponge garden.
09:00That's great.
09:11I like that.
09:14I like the duck in the top.
09:16This new town is fantastic.
09:18Hi, guys.
09:20Good to see you.
09:22Hey.
09:22Hey!
09:24Good to see you guys.
09:25Don't mind me.
09:26You guys go ahead and do what you're doing.
09:28Okay.
09:28What are you going to do, Spencer?
09:30Oh, you're going to do Spencer.
09:31Oh, you'll see.
09:33Oh, you're going to paint, are you?
09:34Mm-hmm.
09:36If anybody needs me, I'll be outside, Miss Uli.
09:38Outside, Spencer?
09:40Mm-hmm.
09:45Hi, Spencer.
09:46Oh.
09:47Hi, Miss Uli.
09:48We'll soon be ready to start painting.
09:50Oh, painting?
09:51What are you going to be painting?
09:52Well, I thought it was a nice idea to create a painted mural of flowers using the sponge
09:57shapes that Edie and I made.
09:59It'll brighten up the spot until the bulbs pop up in springtime.
10:03Oh, so that's what you wanted the sponges for.
10:06Well, it's certainly a nice idea, Spencer.
10:09Oh, check this out.
10:12Look at these sponge shapes.
10:14We've got round ones for the center of the flowers.
10:17Oh.
10:18And these leaf shapes for the petal and leaves.
10:21Si.
10:24Oh, don't you think it's a bit too cold for the children to be standing around outside?
10:29Hmm.
10:30I hadn't thought of that.
10:32Well, we'll need to think of a way to keep the children warm, or I'm afraid they won't
10:36be able to help you paint your mural, Spencer.
10:38What are we going to do?
10:40I've been rushing around so much, I haven't even noticed the cold.
10:44Hmm.
10:46Hey.
10:47That's it.
10:48Yeah.
10:49We can keep the children moving around to keep them warm.
10:52And I know just the person to do it.
10:55Hey.
10:56Josie, jump!
11:03Josie, jump is my name.
11:16Let's go.
11:17Let's go.
11:19Let's go.
11:19Everybody try kicking.
11:20Everybody try bouncing.
11:22Everybody try throwing.
11:25Everybody try jumping.
11:27Sometimes I get the feeling, I want to jump up high.
11:31I've got to keep on running.
11:33So far, I think I'll fly.
11:35Everybody jump up a little higher.
11:38with your hands. Jump up a little higher, score a goal. Everybody try kicking, everybody
11:45try bouncing, everybody try throwing, everybody try jumping. Sometimes I get the feeling when
11:54getting near a hoop, the ball just keeps on bouncing, and then I loop the loop. Everybody
12:00jump up a little higher, with your hands. Jump up a little higher, score a goal. Jump up a little
12:10higher, with your hands. Jump up a little higher, score a goal.
12:16Josie, jump is my name. Dancing and sport are my games. I'm always feeling rhythm. It jingles in my toes.
12:28It jingles through my body. Come on and have a go.
12:40Hi Spencer!
12:41Hi Josie!
12:42Miss Hooley tells me you want a word.
12:44You bet.
12:45So, what's the story in Balamori?
12:47Well now.
12:50The children have planted some tulip bulbs here to brighten up the nursery garden, but they keep asking Miss Hooley
12:55when the flowers are going to grow.
12:58She's had to tell them that it won't be until next spring. So you can imagine they were really disappointed.
13:05That's why Miss Hooley asked me to think of something that would help cheer them up.
13:10I thought a bit of sponge painting would do the trick. I made some sponge shapes with Edie's help, and
13:16now I want to use them to paint a mural here in the nursery garden.
13:22Oh, that's a great idea, Spencer. But what do you need me for? I can't paint.
13:28Well, that's okay, but it's kind of cold and I thought that maybe you might be able to think of
13:32a way to keep the children warm while they're painting.
13:35Ah, a way to keep them warm. Hmm.
13:41I know! Got a finger?
13:43Got a finger!
13:44Got a thumb?
13:45Got a thumb!
13:46Right! Okay!
13:50One finger, one thumb, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, keep moving. We'll all
13:58be merry and bright.
14:00That should keep them warm.
14:02Fantastic! Now, let's go get Miss Hooley and the children.
14:06Okay!
14:08Okay!
14:22We've come up with a plan.
14:24Well, finally!
14:25Before we go outside, we must make sure we all stay nice and warm.
14:29Let's go! We're going to sing a song!
14:32One finger, one thumb, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, keep moving.
14:36One finger, one thumb, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving.
14:47One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb,
14:54one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving.
15:06One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb,
15:06one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving.
15:06One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb,
15:06one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving.
15:06One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving
15:06One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, keep moving, we'll all be merry and bright.
15:14One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one knot of the head, keep moving.
15:19One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one knot of the head, keep moving.
15:24One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one knot of the head, keep moving, we'll all be merry and
15:30bright.
15:32Let's all stand here and listen to Spencer.
15:36Yeah, now, we are going to be making a garden out of sponges and paint in all kinds of different
15:42shapes.
15:43You guys want to do that?
15:44Yeah!
15:44Yeah!
15:45All right, okay, well, let's get started then.
15:47Okay, I'll get some paint for you guys.
15:51There we go.
15:52Yeah, a little bit of paint there.
15:54We need some different colors, too.
15:58I've got some green.
16:00Green, who wants yellow?
16:01Yellow to match your jacket.
16:04Yellow here.
16:07Let's get stuck on that paint.
16:10Yep, you're going to stick it on there.
16:12Oh, yeah, that's looking good.
16:14Looking really pretty.
16:20Squidgy!
16:23What do you want to eat?
16:25Wow.
16:26Oh, looky.
16:28Here's some little, just a little.
16:29Ah, look!
16:30It's okay.
16:31You can wipe that off for a wee sec.
16:32I'm going to use that one just now.
16:34Here's red.
16:35Okay.
16:36Oh, good idea.
16:36Use the other side.
16:38That looks fantastic.
16:40That looks brilliant.
16:41We need some leaf shapes.
16:44There you go.
16:46Oh, fun.
16:47Fun.
16:47Fun.
16:48Can you have a wee look just now?
16:50Take a look.
16:52We've got an instant garden, so that means we don't have to wait till spring until all the
16:56flowers come out.
16:58Thank you, Spencer and Josie, for keeping us all warm.
17:01I think we should give ourselves a big round of applause.
17:04Yay!
17:05Yay!
17:05Yay!
17:07Yay!
17:08Yay!
17:11Yay!
17:11Yay!
17:13So, what was the story in Balamori today?
17:23Well, the children were really disappointed when they heard that the tulip bulbs they had
17:28planted won't grow until spring.
17:31So, Spencer had an idea to cheer them up.
17:34He borrowed some sponges from Edie McCready to paint a flower picture.
17:39But before we could go into the nursery garden to start painting, we all had to warm up.
17:44Josie Jump taught us all the one finger, one thumb song, and that kept us nice and warm.
17:50We painted the flowers in no time, and it really has brightened up the nursery garden
17:55until the tulips grow.
17:59So, that was the story in Balamori.
18:07I wonder if I'll still need my scarf for going outside.
18:13See you next time.
18:14Bye!
