Bears president Kevin Warren describes the team's interview process with coach Ben Johnson and the benefits to the organization beyond getting a coach.
Transcript
00:04It was a perfect process, I mean I enjoyed it, I think Ryan was very clear when we started
00:10this journey that a wide net would be cast, which it was.
00:16We would talk to many candidates and one thing about this interview process, you learn so
00:21much not only about the candidate but about other coaches, their thought process, other
00:27people in the industry and so I thought it was a first class process and Ryan should
00:33be commended and I'm grateful to George and the entire McCaskey family for their support.
00:38We want to win and we want to win now.
00:40I think what you saw today hopefully was that we are a group that is aligned with George,
00:47with Ryan, with Ben, with the players, with this building and it is really special to work
00:54in an environment.
00:55I said it to Ben even during the interview process and I've said it since, you really
01:01are blessed to have George and other members of the McCaskey family here every day.
01:07This is not a side business venture, this is their life, this is their history, this is
01:12their legacy.
01:13This organization is built on history, tradition and winning and so the thing and one good thing
01:19about it and I joke with George that probably if we did some study we're probably related
01:24multiple generations ago.
01:26I'm fiscally conservative but I am also aggressive and I also believe in being creative and I also
01:35believe that you get what you pay for and so this is a situation where we needed to make
01:41sure we got the number one candidate and it's not about the number one candidate, it was
01:46the number one candidate for the Chicago Bears.
01:48I think we're going to be the number one candidate for the Chicago Bears.
01:49This is the number one candidate for the Chicago Bears.
01:49This is the number one candidate for the Chicago Bears.
