00:00...MX2 Qualifying Race here at the 78th edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocrosser Nations
00:06here at Ironman Raceway in the USA. Sacha Kunin taking some massive deep breaths.
00:12Cooper was fastest in the free practice session earlier from Kaida Wolf, Sacha Kunin, Ferez and Webster.
00:18Who would it be that comes out on top here though when it matters for the Qualifying Race?
00:23Simon Langenfelder sweeping across the outside, number 7, and down in the first turn
00:28we've got all kinds of riders, one of those was Andrea Adamo, Webster somehow stays up.
00:34Justin Cooper all the way to fighting for second, that is the kind of start from the outside that Team USA needed.
00:40And that is a sigh of relief for them as well, so they know that they can do that from anywhere
00:43if they need it in the next race with RJ Hampshire, but it's Langenfelder who leads, Kunin second,
00:49Cooper third, Harup I think in fourth place on the 32 from Denmark, and then Kaida Wolf there in fifth,
00:56then Webster sixth of Australia, as they sweep through these turns.
01:01McClellan for South Africa, Ferez Spain, Valland France nine, and Rachel is ten, Walsh of Great Britain in 11th,
01:06and then Nakajima of Japan in 12th place.
01:08So a frantic opening lap here in MX2 qualifying, it usually is, and look at these two Red Bull KTMs,
01:17as they have done on so many occasions this year, Kunin almost knack-knacking his way over that single,
01:23somehow stays on the two wheels.
01:25Yeah, I see Langenfelder cut off, Justin Cooper there up the face, but I don't think he really meant to,
01:30it's just the lines kind of converged, but those Red Bull KTMs, you know,
01:34the Carly team has had those bikes out front all year long,
01:37and we're going to see if Kaida Wolf can maybe exact some revenge here.
01:41He was so close to winning his second consecutive MX2 World Championship.
01:45Want to see a replay of a start when we get the opportunity,
01:47because there was a handful of riders that went down in that.
01:51I think Pekelai was one of them for sure, Adamo, but not too many of the bigger names apart from that then.
01:58With Adamo, side by side, Kaida Wolf and Cooper, Justin Cooper.
02:05Ah, almost running out of track there, Kaida Wolf from the Netherlands in orange,
02:08he'll go to the inside, he gets held up behind Langenfelder, shuts the door on Cooper,
02:13who switches back the opposite direction.
02:16De Wolf now up into third.
02:18And Jay Coop, number five, Team USA, looking to find a way past the number eight of the Netherlands.
02:26The only one rider who will be looking intently at this will be Hayden Deegan.
02:29Of course, the original choice for MX2, broke his collarbone a couple of weeks ago in SMX,
02:33and then apparently these two had a bit of bants.
02:36Friendly bants, I'm not so sure, between Hayden Deegan and Kaida Wolf.
02:41But the language that was used, I would say, probably wasn't too complimentary, put it that way.
02:45So I don't know how friendly they are. De Wolf now up in a second.
02:48Will that move on Langenfelder?
02:49Yeah, Kaida's on the gas here. You can just see how aggressive he is at the moment.
02:53And you know he's coming here with a point to prove, right?
02:57He effectively felt like that was his championship to lose this year.
03:01I would argue that it was probably his own inconsistency that got him there.
03:04But this is a chance to leave the 2025 campaign on a positive note.
03:09And he's already kind of attacking in that way.
03:11Yeah, and that's the thing, you know, before you get ready to go into the winter training testing,
03:14you've just had that disappointment of losing the world championship.
03:17But at least come out of this with a good result just to get that head back high again, you know?
03:22Yeah, you see Jacob trying to make a move on Langenfelder here.
03:25Succeeds as well into turn 12.
03:28That left-hander got the big number eight of Kaida Wolf, the new, well, the last year's world champion just ahead of him.
03:36Wants to test himself against the number eight.
03:39Langenfelder trying to lean on the American here at the top of the hill as they fight over that third place.
03:43But it's Cooper hanging on on the number five machine.
03:46Yeah, and Jacob's only got about three days on the 250 here.
03:48So some of those old things take time, you know, carrying more momentum.
03:52You can't rely on the power before 50 anymore.
03:55She's got to pick the intensity back up.
03:57And I think that will come back to him if it hasn't already.
04:00But it does take a little bit of time to find the pace on a 250.
04:03That's nice.
04:04And then you've got, and actually, Howie picked his front wheel up there and dropped down to the side, triple out.
04:08That is a Jet Lawrence line.
04:09But he wasn't able to do that.
04:10He went double single into that turn.
04:12Did the number eight of Kaida Wolf.
04:14But the gap between the first four riders at the end of that first official lap,
04:18then remember, finish line to finish line.
04:20Sasha Coonan at 203.6.
04:22He's one second clear of DeWolf.
04:23DeWolf, though, the fastest lap, 202.7.
04:26Pretty much a second quicker than the Belgian.
04:28Jacob is up to third, 203.9.
04:301.3 behind the Dutchman.
04:32And then Langenfelder down to fourth.
04:344.2 seconds separate the first four riders.
04:37And that's them just heading into turns two and three.
04:40Rider down on the exit of the final turn.
04:42Back onto the start straight there.
04:44Didn't quite see who that was.
04:45It might have been the 53 of Camden McClellan.
04:48If that's the case, McClellan may be down out of eight place.
04:52See Kyle Webster go through there.
04:55You know, I think for Justin Cooper, that pass by DeWolf woke him up a little bit.
04:59You can see the intensity return.
05:01I just stole.
05:02Stalls there, yep.
05:03See Matisse Galland go by.
05:05And I think for Kyle Webster, this type of ride's okay, right?
05:12You see him closing on the reigning MX2 world champion.
05:16That's the type of performance.
05:17If Australia can get a ride like this out of Kyle Webster on Sunday,
05:21it will be very, very difficult to take that championship away from them in 2025.
05:27Well, lap two then.
05:28And Sasha Kunin continues to lead Kaido Wolf.
05:30Those two separated by 1.3.
05:32But Team Australia, the defending champions, Kyle Webster in this one on the number two.
05:38An all Honda HRC team, just like it was last year.
05:42Webster in that fifth place.
05:43Langenfeld and less than a second ahead of him as they reemerge over at the GoPro hill.
05:49But back with our leaders, 47, Sasha Kunin.
05:53Oh, heavy landing there.
05:54Almost folded the front.
05:56Back came around on him.
05:58DeWolf will see that and he'll think, you know what?
06:00I've got this kid rattled.
06:01Stretches out there.
06:02Comes up short.
06:03Did he run out of real estate?
06:05Because two quick successive mistakes.
06:07There was another one just after the next double.
06:09I mean, he's still there.
06:10But he might have had to take a visit to the berries farm.
06:16Now he's under pressure all of a sudden.
06:20Nine-tenths the gap between Kunin and DeWolf.
06:23So interesting when he talked to Sasha Kunin about crashes like this.
06:29He never remembers them.
06:30Take a look at the start.
06:30All eyes over to the left-hand side.
06:32Three gates out on the number five.
06:35Justin Cooper.
06:37But also Adamo here in the thick of it.
06:39There's Cooper's light gate all the way across here.
06:41And then watch the bottleneck going in.
06:43Handed full of riders.
06:44Maybe six or seven guys down.
06:45Adamo at the bottom of it for Italy.
06:47He's now up in the twelfth place.
06:50Yeah, and you saw the game plan there for Justin Cooper.
06:52Get the jump.
06:53And then you've got to drive deep.
06:54Watch how far he drives all the way.
06:57When they let off, he still drives deep, deep, deep.
06:59And then he finds real estate on the outside there.
07:01So that was a great line for Justin Cooper as he got across everybody.
07:13I think he was up the inside of Francesco Garcia.
07:16In the red and yellow.
07:19Where is Garcia for Spain, actually?
07:22Sorry, yeah, not Garcia.
07:24It would have been Perez.
07:28See, Jacob has now latched on to the back of the wolf.
07:31That's what I was going to mention.
07:32I think it woke him up a little bit.
07:34And it helps when you have someone to kind of latch on to and chase.
07:38You know, it's difficult, I think, for Jacob to really know what the pace is
07:42because he hasn't raced the 250 in a few years.
07:44So he's guessing a little bit as what the intensity needs to be, what the pace needs to be.
07:48This is giving him a good gauge now.
07:50But, excuse me, at the same time, when you've been on a bigger bike,
07:53you just have the tendency just to want to wring the neck off it, don't you?
07:56Absolutely.
07:56Four-strokes are very, very similar power.
07:59So just to get on and it's just a matter of, I think it's just the gear shifting, isn't it?
08:03You know what I mean?
08:04Because you can rev the nuts off it and go nowhere, but at the same time, when you,
08:07I love this section through here, when you get that gear shifting right,
08:12that gives you the drive at the rear wheel just to keep propelling you forward.
08:15And it's just those little, I don't know, idiosyncrasies, if you like, that make the difference.
08:20He'll figure it out by the end of today, though, with race mode.
08:22And there's some muscle memory going on there as well, right?
08:24It's going to get easier as the weekend goes on.
08:26But I just think finding someone, this is the best pace on the racetrack.
08:31Now he knows what the expectation is and he knows what the pace is.
08:34And now I think you start to see him settle in, a mistake there from Kai.
08:37But I think he's comfortable with the situation now.
08:42So Kai DeWolf then under pressure from Justin Cooper all of a sudden.
08:45Cooper a couple of years off of the 250.
08:47As Jason Thomas says, that muscle memory coming back pretty quickly.
08:50Knows he's got a great machine underneath him with that Star Racing Yamaha.
08:55It is Hayden Deegan's machine that he's riding.
08:58Pretty much jumped on, maybe positions and levers, that's about it.
09:01Because there's nothing wrong with that bike in outdoor competition, we know that.
09:06And that's got to be good as well, isn't it?
09:08You know, you go, oh, yeah.
09:09So the good news is, you know, the bad news is you've got like four days to get yourself ready for the nations.
09:15The good news is you're going to be riding a Star Yamaha.
09:17The better news is it's probably one of the best bikes, if not the best bike on the grid out there.
09:22Yeah, and they all practice together, same facility.
09:24They all live within a, you know, 15 kilometer radius of each other.
09:28So they're all acutely aware of bike settings, team changes, technicians.
09:33They all work in conjunction all the time.
09:35So if you're looking for a fill-in at the last second, this is about as good as it's going to get.
09:40Sasha Coonan, impressive ride for him at the moment.
09:42You know what?
09:42Only three and a half seconds separate the first three.
09:44Coonan, DeWolf, and Cooper.
09:46So Coonan not getting too far away.
09:49We'll find a rider out there any moment now.
09:51There he is.
09:51That's Coonan.
09:53How smooth was Jet Lawrence's line around there?
09:55Up, over the plateau, on the downside.
09:57Yeah, I mean, he was really pushing into that berm.
10:01A little bit scary, but the time savings there, right?
10:04Like, he doesn't really take outside risk, which would tell you he probably is very comfortable with that line.
10:09But those little things like that, you don't, again, they won't kind of make a headline.
10:14They won't be on the highlight reel, but those are the places he makes up time.
10:17Yeah, Sasha Coonan going off track there just before he went under the bridge after that monster jump a moment ago.
10:22Had a bit of a pitch.
10:23He was leaning forward, went off track, went around about three markers before getting back on track again.
10:29Would have cost him a little bit of time, not too much, but this is his first ever motocrosser nations.
10:33He should have been a 250 rider last year, but then he got injured towards the end of the year,
10:37and he wasn't really in a place to go racing.
10:39So Lucas Coonan was brought down from a 450 to a 250.
10:44That massively reshaped the team, and Lucas Coonan could have had his fantastic opportunity.
10:50He crashed out in race one whilst challenging fourth place.
10:53And the lead 250 guy, I remember, at Mattelie Basin, that wrecked his collarbone shoulder.
10:57So Sasha Coonan hoping just to get through and be the best Coonan here this weekend and the best MX2 rider.
11:03Pretty amazing this is the first time in America for either of the Coonan brothers.
11:07To be this good at this level of racing, you would have thought they would have come over for an amateur race or to visit,
11:13even to visit with sponsors.
11:14This is the first attempt for Sasha to be performing like this.
11:18I think speaks volumes about what his capabilities are long term.
11:21Yeah, and he's stabilizing that gap as well, increasing the gap.
11:24More than two seconds over Kaida Wolf.
11:27Here's the number 11 Spaniard of Guillaume Ferrez on that Monster Energy Triumph.
11:31He's got Giannis Rachelis on the 29th, the Latvian just behind him.
11:37These two fighting over sixth position at the moment.
11:41Mattis Villan behind him in eighth place, about another second or so back.
11:44Then Hart of Denmark and Camden McClellan in 10th place.
11:48So three triumphs in that sort of lower part of the top 10.
11:52Sixth place, ninth place and 10th position for them.
11:59No stranger to racing in the U.S. of course, Guillaume Ferrez.
12:02But what was it, two, three years?
12:04Maad just by injury after injury.
12:06And then he's taken a route back to the MX2 World Championship this year.
12:10Had some success.
12:12Well, it's really all started on a tryout, right?
12:14A tip was given to the Monster Yamaha Star Racing trainer there, Garth Swanepoel.
12:19He said, hey, let's give him a shot.
12:20He comes over and presses.
12:22And the rest is history.
12:24He's been on Factor Equipment ever since.
12:25Ross Beaton there just grabbing that scaffold pole.
12:29The brother of Jed Beaton is very instrumental in the Junior World Championship program for Team Australia, of course.
12:35And just a little bit extra backroom staff for Team Australia's team management there of Michael Byrne and Gary Benn as well.
12:43Just a widely experienced individual.
12:47Been around the job many, many years.
12:49Late 70s and still looking as young as ever.
12:53And it's enthusiastic as ever, Gary Benn, for Australia.
12:56Such a team effort, too.
12:57You see Tommy there, the normal mechanic for Chance Hymas becomes Kyle Webster's mechanic as Kyle Webster has a full factory Honda HRC bike.
13:06Probably the best equipment he'll have all season long.
13:08The same bike that Joe Shimoda rode?
13:10Absolutely.
13:11Yeah.
13:11It's a big effort from them.
13:13I was told they produced seven works bikes for this race across all the teams and riders and countries.
13:19So Honda HRC representing this weekend.
13:21Wow.
13:23Battle for the lead then starting to reshape.
13:25Seven minutes plus two laps to go.
13:28First and second.
13:28Sasha Coon and Kaida Wolf.
13:30Jay Coop.
13:31Justin Cooper now.
13:313.7 seconds behind the Husvana rider from the Netherlands.
13:36Number eight.
13:36So he had a bit of a go.
13:39Had a bit of a stab.
13:40So whether he made a small mistake here and there and just lost that impetus and looking around thinking, you know what, third is going to be OK.
13:47We've got a nine from Eli in race one.
13:50If RJ Hampshire can go out and get a better result than a nine, obviously they'll take Jay Coop's and RJ's scores into the qualifying.
13:58It just depends on how that will be.
13:59As it stands right now, look, with Jet Lawrence winning the MXGP qualifying race and Kyle Webster fifth in this race at the moment.
14:10Australia on six points.
14:11Germany are also on six because Kenny Rockson had a second.
14:15Langenfelder a fourth.
14:16So a two and a four.
14:17Six points.
14:18And then Belgium are third with a six and a one.
14:21So that sixth place in this one point with Coonan at the moment propelling them up into that third place.
14:27Spain would be fourth.
14:28France fifth.
14:28USA with a 12.9.
14:30Sorry, a 9.3, giving them 12 points.
14:32They would be sixth gate pick as it stands right now.
14:35Or they would qualify sixth going into the races on Sunday.
14:38But still one more race to come.
14:39Yeah, and my bias is probably showing, but I truly don't think there's a huge difference there on the gate pick, especially at this particular racetrack.
14:46So, yes, would American fans want to see Team USA win on Saturday?
14:51Sure, it's great for momentum and sentiment and all those things.
14:54But when it really comes down to it on the starts tomorrow, first gate pick versus third, fourth, fifth gate pick, it really won't matter a whole lot unless you specifically want to be next to the doghouse.
15:05You know, the starting box there.
15:07Outside of that, not a whole lot of advantage.
15:09You think they will go to the doghouse or you think they'll be a little bit more sort of mid left?
15:13I think some riders would.
15:15Riders like Hayden Deegan have typically gone there.
15:17Of course, he's not there this weekend.
15:18But you just have a little bit of room for error.
15:21If you don't get the jump you want, they can really lean into the power that that Yamaha has and use that to pull themselves forward with the extra room.
15:29So, it's really personal preference.
15:31But this is one of the races.
15:33And there are so many racetracks around the world where the starting position is so critical.
15:38This just happens to not be one of them.
15:39Mattis Valan going after Giannis Resilis, the 2025 European 250 champion.
15:45125 champion as well, two years ago.
15:48So, the number 29 over on the right side from Latvia.
15:51A little tight through there.
15:53And Valan, that's it.
15:54The binders.
15:56Things get dicey tomorrow.
15:59That's a place we can see some contact.
16:01We've seen a few people.
16:03Sasha Kunin.
16:04Now Valan.
16:04A few people up the inside there with some ill intentions that they lock the brakes up on.
16:09The ruts on the face of that single and the bumps that are hiding, lurking beneath on that part of the racetrack.
16:16They're the kind of things that we don't necessarily see from the drone cam there.
16:20But they're definitely things that suspension guys and riders feel.
16:23And, you know, they look at that to fine tune that, don't they, in those kind of parts of the track.
16:26Yeah, and especially as the bumps.
16:27You see how soft and supple the bumps are.
16:30On other parts of the racetrack, they're getting really hard.
16:32And that really jars the riders.
16:34So, they want to soften the bike a little bit up, add some suspension there.
16:37Valan trying to get alongside Rachelis.
16:40It's going to be bar to bar as they head back down the straight under the tunnel.
16:44Rachelis hanging on for now.
16:46Guillem-Ferres just ahead of them.
16:49So, Perez in that sixth place.
16:51Rachelis in seventh in the Burgundy and white.
16:53Valan, 14th for France.
16:56He's there in eighth place.
16:57McClellan about another one and a half seconds further back.
16:59He did his fastest lap, his best lap a lap ago.
17:02McClellan, there he is on the 53.
17:04And then we've got Harrop about another 12 seconds behind him.
17:07Now, there's a line in that section.
17:09We just watched those two going side by side.
17:11And Hayden Deegan was the only one here last August to actually jump it out.
17:15I'll be interested to see if anybody pulls it out.
17:17A rider like Jet, someone that really wants to find some pace, could use it.
17:20I'll try to point it out to you next hop around.
17:23It's big, but it is incredibly quick.
17:26Horrible couple of corners there.
17:28Everyone trying to sort of stay very, very high to that outside.
17:31But it's almost looking more problematic than anywhere else.
17:34Yeah, and I think the track has gotten really hard over there.
17:37You heard RJ Hampshire talk about how hard it is versus the typical setup here.
17:42So some of those sections, especially that's what they call the GNCC section,
17:46which is where you see riders headed towards right now.
17:48It's the hardest area of the racetrack.
17:50Adama, we just saw a flash of him.
17:52He's in 11th place for Team Italy.
17:54Italy are going to be qualified eighth at the moment with eighth and an 11th.
17:57Oh, Sasha Coonan, again, just testing the boundaries in more ways than one.
18:05Perez just out of these two.
18:07And there's McClellan closing back in on France and Latvia.
18:10Top of the hill, three riders in shot as we come back the opposite way.
18:14Latvia, France and South Africa.
18:15Vinat, trying to soak up that little single, keep that rear wheel on the ground as much as possible.
18:27Gained him a couple of bike lengths.
18:31Still pretty decent, though, for Yanis Raceless.
18:35Can he hang on, though?
18:36He's got another minute and a half or thereabouts, plus two laps in which to do so.
18:41Jay Coop, all of a sudden, fastest lap of the race, 2.01, 3.85 on lap eight.
18:48He's got to get back down to two seconds.
18:50So this is the section.
18:51Deegan will land in the hole there.
18:53There, yeah.
18:54They carry all that speed all the way through here and then all the way around the outside.
18:58It's a lot of risk.
18:59It's a really far jump.
19:00You have to get correct, but I'm telling you, the speed gained through there.
19:04He's probably going 10K faster an hour through there.
19:07And then over the finish line jump as well when he does that?
19:09Yeah, he was maybe the first to ever jump that.
19:13So there's some Deegan-esque lines around this racetrack.
19:18But this is the battle for seventh, eighth place.
19:21The rider in red and yellow, Spain, just ahead of them.
19:23Then we've got McClellan just behind them on the 53.
19:25Yeah, two EMX 250 champions going bar to bar.
19:33And it's the former champ, Valan, finds his way past Giannis Racelis, the latest to do so.
19:40Nervous look over the shoulder, though, for the Frenchman as he messes up on the exit.
19:43Didn't want the Latvian to come back by him.
19:49But instead, McClellan has now found his way past Racelis as well.
19:53So we've got Ferez in six, Valan seven, McClellan eight, Valan and Racelis down to ninth place.
20:00Game on at the top end, though.
20:01This was a lap ago.
20:07Just untidy through there.
20:08Yeah, loses the front, which causes him to lose the rear.
20:12Pretty much made a mess of the entire corner.
20:13And I wonder how much that mulch that they put in there as well, that sort of wood chip and bar,
20:18actually held him up in some respects as well.
20:20Because when he broke traction and then shut off, that just pulls you in.
20:24It sets you in a little bit more.
20:24Got a little depth to it.
20:27Rightio, here we go.
20:29Two lap board getting ready to go out.
20:31Who's going to be crossing the line as a winner, though?
20:33It's going to be Sasha Coonan or Kaida Wolf.
20:35Because as they hit the line at the end of lap nine, the gap between these two is half a second.
20:41But it's the Belgian leading the rider from the Netherlands.
20:47And just lurking in the background, another three seconds further back, Justin Cooper.
20:54Dropping into that inside rut.
20:55Traffic keeping to the outside, out of the way.
20:57And then they're done the fastest lap of the race, Kaida Wolf 2.
21:00The Wolf with a new lap record, 2-0-1-1-5-3 eclipsed what Justin Cooper did a lap ago with a 2-0-1-3-8-5.
21:09So a couple of tenths quicker than the American.
21:11As he gets his claws into the Belgian, Sasha Coonan.
21:19Just under two laps to go.
21:22Impressive ride this, though, from both of them.
21:23Yeah.
21:24Certainly the leader.
21:25And really, you know, these two have been really hot late in the season.
21:29Sasha Coonan winning some GPs there.
21:30So it shouldn't be a surprise.
21:32But I'd be very curious to see if Sasha can hold off Kai.
21:35But you come into your First Nations, a lot of expectation, a lot of pressure.
21:38You wouldn't realize that, though, watching Sasha Coonan, would you?
21:41Well, you know, he's such a rider that I don't think he overthinks situations.
21:45He really just turns the throttle on and lets, you know, that take care of itself.
21:49So this type of race, I think if you overthink it, you put too much pressure on yourself,
21:54it can really work against you.
21:55And I've really never felt that with Sasha.
21:57Over the GoPro step-up.
22:01Tricky turn 13 there around that tree.
22:03A lot of tree roots that you can't see.
22:05Yeah, Sasha kind of losing the front there every single time.
22:08Just wondering if he needs to slide forward a bit there more, if it's line selection.
22:11But consistently having an issue in that corner.
22:14Back markers coming thick and fast.
22:16He has another heavy landing on that part of the racetrack.
22:19A couple laps ago.
22:19He went off track there just before this jump.
22:21Kind of wolf.
22:26Good on this part of the race.
22:29Was until that moment.
22:31That's where it helps to be tall.
22:33Yeah, pushes his weight to the back.
22:37But going into the final lap there.
22:39Oh, another moment for Coonan.
22:41And the gap this time around as they hit the line.
22:45Lappers are going to play a ball here.
22:46And the lappers are going to come thick and fast.
22:49Coonan thinks, right, do I do this?
22:50Do I do that?
22:51Kai DeWorth can read the situation behind him.
22:59Dropping both into that inside line.
23:01Back markers completely unaware that the leaders are coming through here.
23:03So DeWorth has to go outside, inside.
23:06Again, tall.
23:07Able to use that frame to keep himself on balance.
23:09But this is advantage at the moment for the 47 of Sasha Coonan in Belgium.
23:15Back markers falling his way a little bit better than they did for the right at number 8 for the Netherlands.
23:19Especially some of those lines you see Kai have to come to a complete stop on the inside.
23:23It really doesn't work for him.
23:24Just watch this here.
23:25So you work your way into the double.
23:30And then you say, right, we're going to just pop over the top.
23:32And he just kicked.
23:33Just stopped that too early.
23:34That's nice.
23:38Just a little rep just lets the foot drop in and hook out.
23:43Sasha's making a lot of mistakes.
23:44But I really like the way he's putting the track together.
23:47You see he's inside, outside.
23:48He's really not ever breaking his momentum.
23:51And he's making his line choices according to that.
23:54Where I've seen Kai have, not necessarily that he wants to, but trying to take an alternative line.
23:59He's gone to the inside, which is causing him to come to a complete stop and have to rebuild all that momentum.
24:06Another mistake there.
24:07It's almost like the front, he's getting on the gas too early, and the front's getting away from him.
24:11And then he's kind of contemplating where that front end will dip.
24:16Yeah, it's almost, I think maybe if he was a little bit more patient, slid a little bit more forward, and then rolled through the corner.
24:21It's easy for me to say that when I don't have the pressure of trying to leave the race.
24:24But when you have a mistake that's happening every single lap, time after time, there's clearly something going on there.
24:30Right, triples his way through the turn.
24:32Wheelie double.
24:33Good momentum this, but it's only two corners to go.
24:36Before the chequered flag flies, and it will be a win for number 47, Sascha Kunin.
24:42First time at the Nations, takes a win in his first ever race.
24:46And it's the qualifying win for the number 47.
24:51Can breathe a sigh of relief now.
24:582.8 seconds in the end.
25:00DeWolf realized once he got through that sand section, the waves.
25:03And out of that left turn, there was no way he was going to find his way past, unless Kunin went down.
25:07So he's just backed it right off.
25:092.8 seconds.
25:10But Cooper third.
25:11And as it stands right now, Australia lead the way.
25:15Going into the final race today in the qualifying stages.
25:18Six points, same as Germany.
25:20Belgium on seven.
25:21France on 11.
25:22Spain also on 11.
25:24USA on 12.
25:26And, okay, we've just got a disqualification for...
