00:00For those who might not know, Camilo Lara created the Sonic ID for Mexico City for the 2026 World Cup,
00:07which is very important because it tries to capture the sound of the city, the whole city for the World
00:12Cup.
00:12Camilo, how was the process for you to figure out how did the Mexico City sounds like?
00:17First of all, I want to apologize because you're going to hear it a lot.
00:23So don't hate me. It's just the way it is.
00:26I was invited to do like a kind of a Mexico City idea of how this could sound.
00:33And it was a big challenge because Mexico is many things.
00:38It's not only one general or one voice. It's like a monster of a million heads.
00:45So I kind of what I did was something that I spoke to me and something that was in my
00:53in my world
00:54and something that I feel comfortable doing.
00:56And because I'm from Mexico, I've been I'm born and raised there so that I wanted to do that.
01:04So it's a it's a personal Sonic ID that I hope through individual individuality can make collectivity.
01:17So what other moments in your career has football and music overlap before this World Cup experience?
01:28Well, I, I have played in stadiums. I, I, I, I, I know a few football players.
01:37I don't know. It's there. It's a and and all growing up in Mexico City, my I had three kind
01:47of friends,
01:48like the ones that like Pumas, the one that likes Cruz Azul and the ones that like America.
01:52So we only like one, one group of the three, right? Uh, so yeah, you have to choose your friends
01:58carefully.
02:04Football question.
02:06¿Te gusta que haya descenso y promoción?
02:09Or are we cool now moving into an MLS style where we're going to have these 20 teams and they're
02:14not going to change?
02:16Yo soy fan de, de, de mobility, del descenso. Uh, there, there are some, uh, teams in, in lower leagues
02:27that, uh, could deserve like the shot.
02:29And it's good to keep it fresh, like to, to, to make the, the, the, the teams go more competitive
02:36and, um, yeah, it's different, different times, right?
02:39Different times.
02:40I, I, I, I have to see it for a couple of, uh, temporadas to see if I, if I'm
02:47okay with that.
02:48But at this moment, not yet.
02:50I know we are a fan of here of promotion and relegation because we believe that it's fair.
02:54Like you said, there are teams that work really hard the whole season and they don't have the chance to,
02:59you know,
03:00a la fiesta grande.
03:01Yes.
03:01Now, if you were to change three things in football to make it better, what would they be?
03:08Um, this is going to be very polemic.
03:11Uh, but I would get rid of bar.
03:16Okay.
03:17Uh, I, I think it just, it's, it's, it's not basketball.
03:21It's not a exact science.
03:22It just needs to be really, uh, rely on, on humanity.
03:28And I, I, I, I, I, I think that's, that's important.
03:34Um, the other one, I would say, uh, uh, uh, advertising wise, uh,
03:41sometimes, uh, some channels go really wild on advertising.
03:46I would lower it down a few notches.
03:50Bájale el volumen.
03:51Y bájale un poquito a los, a los supers y a las cosas.
03:55Uh, and probably the, the, the third one, um, I, I, I would be really happy if, if, uh,
04:06women's football had the same focus as, as men's.
04:10Uh, for me, that would be really cool.
04:13A world where we can have the, the woman, the messy, uh, from the woman's team, just,
04:18uh, being as, as important, uh, and, and get paid the same.
04:23Uh, so that would be incredible.
04:25Uh, so that would be, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
04:25the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
04:25the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
04:25the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
04:25the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
