00:06Close to the very middle of the United States, Kansas City is the largest city in the state of
00:12Missouri and sixth biggest in the region of the US known as the Midwest. It is served by the
00:2276,000 capacity Arrowhead Stadium, known commercially as GEHA Field and during the World Cup as Kansas
00:32City Stadium. The venue opened in 1972 with periodic renovations in more recent decades.
00:44The primary tenants are NFL franchise, the Kansas City Chiefs, winners of four Super Bowls,
00:51including three since 2019.
00:56The venue has twice earned the Guinness World Record for the loudest stadium,
01:01first in 2013, then in 2014, during matches featuring the Chiefs.
01:10Not a large amount of football has been played at the stadium. It was the home of the Kansas City
01:15whiz in Major League Soccer, but hasn't been in regular use in the competition since 2007.
01:24It made headlines in 2024 when the now renamed Sporting Kansas City welcomed Inter Miami and
01:31their new signing, Lionel Messi. 72,610 fans turned up to worship the legend, the fourth
01:39highest attendance in MLS history. The U.S. men's national team have played twice in Kansas City,
01:49most recently in 2024, when they lost 1-0 to Uruguay.
01:56During the World Cup, Arrowhead will host six matches, four in the group stage, one in the
02:02round of 32, and one quarter-final.
