00:06Santa Clara has become known the world over as the home of Silicon Valley,
00:11the epicenter of 21st century technology.
00:17It's also home to Levi's Stadium,
00:20known during World Cup 2026 as the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
00:27Levi's Stadium has been one of the most successful outdoor venues in this country,
00:32generating over a billion dollars in economic impact.
00:36But we're not done yet.
00:39So glad to have these two gentlemen, their delegation,
00:43everyone that supports FIFA to bring the world's largest and biggest tournament
00:48to the San Francisco Bay Area and Levi's Stadium.
00:53The primary tenants of the 70,000-seat arena are the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.
01:00And it is they who instigated the construction of the venue, which was completed in 2014.
01:09The Bay Area Stadium hosted a Super Bowl soon afterwards,
01:12has welcomed visiting European club sides for pre-season exhibitions,
01:17and will be a major hub for the 2031 and 2033 Rugby World Cups.
01:25In MLS, it is used annually when the San Jose earthquakes host LAFC.
01:342026 will be a busy year for stadium organisers,
01:37with the Super Bowl returning to Santa Clara in February.
01:41But as the FIFA president was quick to point out,
01:44the World Cup puts a one-off American football fixture in the shade.
01:50Yes, here we are, San Francisco Bay Area, host city, of course, of the World Cup.
01:57But also, I'm told, playing in the Super Bowl.
02:01Now, you must know that the World Cup, the FIFA World Cup,
02:05is 104 games, 104 Super Bowls being played,
02:09a few of which will be played in San Francisco Bay Area.
02:14And, of course, all the best to the 49ers for their upcoming Super Bowl.
02:20When it was announced that the venue had been selected by FIFA
02:23to host matches at the 2026 World Cup,
02:27two-time Women's World Cup winner Brandi Chastain was on hand to celebrate the moment.
02:33I feel the same way I felt after I scored the goal in 99.
02:37There's this great sense of relief and joy and gratitude for this community,
02:41for embracing soccer in a way it has.
02:44You know, I'm from here.
02:46I'm born and raised in this community.
02:48And they encouraged me to do something that was not traditional.
02:51And the World Cup being here is not traditional to sports in America,
02:55but it involves everybody, it embraces everybody, and it welcomes everybody.
03:01And this is what the world needs.
03:02And our Bay Area will show the rest of the world what a wonderful place this is.
03:08The first World Cup fixture at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium
03:11will be Match 8 on June 13.
03:14The venue will stage matches in Group B, D, and J
03:19and host one knockout contest in the Round of 32.
03:25Let's go.
03:26Let's go.
03:26Let's go.
