00:07machine for the last few years but geez you know smiley if there's not going to be any rain and

00:12wind on saturday and sunday that's just going to set him up even more to be able to do i thought

00:17he i thought he played well in the bad conditions on thursday and so and friday but then you give

00:23him a really a fresh course with no wind and no rain and he's just gonna go to he's gonna go to

00:29town man it was it was an incredible week poor rush was incredible uh that golf course was fantastic

00:36yeah we didn't get the weather that we hoped we would get on the weekend for me personally as

00:41somebody who was walking the golf course i didn't mind it i hate just getting absolutely dumped on

00:46out uh when you're covering golf so for me i didn't mind it but i imagine the viewer when they turned

00:51on the tv were was hoping for more of an armageddon type of situation but uh scotty chef were like you

00:57said he managed the conditions that were a little tougher on thursday and i still think about a shot

01:04that he hit on thursday that i had a chance to call which was on the 16th hole calamity corner

01:09one of the most iconic uh holes in the world especially was the highlight of this event

01:13uh going over to that 16th and it's like a 220 yard uh hole for the most part played anywhere between 210

01:21240 and on thursday scotty got up there to a front right hole location and hit this four into three

01:27feet and i'm like how many people can do that um and not only did he do it thursday but he did it

01:34friday then he did it saturday and he was very close to almost doing it sunday playing that hole in

01:40eight shots played it in nine uh he really needs to get better at golf i i actually said i i guess it

01:47was friday we had stewie on keith stewart was with us and and i actually said to him of all the rounds

01:52of golf we've watched scotty play over the last couple years and and just dominating rounds of golf

01:58i really did think that his round on thursday and he didn't even have the lead but i thought that was

02:03one of the best rounds of golf i had ever seen scotty play in my life and like you said you had the

02:09front row seat for i think you did have one uh wardrobe change on thursday right smiley they did get you

02:14once that was that was actually friday uh i was oh that was friday yes i was finishing up rory's

02:22group with fleawood and jt and all of a sudden it just came down and i just uh just sat there

02:29and just basically just got drenched for 15 straight minutes as it was just a full downpour

02:34luckily they brought me out some new clothes that i was able to walk around the afternoon with my group

02:38but definitely got a little wet there uh but yeah you're right um he people for also didn't really

02:46probably see this unless they were watching uh like world feed or something but he made scotty made

02:50about a 10 to 12 footer on the 14th hole on thursday that he gave a little fist pump for for par

02:59and then it goes in birdies 16 and 17 it's just what champions do they find a way on hard difficult

03:05days it was raining it was windy and he shoots three under par and and he's in the top five of

03:11the leaderboard and at that point when he's that close to the lead it just felt like nobody was going

03:17to win that golf tournament other than scotty sheffler after that first round
