00:00Hi again. This time last week it felt like summer for some of us but it's been more like
00:04autumn today in the south-west of England and that's been courtesy of a fairly unseasonably
00:09deep area of low pressure that's been affecting the south of the UK today. That's now clearing
00:13your way into the North Sea but it's going to stay pretty unsettled and changeable through
00:17much of the week ahead. These pink colours here indicate the jet stream which is a driver
00:21to our weather quite often and will certainly be the case over the next few days too. Now
00:25it's quite meridional, quite wavy in nature as we go through the first part of the coming
00:29week and as that interacts with this wiggling weather front on Monday it is going to bring
00:34a few uncertainties in the forecast. So as to just how quickly it clears away from England
00:38and Wales later on Monday a bit of uncertainty in the forecast there. But as you can see
00:43as we go towards Tuesday and Wednesday the jet stream stays close to the UK and these weather
00:47fronts through the middle of the week will act as a focus for some more organised and heavier
00:51showers and possibly some thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday too. So certainly an unsettled
00:56favour to the weather in the week ahead and that's certainly the case out there this evening
00:59too. Quite a lot of cloud around for many of us, some showery outbreaks of rain but the
01:03most persistent rain will tend to ease and clear away. Perhaps not so though across the
01:08far north east of Scotland where it will stay generally somewhat wetter through the course
01:11of tonight and out across Northern Ireland we'll start to see some heavier bursts of rain returning
01:15from the Atlantic as we go towards the morning. But for most it will turn a little bit dry
01:19as I say. In the east we should see some fairly prolonged clear periods so possibly temperatures
01:24dipping down into the high single figures in rural areas here. But for most of us the winds will ease
01:29down and temperatures will stay just about in double figures. Now I will say a little bit breezier
01:33through the Irish Sea. The winds here coming in from a southerly direction so a milder source of air
01:39and tomorrow will actually be a warmer day for all of us. But it will be wet for some particularly
01:44across Northern Ireland in the morning. The rain also quite heavy across western parts of Scotland
01:48and some central areas too but not a washout. There will be some dry interludes at times too.
01:53The rain will tend to pep up though across parts of northwestern England, Wales in particular as well
01:58through the afternoon. So turning a little bit damper as we go through the day here. The best of the
02:03weather, Germany speaking, on Sunday will be across more eastern areas. The sunshine turning a little
02:08bit hazy perhaps but it should still remain pretty bright well into the afternoon. Now for all of us
02:14tomorrow it will be a warmer day compared to on Saturday. Temperatures widely into the high teens
02:19and low 20s across England and Wales. Somewhat fresher there across the very far northwest of
02:24Scotland and also Northern Ireland. But at least here there will be some late afternoon sunshine.
02:29Now this graphic just shows how different the temperatures will be on Sunday compared to on
02:33Saturday. And you can see that for most of us temperatures are going to be higher by one to
02:37three degrees Celsius. But for parts of East Anglia and perhaps Essex in the southeast we could be seeing
02:42temperatures five degrees or so higher than on Saturday. Perhaps 23 or even 24 in one or two
02:48spots. So a much warmer day to come. Now as you go through Sunday evening the rain continues in the
02:54north and the west and it will start to erratically and slowly move its way south eastwards across
02:58England and Wales too. Always heaviest tending to be across the high ground in the west. So for example
03:04the Cumbrian Fells, the high ground of Wales. Really seeing some quite heavy bursts of rain shown here by
03:09these lively colours of yellow. So some pretty wet and windy weather actually out and about on Sunday
03:15night. Bits and pieces of rain elsewhere too but at this stage nothing too heavy. Following clear skies
03:21and showers across the northwest and here temperatures are going to fall quite a bit lower. So in the
03:26countryside where we can see temperatures down to mid-single figures possibly even low enough for a
03:30touch of grass frost believe it or not in the glens of Scotland. But for most elsewhere 12 or 13
03:36degrees
03:36widely across England and Wales. So a pretty mild start to the day on Monday for most of England and
03:41Wales but it will be a fairly damp if not wet one for many. Outbreaks of rain through much of
03:46the day
03:47slowly tending to push away towards the east but still the potential for some really quite intense
03:52bursts of rain through the day and into the afternoon for eastern England on Monday. Otherwise though
03:57much brighter skies will follow from the west. Quite a rash of showers though particularly for northern
04:02Ireland into the afternoon. Possibly even the odd heavier one with the odd rumble of thunder. But certainly a drier
04:08brighter end to the day for many western areas compared to the morning. Temperatures will be down compared to on
04:14Sunday for most of us but it should still feel pleasant enough in any sunny spells in the west. Quite
04:19a bit lower
04:19though for eastern parts of England. Highs generally only 17 to 19 degrees Celsius here. So a pretty changeable picture
04:26over the next few days. Of course if you're watching us on our YouTube channel please make sure you hit
