00:10O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
00:17O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us.
00:26Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
00:32is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
00:39Let us praise the Lord. The Lord's name be praised.
00:49I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
00:59I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
01:09God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the
01:19Father.
01:20Through him all things were made.
01:23For us men, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit, was incarnate of
01:31the Virgin Mary, and became man.
01:35For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
01:39He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
01:46He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
01:52He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
01:59I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father,
02:06who with the Father and the Son, is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
02:14I believe in one holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.
02:18I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
02:23and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
02:30Amen.
02:33The Lord be with you, and also with you.
02:39Let us pray.
02:42Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:45Christ, have mercy upon us.
02:48Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:53Our Father in heaven, holy is your name.
02:58Your kingdom come.
03:00Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
03:05Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:16Do not allow us to fall into temptation, but deliver us from every evil.
03:23Amen.
03:27O Lord, have mercy upon us, and grant us your salvation.
03:35Bless your ministers with righteousness, and make your chosen people joyful.
03:44O Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance.
03:51Give peace in our time, O Lord, because there is none other that fights for us, but only you, O
03:59God.
04:01O God, make clean our hearts within us.
04:06Do not take your Holy Spirit from us.
04:15Reading from the second book of Chronicles, chapter 15.
04:21God's Spirit came upon Azariah, son of Oded.
04:26And he met with Esau, and told him, Listen to me, Esau, and all of Judah and Benjamin.
04:34The Lord is with you when you are loyal to him.
04:37If you seek him, he will respond to you.
04:42But if you reject him, he will reject you.
04:47For a long time Israel had no true God or priest to instruct them or law.
04:56Because of their distress, they turned back to the Lord God of Israel.
05:00They sought him, and he responded to them.
05:04In those days, no one could travel safely, for total chaos had overtaken all the people of the surrounding lands.
05:13One nation was crushed by another, and one city by another.
05:18For God caused them to be in great turmoil.
05:22But as for you, be strong and do not be discouraged, for your work will be rewarded.
05:32When Esau heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he was encouraged.
05:39He removed the detestable idols from the entire land of Judah and Benjamin,
05:43and from the cities he had seized in the Ephraimite hill country.
05:49He repaired the altar of the Lord, in front of the porch of the Lord's temple.
05:56He assembled all Judah and Benjamin, as well as settlers from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon,
06:04who had come to live amongst them.
06:08Many people from Israel had come to live there when they saw that the Lord, his God, was with him.
06:17They assembled in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Esau's reign.
06:24At that time, they sacrificed to the Lord some of the plunder they had brought back,
06:29including seven hundred cattle and seven thousand sheep.
06:34And they solemnly agreed to seek the Lord God of their ancestors with their whole heart and being.
06:43Anyone who did not want to seek the Lord God of Israel would be executed,
06:49whether they were young or old, male or female.
06:54They all swore their allegiance to the Lord, shouting their approval loudly and sounding trumpets and horns.
07:04And Judah was happy about the oath, because it was made with their whole heart.
07:10They willingly sought the Lord and he responded to them, making them secure on every side.
07:21King Esau also removed Mekah, his grandmother, from her position as queen mother,
07:26because she had made a loathsome Ashurah pole.
07:31He cut down the Ashurah pole, crushing and burning it in the Kidron Valley.
07:38The high places were not eliminated from Israel,
07:41but yet, Ashurah was wholeheartedly devoted to the Lord throughout his time.
07:48He brought the holy items that his father and he had made into God's temple,
07:54including the silver, gold and other articles.
07:59There was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Esau's reign.
08:05This is the word of the Lord.
08:08Thanks be to God.
08:15Thanks be to God.
