05:40Great
05:41Right
05:41Well, will you just tell me where you keep your skipping ropes
05:45And your egg and spoons in your sacks?
05:47I'll be on my way
05:48But we haven't got any skipping ropes, eggs, spoons or sacks
05:52Oh
05:53Why don't you pop to see Penny Pocket and Suzie Sweet?
05:56They should have everything you need at the shop
05:58I hope so
05:59Bye
06:01Bye
06:01Bye
06:03So
06:03Which coloured house do you think PC Plum will visit first today?
06:12Can you see all the different coloured houses
06:15Sitting by the sea?
06:18Well there's part of the story in Ballamory
06:21Asks which is the house for me?
06:24Is it yellow? Is it red?
06:27Or should we go to the greenhouse instead?
06:30White, orange, blue or pink?
06:32Or which coloured house do you think?
06:35Blue house, yellow house, orange house or red?
06:41White house, green or pink?
06:44Or which coloured house do you think?
06:52Which coloured house are we going to?
06:55Tell me what do you think?
06:57Which coloured house are we going to?
07:01Tell me what do you think?
07:04It's the red house!
07:07Yes, it's the red house
07:08Because that's where Penny and Suzie live
07:14Hi Suzie
07:15Hi Penny
07:16Hi
07:17What can we do for you?
07:19Oh
07:19We've got some lovely whistles
07:20You in today?
07:23No thank you Suzie
07:24I don't need one of those
07:25But I do need to buy some things for the nursery sports day today
07:29Okay then you best tell us what you want
07:31Well I need eggs and spoons for the egg and spoon race
07:36One tray of eggs coming up
07:38Thank you
07:39And spoons, small or large?
07:42Hmm, I'm not sure
07:44How about this one?
07:45It looks a bit small but um
07:47Let me see
07:49So far so good
07:51It must be that large one Penny
07:56That's the biggest spoon I've ever seen
07:58Me too
07:59Well
08:00We'll try them out
08:01Now
08:02Off you go
08:04Once round the shop
08:06And no cheating
08:07On your marks
08:09Get set
08:10Go!
08:10Go!
08:14Oh dear
08:17Sorry Suzie
08:18Here we go
08:19I think this spoon's a little small for the egg and spoon race
08:22And mine is too big
08:24Well these are the only sizes of spoon we've got left in the shop
08:29Um
08:30Right
08:30Well next
08:31Skipping ropes
08:33Oh yes the children love skipping

08:54Oh!
08:55Oh dear
08:56Don't think we'll be having an egg and spoon race
08:59That was the last tray of eggs we had
09:01Don't worry I'll clear up the mess
09:04Right well
09:05I suppose we could have two skipping rope races instead
09:08I'm sorry
09:09That's the only skipping rope left in the shop
09:12Well um
09:13Well I could have a few sack races instead of the egg and spoon race and the skipping rope race
09:18Sack races?
09:20You do sell sacks?
09:22We do sell paper bags
09:26You can't have a sack race with a paper bag Suzie
09:30So no sacks then?
09:32No sacks
09:33No sacks
09:34No
09:34What am I going to do?
09:36I've got no eggs and spoons for the egg and spoon race
09:38I've got no skipping ropes for the skipping rope race
09:40And I've got no sacks for the sack race
09:42Oh I don't want to disappoint Miss Hooley and the children but
09:46What am I going to do?
09:49Why don't you think up some new kinds of races?
09:52Yes some fun races that don't need skipping ropes and eggs and spoons and sacks
09:59Of course but I'm not very good at making up games
10:03Do you know someone who is?
10:06Archie
10:09I'm Archie the inventor
10:11I know how things are done
10:15I can make absolutely anything
10:18Inventing things is fun
10:19I'm always on the lookout
10:22For things that I might use
10:26Collecting odds and ends from all of my friends
10:28To make a little treat for you
10:36Take a box and some yoghurt pop tops
10:39Hey, it's a car
10:41Inventing with Archie is never a bore
10:44Come on let's make some more
10:46Build a rocket from a squidgy bottle
10:49And stick on bits of junk
10:52Here's a crazy clip-clop puppet
10:54Dance and do the honky-donk
11:02I'm Archie the inventor
11:05I know how things are done
11:08I can make absolutely anything
11:10Inventing things is fun
11:13I'm always on the lookout
11:15For things that I might use
11:19Collecting odds and ends from all of my friends
11:21To make a little treat for you
11:23If you need something made
11:25And don't know what to do
11:27Then Archie is the one for you
11:29Call Archie and I'll help you through
11:32Call Archie and I'll help you through
11:44Hello Archie
11:45Hello plumbers
11:46It's not like you to look so close
11:49What's the story in Bellamore?
11:51Well you see
11:53I'm trying to organise the races
11:55For the nursery sports day today
11:57I was going to have an egg and spoon race
11:59A skipping race
12:00And a sack race
12:03But when I went to buy everything
12:04From Penny Pocket and Susie Sweet's shop
12:06I found they had the wrong size spoons
12:08I broke the eggs
12:10But they only had one skipping rope
12:12And no sacks
12:15So that's why I'm here
12:16I need your help Archie
12:18Because I don't have skipping ropes
12:19And eggs, spoons or sacks
12:21Well that shouldn't be too difficult plumbers
12:24Right
12:26Err
12:27Skipping rope
12:30funky
12:31Oh thanks Nobby
12:35Scissors please
12:37There we go
12:38There we go
12:38Skissors
12:38Thank you plumbers
12:40Oh could you put the tape for me
12:44Lovely
12:45Good work
12:46Oh I see
12:48This is a handle
12:49There we go
12:51Glamation
12:56That's the skipping rope sorted
12:57Lovely.
12:58Do you want to test drive this, plumber?
13:00Sure.
13:01OK.
13:02Right.
13:03Let's have a go.
13:07And...
13:08One potato, two potato, two potato, three potato, four, five potato, six potato...
13:14Potato!
13:16What?
13:17Who needs an egg and spoon race when you can have a potato race?
13:23But the potato will fall off the spoon, Archie.
13:25The answer is right in front of us, plumber's.
13:32Yoghurt pots?
13:33Hmm, look.
13:34Put potato in the yoghurt pot, you see.
13:37And the potato falls out and it's not going to crash.
13:40That's a great idea, Archie.
13:42Oh, but we still don't have anything for the sack race.
13:45Oh.
13:45I haven't got any sacks.
13:47Um.
13:48Ah, but I have got a pair of trousers.
13:53Trousers?
13:54Yes, look.
13:54A big pair of my old baggy trousers.
13:57You see?
13:58A set of sacks.
14:00You can just get into a big pair of trousers like this, you see.
14:03My theory is they'll be just as difficult as one about in with a big old sack.
14:10There you go, steady.
14:18Oh, that's a great idea, Archie, but...
14:26Well, we only have one pair of trousers.
14:29How are we going to get all the other children to get lots of pairs of baggy trousers from?
14:32That's easy.
14:33We just asked the children to bring in their mum or dad's biggest, baggiest trousers.
14:38They'll look just as big as these and be twice as difficult for them to run in.
14:42Archie, you are a genius.
14:43This is going to be the best sports day ever.
14:54Right, is everybody ready?
14:56Yeah!
14:57Great!
14:58We're going to do the baggy trouser race.
15:00Good luck, everyone.
15:01Good luck, Archie.
15:03Right, ready, steady, go!
15:07Archie!
15:12Archie, go!
15:13Run!
15:27You all right, Archie?
15:28Yeah, fine.
15:29I was just thinking, maybe I won't be in any more races.
15:33I don't want to show the children up again.
15:34I'm probably a bit too good.
15:36Right.
15:38I'll look after the finishing line.
15:40That's a good idea, Archie.
15:41Here we go, everyone in a straight line, ready for the rope race.
15:44We're all ropes ready.
15:45Ready, steady, go!
15:50Oh, you said, come on, Amber, come on.
16:02Lovely race.
16:09And here we go.
16:10There you go, potato there.
16:11Now, is everybody ready?
16:13Yeah!
16:14There we go.
16:15Ready, go, steady, go!
16:18Whistling
16:37Well, Archie, I think our games were a great success, wouldn't you say?
16:40Oh, definitely.
16:41Very good, yeah.
16:46So, what was the story in Balamori today?
16:54Josie jumped caught a cold, so PC Plum had to take over organising the races for today's
17:00sports day.
17:01He planned to have an egg and spoon race, a skipping race and a sack race.
17:07Penny Pocket and Susie's sweet shop had the wrong size spoons, plum broke the eggs, and there
17:15was only one skipping rope left and no sacks.
17:20Archie saved the day by making up some new races.
17:23He made some new skipping ropes from an old rope, a yoghurt pot and a potato race instead
17:30of an egg and spoon race, and my new favourite race of all, the mum and dad's trouser race.
17:38The whole day was such fun and a great success.
17:48Tomorrow, I'll have to get Josie a get well card and tell her all about the sports day.
17:55Bye.
17:57Bye.
18:00Bye.
