00:00The Wemby conversation.
00:01I mean, Rick, now here he is at 22 years of age.
00:05He's in the NBA finals with a shot to put a ring on his finger.
00:09I mean, the sky's the limit.
00:11Obviously, what could we be saying about this guy in the next seven, eight, nine years?
00:15I mean, could we be putting him up there?
00:17Look, I don't want to put the cart before the horse here or anything, but the skill set level that
00:22he has, what he can do all over the floor.
00:24I mean, the way the NBA is officiated, as you've mentioned before, I mean, what do you think is going
00:30to be the ceiling for this kid?
00:34Well, it's just a matter of him staying healthy and how much he wants to continually work at the game.
00:39But obviously, he has the right attitude.
00:40Hell, he went off and spent time in his mental frame back.
00:44I mean, it was pretty impressive.
00:45But here's the thing.
00:46Let's not compare him to Wilt Chamberlain.
00:48Let's not compare him to Shaquille O'Neal.
00:50Stop all that bullshit about, you know, comparing guys to different eras.
00:53He has a chance of being the most dominant big man during his era, and he would be the guy
01:01that you're going to look at from the center position, even though the center is really different because he plays
01:06outside shooting three-point shots, so it's a little different.
01:08But, yeah, he will be the preeminent big man unless somebody else comes along for his era.
01:15And he's going to get stronger.
01:17He's going to get more knowledgeable because he seems like a very intelligent young man.
01:23I'm looking forward to watching him.
01:25He's fun to watch play.
01:26He's an anomaly.
01:27I've never seen a guy his size be able to do the kind of things he does, the most athletic
01:32kind of big guy.
01:33But he wasn't 7'4".
01:34It was Olajuwon who was pretty athletic and incredible.
01:37I remember when I was doing games and stuff, he did a fadeaway jump shot from the baseline, missed it,
01:44and went down to the other end and blocked the fast break layup by the other team.
01:50I was, like, insane.
01:51So, yeah, but he doesn't have the strength, obviously, but, boy, and he's going to get stronger.
01:57They'll make him stronger.
01:58No question about it with all the technology that he has today.
02:02I remember seeing my son Canyon when he came home from college.
02:05I went to hug him, and I said, what the heck?
02:08It's like he was so much bigger and so much stronger, and that's what they do.
02:13I mean, that's the things that are available to him.
02:15So, Wemby's going to be unbelievable as the things go on, but his other teammates, he's got some great young
02:20teammates.
02:21I hope they stay together.
02:22If they're smart, they will do that because you have something special that you can be the team that somebody
02:27talks about, you know, from the mid-2020s up to the mid-30s, 2030s.
02:34It could be San Antonio that everybody's talking about if these guys all stay together.
