00:00What I really noticed about this schedule, you know, we talked a lot about the first half of this in
00:04Florida, Texas, but the issue that we've had this year with the two Texas events.
00:09Yes, it's convenient that you can go from Byron to Colonial.
00:14I think a lot of guys love to just be able to hop in a car and go from one
00:17to the next.
00:18But as you see in the schedule next year, Byron has been pushed up to late April, early May, which
00:23is the date in which that Cadillac championship was this year.
00:27I think the golf course potentially will be better than what we now you never know in Texas.
00:36Like you can have, you know, fronts come through at any portion of the spring to really make a golf
00:42course play extremely wet.
00:44So you never really know you would expect to have wind, you know, still in late April, you know, the
00:50later in May you get the less wind you might have.
00:52So that's obviously a plus, but one of the huge issues is that where these two events in Byron Nelson
01:00and Colonial stack up on this schedule that is so condensed.
01:04And when then they go to Memorial, RBC Canadian, and then the U.S. Open, that at some point, you
01:11know, coming off of a major championship at the PGA and also the Quail Hollow and RBC, like where, like
01:19how is Scotty Scheffler and Jordan Spieth, the two biggest draws in Texas, supposed to play six events in a
01:25row?
01:27So no Scotty Scheffler and Jordan Spieth not being in Colonial this week should be a crime like that is
01:33an event that neither one of those two want to miss.
01:36They love playing in Texas.
01:38They get so much support and they got to pick one or the other because they know the value of
01:42playing Memorial and being rested for the U.S. Open.
01:44It's obviously solved next year as you see the Colonial date isn't announced quite yet, but you see those two
01:51events are separated, which I think helps the Texas guys at least, and just the events in general, be able
01:58to market their stars that they expect to get to play in them.
02:02Yeah, you expect Colonial to land after the PGA Championship as it has in previous years, but it's just, it's
02:09so interesting, and I think, you know, we can, I don't want to get off this right yet, but I
02:14do think as we kind of start moving forward to the 2028 PGA Tour schedule, and we talk about the
02:20two tracks that Brian Rollap's laid out, the 120-player, you know, first track, A-track, Platinum Tour, whatever we
02:26want to call it, and the 140-player event second track,
02:30that I just, I wonder how much spacing we end up getting between events, whether it's on either side of
02:38majors, and even how the promotion relegation works between those two tracks, because it just feels like that there are
02:46events here, I'd say it this way.
02:50If I'm a Cognizant, or, I mean, I don't want to keep picking on Cognizant, I want to support Cognizant,
02:57it's at a historic venue, it's at a place that, you know, I love spending time down in Palm Beach,
03:01but they're kind of getting hosed on fields.
03:03I'd almost rather say, if we're going to be a track two event, or, you know, if we're going to
03:08be stuck here, like, just move us to track two, we can get a full field there.
03:12Well, there is, we're already in a track one, we're already in a track one, track two system, and the
03:18only thing that we're missing are just more events opposite of a track one event, is all we're missing.
03:24Really, that's all it comes down to, and I think we're eventually going to get into the full discussion of
03:30all of this, but before we get off of this schedule, the only thing I want to add,
03:35So, with Valspar being moved to early May, I think some of my biggest concerns about that date for that
03:42championship is that, you know, overseeding, especially for these Florida golf courses, typically happen at the beginning of the year,
03:49you know, probably late fall, you have it all the way through probably April or so, and then it dies
03:56off, so they're going to have to make a decision.
