00:15We are merging the operational strength of the Tobago Division with the E-999 unit and the Traffic and Highway

00:24into a single coordinated platform.
00:26Powered by the National Operations Fusion Center, it involves the effective utilization of the modern technological tools
00:36that can assist the police service in their day-to-day operations.
00:40This includes facial and vehicle recognition, crime mapping, CCTV surveillance, wanted person monitoring and traffic management.
00:51Ensuring that police visibility is not only constant, but reassuring to the law-abiding citizens
00:59while serving as a clear deterrent to the criminal element.
01:04This is not an isolated measure, as it is part of a deliberate and structured direction
01:12that began with the placement of the National Operations Center under the management of the TTPS.
01:20Chief Secretary Fali Augustin said in 2024, Tobago was grappling with its highest murder rate
01:28and he welcomes this initiative, informing officers on the ground in a timely manner.
01:33I am heartened to hear from the Commission of Police this morning that this system will allow for effortless integration
01:43and will allow for the officers on the ground in Tobago to have access to data in real time
01:51without having to call someone in Port of Spain to get that access,
01:56which means that our response time is reduced and our effectiveness on the island is improved.
