00:00The Dallas Cowboys announced within the last, what, 12 hours or something like that,
00:04that they've restructured Dak Prescott's contract, okay?
00:07Yeah, or less than that, yeah.
00:08Yes, and because they restructured the contract,
00:11it's a $47 million cap savings for this upcoming year.
00:16So I decide to go to overthecap.com and take a look to see how much money
00:22the Dallas Cowboys have to spend this year on free agents
00:26now that they've restructured Dak Prescott's contract,
00:29which is, by the way, to be fair, we knew they were going to tag up Pickens.
00:32They did last Friday.
00:34We knew at some point they're going to have to restructure contracts like Dak's.
00:39So that's a smart, competent move by the Dallas Cowboys.
00:42Obviously, the Chiefs did it, you know, with Patrick Mahomes.
00:45A lot of teams do it with their quarterbacks because that's the biggest nut they got.
00:49And the Dallas Cowboys did it with Dak Prescott.
00:51How much money do the Dallas Cowboys have under the cap right now
00:55to spend on free agents when everything starts next Wednesday?
00:59The new business season of the NFL, the league year, yeah.
01:04Take a guess or not?
01:05Now, I know that they allegedly are going to redo Quentin Williams' deal and others,
01:10and they have not gotten that done yet.
01:12Today.
01:13Dallas Cowboys, today.
01:16Yeah.
01:16I'm going to guess now with Dak's money,
01:19they have about $15 million.
01:23$15 million.
01:24So maybe they get one top-end free agent,
01:27or maybe they go for two, like, B-plus level free agents
01:30based on how they structure contracts.
01:32And then if they do Quentin Williams' contract,
01:35maybe they get two top-flight free agents or B-plus level free agents.
01:39Is that fair?
01:40Off the top of my head, sure.
01:41Off the dome, as we like to say,
01:43where I come from the mean streets of the Bronx,
01:45you couldn't handle the Bronx.
01:46New Rochelle.
01:47I spent many of my formative years in New Rochelle,
01:50the clean city by the bay.
01:54But Manhattan-born, Bronx-raised,
01:57New Rochelle is where I got things done.
02:00Another story for another day.
02:01Well, you graduated fifth grade.
02:02What happened?
02:03Well, you graduated fifth grade.
02:04When I graduated fifth grade.
02:05Going from fifth to middle school.
02:06Yes.
02:06Where were you living then?
02:07I was in Bronx,
02:08and then when I went to New Rochelle,
02:10I graduated sixth grade from Roosevelt Elementary School.
02:14Then I went to Albert Leonard Jr. High School,
02:17right around the corner from Willie Mays' house.
02:19Oh, really?
02:20That's right.
02:20All right.
02:21Nice suburb.
02:22All right.
02:22And then, of course, New Rochelle High School,
02:24where I was the minority in my graduating class.
02:27Not, you know, black and white.
02:29Handsome.
02:30Not a lot of handsome people in my graduating class in high school.
02:34I was the minority.
02:35Ugly town.
02:36Ugly town.
02:37Yeah, we were founded by French Huguenots.
02:39You think there's a lot of good-looking French Huguenots?
02:42No.
02:42No.
02:43No.
02:43A lot of hairy people, but no good-looking French Huguenots.
02:46A lot of back hair.
02:46Oh, dude.
02:47Back hair.
02:47Yeah.
02:48The women with the, like, you know,
02:49got dudes in headlocks hair.
02:51Oh, yeah, Nancy.
02:52In any event, the Dallas Cowboys right now today,
02:55and I'm looking at OverTheCap.com.
02:57That's the best website for up-to-the-minute capology stuff.
03:02They are $9.6 million over the cap.
03:07Still over.
03:08The Dallas Cowboys can't sign a single free agent
03:10the way it stands right now.
03:12And I'm sitting here saying to myself,
03:14when are Dallas Cowboys fans going to revolt against Jerry Jones?
03:19Like, when does that happen?
03:21Because in every other city in America,
03:24and I think I can make this comment about football for sure,
03:28but probably every sport as well.
03:30Like, you guys in Philadelphia right now
03:32are trying to get Harris, owner of the Sixers,
03:35to sell out his percentage of ownership.
03:38Yeah.
03:38Because you hate him.
03:39Right.
03:40Right?
03:40Right now, yes.
03:41That is the case.
03:42Jet fans have been trying to get rid of Woody Johnson forever.
03:44Yep.
03:44All right?
03:45Go back in the day.
03:46You guys wanted Norman Brayman to sell the Eagles.
03:49Badly.
03:49Yes.
03:49So, you could go to almost every single major sports side in America,
03:53and when you have a team that underperforms year after year
03:58after year after year,
03:59there comes a point, like a watershed moment,
04:02when a fan base says enough's enough, man,
04:04it's not the quarterback's fault.
04:06It's not the, you know, umpteenth coach's fault.
04:09It's not the umpteenth general manager's fault.
04:12Every city has had this at some level in the last 25 years
04:16where we acknowledge it's the owner's fault.
04:20How can we make the owner sell the team?
04:23Very hard to do and does not happen that often, right?
04:27I'm wondering out loud, and I love Jerry Jones.
04:30I do.
04:31Jerry Jones has been my favorite owner for a very, very long time in sports,
04:34but again, I'm not a Dallas Cowboy fan.
04:37So, I ask you, Dallas Cowboy fans, when do you revolt?
04:42When do you stand up in unison and say,
04:45enough is enough, and I can't take it anymore?
04:49Our problem is our owner.
