00:00These deals are going to come hot and heavy, and one of the greatest deals, speaking of hot and heavy,
00:05is 6'6", 338-pound nose tackle Jordan Davis.
00:10What an absolutely sensational deal that he signs.
00:14He signs a three-year, $78 million deal with $65 guaranteed.
00:18Always remember, folks, the last number is the most important number because that's money in the bank, $65 million.
00:25Here's a guy when he came out of Georgia that I had really reservations on because I never really thought
00:31he lived up to his potential.
00:32We saw him at the NFL Combines.
00:34Guy ran a 4.78.
00:36He's 338 pounds, like I said, and all the metrics on him, he never really lived up to his expectations
00:44in the first couple years.
00:46Clint Hurt, the brand-new defensive line coach, goes in there with Vic Fangio and has absolutely changed this kid's
00:52career around.
00:53Had a great year a year ago, one of the better-nosed tackles, and now he signs the richest deal
00:59in NFL history for an interior defensive tackle, making now 26th annual large.
01:05That's a big old bag of money here.
01:07Now, here's the big thing on the side of the Eagles.
01:10Jalen Carter was expected to sign this contract extension.
01:14Their number nine pick a couple years ago, but this past season, with shoulder injuries and also with some character
01:21issues,
01:21remember, he started the game off in the season off against the Dallas Cowboys by spitting at Dak Prescott.
01:27He ended up obviously having an issue there.
01:29He ended up getting suspended, and again, there was a problem with those shoulders.
01:34He ended up outplaying him.
01:36Here's a great example of a player that you kind of watched him kind of limp along his first couple
01:41years in the NFL,
01:42but you had patience with him.
01:44You brought him in.
01:46He ended up getting into a contract deal, and he ended up getting a fifth-year contract picked up.
01:50Now he gets this three-year, $78 million deal with that $65 million guaranteed.
01:56Look, I liked him, you know, this past season.
01:59I still think he has a lot of work to do.
02:02I still think that, again, if you're a one-and-a-second-down player and you're not a third-down
02:07player,
02:08for to get this kind of money here, $26 million, making him the richest nose tackle in the history of
02:14the game,
02:14and that includes Dexter Lawrence.
02:16I don't believe he's Dexter Lawrence, but that's a big bag of money,
02:20and the Eagles are gambling that he's going to continue to improve his football game.
02:25I'll say it once more time about Jalen Carter.
02:28Jalen Carter was expected to be the next wrecking ball that the Philadelphia Eagles had,
02:35and to me, he's not lived up to that yet.
02:37He had a great 2024 when he had Milton Williams on one side, and he also had Josh Sweat on
02:44the other side.
02:45Guys, again, this past season, between his agent Drew Rosenhouse pulling him out of games,
02:50he was supposed to be the one to get the contract extension.
02:53They were talking in excess of $30-plus million for Jalen Carter.
02:58They're probably going to punt on that now, in my expectations.
03:01I think they're going to wait and see what 2026 looks like for Jalen Carter.
03:07One guy is ascending.
03:09One guy is regressing, and that's Jalen Carter.
03:12This is a big sign right here for the Eagles, and this is also a big message to Jalen Carter.
03:18Hey, man, you've got to show up in 2026.
03:22There are so many question marks about this deal, and it really, people thought this past season,
03:27when they got rid of Milton Williams, remember, Milton Williams signed that big contract
03:30with the New England Patriots for $26 million, and then, on the other hand,
03:35you had Josh Sweat sign that $19.75 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
03:40So they moved off of those guys.
03:42They took a blowtorch to the number one overall defense in the Super Bowl year 2024.
03:47They went with Mauro Joma.
03:49They went with other guys.
03:50They went with Timu Sainis.
03:52This was a big move for them, and also, I think, a real disappointment right now
03:56for Drew Rosenhaus and the agent for Jalen Carter.
04:00Supposedly, there was conversations in the Micah Parsons deal that potentially was going
04:06to send Micah Parsons to the Philadelphia Eagles, and they were putting a contract together,
04:10and Jerry Jones, at the last second, did not want to go along with that deal,
04:16and they ended up moving him to the Green Bay Packers.
04:19There's also a conversation going around that there was talk that he was involved in the Max Crosby deal.
04:25So if you're pimping him around and you're making him available, potentially.
04:31Now, again, we're in the land of misinformation right now.
04:35You're going to hear a lot of deals, especially on Monday, when you're going to see some of these numbers
04:40coming up.
04:41These are all agent-driven.
04:42Nothing gets really certified, and nothing gets really official until it goes to the NFL Players Association
04:49and also Park Avenue.
04:51That means Wednesday.
04:52Next Wednesday is the official day of free agency.
04:55So we shall see what happens.
04:57But what a big deal.
04:58Three years, 78 million bucks, 65 in guarantees.
