00:24So, yeah, happy that I managed to, you know, close it in two sides and show some good tennis today.
00:35Hi, Deanna, well done.
00:37I'm just curious, you know, it's obviously the first time, your second week here in Paris.
00:40Just what do you think about this year in regards to your game, it's like clicking that's caused this?
00:46I mean, honestly, I don't know.
00:50Sometimes, you know, there's just some lucky moments that you have, you know.
00:56I mean, obviously, Jazz lost in the first round.
00:58I was supposed to play Jazz, you know, but again, you know, you never know what's going to happen in
01:03the draw.
01:04So, definitely, I feel like, I don't know what clicked, but I guess something definitely clicked.
01:13Maybe in my mind, maybe in my game, but I just try to play the best as I can.
01:19in every match, and I guess it just worked well this week.
01:29Hi, Deanna.
01:30Your opponent had obviously said quite a lot of things about you ahead of the match.
01:34I just wondered, was it a difficult match to go into?
01:37Were you apprehensive at all?
01:39There was a lot of extra security around the court.
01:41I just wonder what it was like to play.
01:43I honestly have no idea what she said.
01:47Yesterday, I was just practicing and getting ready before my match.
01:52So, yeah, haven't heard anything.
01:54I don't know anything about what she said.
01:56I wasn't interested at all.
01:58I actually haven't noticed extra security.
02:01I just went on court as a normal match.
02:03You know, as my coach saying, I'm playing not against open and I'm playing against the ball.
02:07because the ball is the same, it's just different.
02:10Obviously, everyone has their own game style, so I just went on court and just tried to play my best
02:14today.
02:15Thanks.
02:16Hi, congratulations.
02:17She was saying in here two days ago, I guess, that she was upset that you had played a Gazprom
02:23-sponsored exhibition event in Russia a couple times, I think.
02:26And then also likes of yours on social media of a Russian broadcaster, Margarita Simonian, I think.
02:34What are your thoughts on that?
02:35Obviously, she was foregrounding this and making it an issue.
02:39So, how would you sort of respond or defend to those things she would say?
02:43Again, I haven't saw any of her comments or press conferences.
02:48Speaking of exhibition tournament, you know, I'm traveling all year round.
02:53I'm not seeing my family or my friends.
02:55And I have the only one opportunity to play in front of my family and in front of my friends.
03:00Just to spend a little more time at home.
03:02And I see it as an opportunity just to, you know, show some good tennis for my family.
03:09And, I mean, it's the only opportunity, so I've got to use it.
03:12And about social media, I have no idea what she found.
03:18Like, I have no idea.
03:20I mean, so I don't have any comments on that.
03:23Next question, please.
03:26Paul?
03:28So, I guess the theme of this week has been the heat.
03:31But starting tomorrow, it completely flips.
03:33Just how do you think that's going to change your game in terms of how you're approaching on court?
03:37Yeah, I saw that it's going to be actually a big drop in the weather.
03:42Very surprising.
03:43So, good that I have a day off tomorrow.
03:46And I can practice already in colder conditions before next match.
03:52So, I feel like, I guess the point is going to be a little longer.
03:59But overall, I mean, courts are going to stay same.
04:02We just, again, as players, we're just going to adjust to the new conditions as we do.
04:07And we will see how it goes.
04:11You were down 4-1, double break in the first set.
04:14And what do you think changed the momentum of this match?
04:18I don't know.
04:18Obviously, she has a very different game style to the other players.
04:23So, I guess I was just, you know, getting used to her ball and overall her game style.
04:28So, I feel like in the start of the match, I just had, like, a couple of unforced errors.
04:34Like, I would start a point, but then in, like, in the last moment, I would make a mistake.
04:39So, I feel like after 4-1, I got used a little bit more to her ball and then just
04:44started to make more balls and less unforced errors.
04:50Just on the social media thing, again, are you sort of aware as a public figure that people are paying
04:55attention to what you're liking on Instagram and sort of taking, because that was one of the main points was
05:00different videos that you had liked from Simone Yan on Instagram and sort of making, you know, verdicts, you know,
05:09making decisions based on what you were liking on social media.
05:12Yeah, I guess I'm not going to like any comments or any videos anymore on Instagram, but again, honestly, I
05:20don't know what she found and I'm here just to play tennis, not talking about Instagram or video likes or
05:29anything else.
05:30I'm here to do my job, to play tennis, to show some good tennis, good points, enjoy the atmosphere here,
05:39and enjoy the second week of a French Open.
05:43Any final questions in English?
05:46Last one, Sam.
05:49Just so that people are not sort of interpreting your likes or dislikes or anything like that, have you ever
05:55sort of publicly made your feelings about the war known and would you like to be?
05:59Would you like to make that now?
06:01I'm not going to speak anything about the situation.
06:03I'm here just to speak about tennis and about my game, about the second week of a French Open.
06:09Just to enjoy that, making it for the first time.
06:13And that's it, just enjoy the win today.
