00:04Mitch please as in please play after surgery in game one of the NBA Finals we're all over the
00:12breaking news on the Knicks big man the Western Conference Finals going seven which is huge for
00:18the Knicks but who wins on Saturday night and either way I'm more convinced than ever the Knicks
00:24are the best team left and absolutely should and will win a title shine time starts right now
00:44I think we were consistent and we did what we needed to do trusted the game trusted the
00:54basketball guns we talked so much about the other guys that are fighting through stuff but how much
00:59mental and physical fatigue do you have and how are you fighting through it oh I'm good I'm ready
01:04to go biggest game of my career yeah is it the biggest game um it's the next game and if
01:10I lose
01:11my season's over buckle up buttercup we now have a game seven in the Western Conference Finals how
01:21about it look we picked San Antonio to win I did not think San Antonio was going to win like
01:28that
01:29and I don't know if you felt it but I declared this game over and the Spurs would win after
01:36the first
01:37four minutes of the game you saw Wemby hit a couple of bomb threes you saw Wemby block a McCain
01:45shot and this
01:47was like Victor Wimbanyama was shot out of a cannon this was the Victor Wimbanyama just a reminder
01:53I'm a superstar kind of game because we've seen this in the playoffs before right things happen you know and
02:00you judge players on the different rungs of the ladder very good great greats to being a star
02:06superstar face of the league we've had these conversations about Jason Tatum through the years
02:13right Wemby did not play well in game number five this was a talking point and he did not talk
02:19to the press
02:20after the game which added to okay let's see him take his act to the court and speak volumes on
02:28the floor
02:29at home in game number six and wow did he scream with a vengeance Victor Wimbanyama was unbelievable
02:37his inside presence outside presence and he left no doubt no ambiguity and he did this right
02:45in 28 minutes 28 points 28 minutes 10 rebounds three blocks this was unbelievable he made four threes
02:56this is never with Wemby one of these cases where it's like oh why is he hanging around the perimeter
03:01you want him shooting threes because this is who he is and this is what he does and the fact
03:09that he
03:09was able to do this on the heels of his series low in terms of points and shots in game
03:14five and then
03:15of course the misstep of not speaking to the press that shows you who Victor Wimbanyama is as a
03:21player and as a leader and why he's so wise beyond his years now the fact that the Spurs were
03:30able to go
03:30on an 11-0 run in the third when Wemby was on the bench was huge the fact that they
03:34were able to go on a
03:3520-0 run in the third to bury OKC huge Wemby was everything last night I think the secondary portion
03:43of everything was what Castle and Harper brought to the table and I've said this before right and I go
03:48back
03:48to UConn obviously with Castle I think he's absolutely terrific Dan Hurley loved him winning ball player
03:55everything about him was just incredible look I think that when you take a look at Castle and what he
04:01brings
04:02to the table and I was never worried about the turnovers what Castle did last night on offense
04:07what he did on defense what he did distributing I thought it was incredible five rebounds nine assists
04:1317 points Stefan Castle is a terrific terrific ball player Dylan Harper I thought this was huge
04:21especially on a night where the shot wasn't falling for De'Aaron Fox 18 points in 22 minutes
04:27I thought that was really special and sensational stuff the crowd was great Mitch Johnson was
04:33outstanding and OKC was rocked and OKC was buried I thought SGA last night was awful I thought this
04:42was a pathetic performance by the MVP and I I always defend SGA look at that in terms of three
04:49pointers
04:50made zero this is a great graphic that really hits at home he only got to the free throw line
04:55last night
04:56three times so that's obviously problematic when you look at it and you know he flopped early
05:03didn't get a call taken out of his game and SGA was awful and give Castle credit give the Spurs
05:11defense credit
05:12I mean you rarely rarely see SGA spooked SGA was completely taken out of this basketball game
05:21completely taken out and it wasn't just him obviously it starts with him he's the superstar he's the MVP
05:27and he's obviously the best player on the best team in the NBA no question about that but I thought
05:33everyone was bad I mean I thought Chet Holmgren was a negative I thought Hartenstein was no good
05:39live for Alex Caruso and he didn't have that vintage Alex Caruso game
05:44J.W. give him credit for coming back last night but I thought he was atrocious and it's always to
05:52me
05:52and I I applaud players when they try to play but you know if you're not healthy enough if you're
05:58not the star Anthony Edwards you know he won a minutes restriction it comes off the bench whatever it is
06:04you have to throw a Hail Mary with someone like J.W. having him come off the bench and he
06:10was a net
06:10negative literally and figuratively Jalen Williams was minus 18 last night you can't function he was
06:17a negative I mean think about what Williams was last year when OKC won a title I mean the Jordan
06:24Pippen comparison was never obviously apples to apples but the point was noted in terms of Williams
06:32being an excellent defender and being a winning ball player and helping OKC win a title he's obviously
06:39even hurt this entire series and last night he was a double agent I applaud the effort I'm thrilled
06:44that he was able to get back on the floor but he was terrible on defense he was just trying
06:50to figure
06:50himself out and it just was counterproductive here to the cause of trying to ultimately go out and
06:56and find a way to advance to the NBA finals and get ready for the Knicks so honestly I think
07:03that when you
07:04look at it I'm going to stay with it in terms of my prediction for game seven and and listen
07:11I'm not patting myself on the back we've hit every game and there's been no correlation game to game
07:19which is a weird thing oftentimes that's the case but it's been even more pronounced in this series
07:24other game one the actual for seven game series with two great teams you know teams that are fun to
07:32watch
07:32it's been an unwatchable series right I mean the rest of these games have been lopsided there's been
07:38nothing compelling other than the score of the actual series it's 3-3 game seven that's great last night's
07:46game was atrocious game five was atrocious game four was atrocious this this has been a weird and wild
07:54series in so many different ways I I've noticed the point spread in Vegas has already dipped last night
08:01it was four and a half OKC by four and a half as we speak it's three and a half
08:05I wouldn't even be
08:06surprised if it ultimately shifted even more I'll stay with my pick OKC you still have to beat the
08:15champs in their arena an amazingly difficult place to play because it was incredible fans in OKC
08:21and obviously OKC has answered the bell every single time but look they they didn't have a lead last night
08:29that's the first time that the Thunder didn't have a lead in a playoff game you got to go back
08:33to 2016
08:34this was a complete and utter dud in every possible way I'm going to stay with my pick of OKC
08:41in seven
08:42but man it is impossible game to game to take anything that goes from one to the next year when
08:50it comes to this series and if Victor Wembanyama finds a way he's already a freak he's already an alien
08:57he's already a superstar wise beyond his years if he goes into the champs house and beats the Thunder the
09:05thrones the champs knocks off the MVP remember wonderfully so in my opinion Wemby rightly campaigned
09:11for that award if he can win on Saturday night that'll take his legend and his legacy at such a
09:18young age to a fevered pitch meanwhile as the Knicks wait to see who wins in the West how about
09:26Mitchell Robinson he had surgery earlier this week on a broken rights pinky he plans to play in game
09:37one of the NBA finals his back page for the New York Post perfect because I'm sure that's like many
09:45Knicks
09:46fans I was swearing and cursing up a storm when we saw the news that our guy Mitchell Robinson
09:53broke his pinky on his right hand Mitch please he needs to absolutely play in game number one
10:05now a couple of things here and you know obviously we start swearing and the Knicks other than OG
10:12Ananobi and that turned out to be great right because they didn't play him they were smart with it
10:18you know that Friday and Sunday game three and four the Philly series and then OG had a clean bill
10:23of health wasn't even on the injury report for the Cleveland series four games phenomenal played
10:28like OG Ananobi didn't seem remotely injured in any way shape or form the Knicks injuries throughout
10:34this postseason clean I mean that's and you need sometimes a little luck on the injury front
10:41in order to win a championship right Mitchell Robinson not being there would be a huge problem and it's a
10:50huge problem in general right because I think Mitchell Robinson is a dog he's so tough he's so physical
10:57great defensive player great rebounder great veteran presence great leadership and he blocked shots
11:05alter shots also just for the sake of conversation and accuracy you know Mitchell Robinson is so valuable
11:13in general but we really haven't seen maybe you'd have to go back to game two of the Philly series
11:20but we haven't seen that Carl Anthony Towns what the hell are you doing foul trouble game it's been a
11:27minute now I mean go back to the regular season a lot of examples early in Atlanta a lot of
11:31examples
11:32so you always want to make sure that Mitchell Robinson is available for that right you also want to make
11:39sure again we're talking about a winning ball player matchup wise against OKC when they have
11:45Hartenstein and they have Chet in the lineup you know Mike Brown might go to the two bigs playing
11:51together just like he did brilliantly I might add in the first quarter of game four against Cleveland
11:57going up against Allen and going up against Mobley so Mitchell Robinson being out there and being healthy
12:04is huge now you look at what Mitch has done in the postseason sometimes stats lie these stats speak to
12:13it right
12:1414 minutes of gold per game you know five points per game six rebounds a game and he blocks a
12:20shot a game
12:21that's who Mitchell Robinson is that's what he does and you need him out there now Mitchell Robinson can't
12:29shoot free throws anyway it's why the Hacker Mitch strategy is so omnipresent so can Mitch play with a cast
12:39on
12:39his pinky yes am I worried about his offense no he's not an offensive threat anyway I think he's going
12:46to come
12:47down to pain threshold and over the course of a series is he going to exacerbate the injury is this
12:54something where if he plays game one can he go game two can you get Mitchell Robinson out there for
13:00seven
13:01games so obviously you see the news about the pinky and you swear I think with the latest development it's
13:10certainly more positive than negative when I saw the multiple reports this morning that he had the
13:18surgery already like it's not like he's getting surgery had it earlier in the week so the Knicks smartly
13:25didn't have to file an injury report kept this under wraps which is terrific so Mitch got the surgery which
13:31means he's already ahead now regular seasons of you know three week injury it's not the regular season
13:37he's in the NBA finals Mitchell Robinson has been through a hell and back as a the longest standing
13:42member of the Knicks you know in terms of the dog days and the bad days and you know the
13:47chaotic days
13:47he was almost put into a thousand different traits he was almost in the Donovan Mitchell deal right so
13:53for Mitchell Robinson you know he's going to be out there you know he wants to be out there
13:57you know how much he wants to win he's a free agent at the end of the year it's so
14:01attaboy get him next
14:02year so listen this is not news that you want if you're the Knicks or a Knicks fan I feel
14:10like it
14:11could be a million times worse I was not happy last night this morning right now I'm stressing the
14:19positive I mean I think Mitchell Robinson could help the team if he chops off both pinkies because he's
14:26still going to play defense he's still going to be able to rebound the basketball he's still going to alter
14:30shots he's still an energizer bunny and a great leader for this team so as long as he's out there
14:37for the entirety of the NBA finals Mitch please we need you baby we're the New York Knicks absolutely
14:46need Mitchell Robinson for all of those aforementioned reasons and look obviously Mitchell Robinson
14:53and the Knicks are waiting to see who they're ultimately going to play and there's one message
14:58at the end of the day that the Knicks are all about they're not done yet I want you to
15:04feast your
15:04eyes on this cat and OG and their Instagram posts yesterday both saying and it's not a coincidence in
15:11my opinion for more it's all business at practice as they await their opponent here's Mikel Bridges
15:19a lot of questions a lot of talk about how great we are you know how great we've been you
15:25know that
15:25doesn't matter we just got worried about being ourselves and just stay locked in and you know go
15:29win when there's when there's negative things being said about you it's important to ignore them
15:35when there are positive things about you you know it's easy to be able to read them be like feel
15:39good but
15:42you can't do one not the other and so just block out as best you can the biggest thing that
15:48I think
15:48should help us is knowing that as a group the last time we went through this um you know we
15:56started off
15:56a little slow in that game and um you know we can't afford to do that again and that is
16:05amazing that is
16:07exactly what you want to hear if you're a fan of the Knicks because it's always easy to sit here
16:15and say
16:15well they've already reached their goal right and the New York Knicks had to make the finals because
16:21of what happened with Tom Thibodeau it's important to go back there I also think that if you listen to
16:28those quotes if you listen to Carl Anthony Towns talk about how there was no partying after they won the
16:38Eastern Conference they were able to soak up the moments they did it for 24 hours and then as a
16:44group
16:44the entire group Mike Brown Jalen Brunson Carl Anthony Towns and company bam instantly on to the next
16:53this team is so locked in and I'm not going to sit here and say oh the seasons of failure
16:59if they don't win
17:00a championship but now forget about the whole the expectations post Tom Thibodeau the expectation is
17:09the Knicks win a title everyone could see it everyone could feel it you watch the Western Conference
17:16finals we're talking about these lopsided games there are injuries there's bad basketball the New York Knicks
17:30are absolutely locked in to winning a chip the New York Knicks will not get embarrassed in the NBA
17:38finals my expectation watching them play on this 11 game heater with the best point per game
17:44differential in the history of the NBA playoffs going into the NBA finals my expectation is they're
17:49winning a championship for the first time in my lifetime and I feel even more convinced about that
17:54listening to those sound bites what Bridges and Katz and Brunson and obviously what coach Mike Brown had
18:00to say no one's having a parade for just making the finals nobody is partying like it's 1999
18:08that team didn't win a championship and remember 99 Patrick Ewing was injured and that team was dead
18:14on arrival that was an eight seed they played great it was a shortened season the whole thing was weird
18:19when you take a look at this team right now and yeah there's smiles on the faces but look at
18:26Brunson
18:26Brunson is locked in I can't wait to see him fully smile after the Knicks win a championship by the
18:35way
18:35this is the first time in the history of the NBA there will be a team playing against three consecutive
18:45foes that went to a seventh game think about that for a second the Knicks played against Philadelphia
18:52Knicks played against Cleveland and the Knicks are going to play against the Western Conference winner we
18:57have a game seven coming up on Saturday night that means and Mike Brown hit this home and they learned
19:04from going from Philly to Cleveland obviously in that fourth quarter in game one they had incredibly
19:11fresh legs which was terrific they are practicing with a point and a purpose they understand that they
19:19need to start hot either in San Antonio or OKC they understand that you know they're going to be people
19:26who
19:26just don't believe in them you know Knicks fans can say bing bong until the cows come home we're all
19:33excited
19:34but the job's not close to being finished I'm not going to call it a failure if they don't win
19:41but the bar has been raised and there's a great unbelievable locked in internal focused with that
19:50group where you listen to those quotes the New York Knicks will not celebrate anything other than a
19:58championship even if you go back to the dopey NBA cup they didn't raise a banner Eastern Conference
20:05finals they're not going nuts they are locked in OG had that great post on Instagram Cat had the great
20:12post on Instagram it's not about you know they're going out and you know going to great restaurants in
20:18New York City four more that's it it's a singular focus job isn't finished media and fans can say great
20:27you need to make the finals things have changed and you're watching OKC they're injured and they're
20:31vulnerable you're watching San Antonio you're saying hey respect the hell out of MB and if for
20:36some reason if the Spurs win game seven and Victor Wimbanyama has to you know go to the NBA finals
20:41off
20:41that everyone and their mother is going to be picking San Antonio to win bring them on bring them on
20:47you have to play the Knicks you have to play the hottest team in the history of the NBA postseason
20:54the Knicks know the job isn't done that's why we as the media fans can raise the bar here for
21:03this team
21:04because you can see it you can feel it you can visualize it because of the way they're acting
21:11the New York Knicks are absolutely going to win a championship time to shine on football OTAs are in
21:18full swing around the league draft picks are working out with vets free agent signings traded players meeting
21:23their new teammates it's Christmas in May let's whip around camps read between the lines of the chatter
21:29starting with Matthew Stafford talking about his new understudy in LA yeah no doubt I think my job
21:37first and foremost is to get myself and our team ready to play as best I possibly can he's a
21:41part of
21:41that team there's no question about it we're in a unique position in the fact that we play the same
21:45position I have a ton of experience and he's just now starting his journey as an NFL player so listen
21:50I
21:50know he's going to watch not only me but other guys you know and Stetson he's been around a little
21:55bit too and really just soak up as much coaching as he possibly can he's a guy that asks questions
21:59I've been trying to answer those as honestly and as thoroughly as I possibly can he's a smart kid
22:04he's got talent obviously he's you know a high draft pick so I'm happy to add good players to our
22:09team
22:09he's one of them but my job is you know go out there and get myself and our team as
22:16ready to
22:16as ready to play as I possibly can listen I'm obsessed with that and not surprised Matthew Stafford
22:22putting on a clinic on how to handle drafting the next franchise quarterback for the LA Rams and
22:28listen I'm I'm obsessed and that right there that's how you put out a fire before you even start it
22:34right also let's be clear here right it's like buying a your wife if you know you're in trouble
22:40you know a shiny expensive piece of jewelry they made sure in LA to give Matthew Stafford a brand new
22:46contract to make sure there were no hard feelings rights and Stafford wants to win and I'm sure he
22:53wanted Makai Lemon obviously but it didn't happen that that's in the past now it's about what are the Rams
23:01going to do moving forward and I think this is everything here for Los Angeles because the LA Rams
23:06had an unbelievable offseason so if you're Stafford if you're a Rams fan you could be confused you could
23:13be upset about Ty Simpson why is he here could have had a weapon that conversation will be real during
23:20the regular season if in fact they need a big play at the wide receiver position and obviously if
23:26Lemon's making plays in Philadelphia like it's not dead and buried yet in any way shape or form
23:31but how do you ultimately silence that conversation you win you win big and when you take a breath
23:40Rams are the best team and the literal favorites in Vegas to go out and win the Super Bowl to
23:46me
23:47barring anything unforeseen they'll be my pick I mean right now I'm looking at the Rams and the Cowboys as
23:55the
23:55top two teams in the NFC so Stafford is you know 38 turning 39 the week before the Super Bowl
24:01in Los
24:02Angeles no reason to think he's slowing down Puga Naku is back Devonta Adams offensive line is strong
24:09two-headed monster running back defense is vastly improved see a problem fix a problem the DBs you
24:15know couldn't stop Jackson Smith the Jigua bam less need adds Trent McDuffie among others in the defensive
24:21backfield so I think that Stafford his first public comments since the selection of Simpson
24:27phenomenal and not a surprise he's the MVP is the epitome of class and he knows how to make sure
24:34that
24:34everyone is focused on the singular goal of going out and winning another Super Bowl in LA to the Ravens
24:41camp Lamar remains his longtime coach John Harbaugh is a giant so how does Lamar feel about that he was
24:48asked I mean you know I got a lot of respect for coach so me just saying that man it
24:54was
24:55I was shocked you know in a way in a sense but uh I feel like you know Mr. Steve
24:59he did what was best for
25:00the team and uh you know I hope coaches have a great great time in New York man how's off
25:06the
25:06coach we did so much uh for for the for the city for the team for this organization um hats
25:12off to him
25:13in uh New York and we built a lot we did a lot here terrific stuff from Lamar Jackson yesterday
25:19I
25:19thought he put on a clinic on how to handle that and I also know and I've interviewed Lamar a
25:25lot
25:26that's very genuine first of all John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson won a ton of games and they will
25:33always be in the story for both of them and the Ravens attached right I also think and if you're
25:40a Giants fan you're thrilled you have John Harbaugh and he's you know got a Hall of Fame resume an
25:44adult
25:44in a room I also think it was the right time to cut the cord in Baltimore I do I
25:49mean he was there for
25:50close to two decades and the last few years were you know not smooth sailing we know how it ended
25:56they didn't make the playoffs last year and it was time to move on and sometimes in sports that's just
26:02how it is I think this benefits the Giants and I think it benefits the Baltimore Ravens and Jesse
26:08Minter is a stud and Lamar talked about that he's a great young defensive coach who was in Baltimore under
26:15Harbaugh I think it's terrific I think it's terrific for everyone involved now I do think
26:21that Baltimore and you know you get past I don't even consider the whole Crosby stuff anymore and
26:27they brought in Trey and they kept their draft pick I think I started offensive lineman I think the
26:31Ravens have a really good team and with Lamar Jackson a healthy Lamar Jackson you're always going to
26:37find a way to win a ton of games I'm not quite ready yet to put the Ravens in the
26:46Buffalo Bills or put
26:48them in the even the Cincinnati Bengals category when it comes to the elite teams when you look at it
26:55in the AFC I'm not there yet I currently and again we don't lock in playoff teams until after Labor
27:02Day
27:03right now I would have I would absolutely have Baltimore in the playoffs I might have them third
27:08place in their division making the playoffs I might structure it Cincinnati Pittsburgh Baltimore with
27:14all three double-digit wins and all three making the playoffs so I thought Jackson handled that
27:19incredibly well I never get bent out of shape if a player doesn't show up at the offseason program
27:27you know people like oh rip Aaron Rodgers if he's a I've never done that never done that I no
27:32one
27:32rips Justin Herbert for hanging out with Madison Beer and why not I mean who wouldn't I just Lamar
27:39wasn't there early great well I don't get worked up about that but the fact that he was there yesterday
27:44and said what he said that mattered to me and I thought Lamar put on a master class of how
27:50to handle
27:51the football post Harbaugh and now the present and the future here with Jesse Minter Patty's back it's been
27:59a quiet offseason for Patrick Mahomes and he finally got in front of a camera and told us that he's
28:05ready
28:06to get back on the field as a competitor I want to be out there with my guys but I
28:11know that's still a
28:12long ways away and so all I can do is just execute the day and do whatever I can to
28:16be better that day and
28:17so we've done that up until now and we've kind of set these checkpoints and these goals of like
28:22where I want to be at and I've gotten to those and so now I'm going to continue to do
28:24that at the right
28:25at the right pace I'm going to give myself a chance so by the way I work to be the
28:31best I can be and so
28:33I'm in a good spot now compared to where some people thought but I thought I was going to be
28:37here
28:37so it's just just just doing what I'm supposed to do every single day and then hopefully that gives me
28:42the chance to be out there with the guys whenever we start the season look the fact that Patrick
28:47Mahomes who shredded his knee right like we're talking ACL we're talking PCL the fact that he's
28:54practicing in late May and he's on the field and you see the brace on his left leg right there
29:00and
29:00he's wearing the compression as well I mean this this is inspiring and not that I need to remind you
29:08but you know Patrick Mahomes has had a couple of relatively quiet seasons right Patrick Mahomes is
29:16still Patrick Mahomes my opinion last 50 years in the NFL still the second best quarterback after Tom
29:21Brady Patrick Mahomes I live for Josh Allen and Josh Allen is Paul Bunyan and Nolan Ryan and John Elway
29:28rolled into one Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes and that's the ultimate compliment and the fact
29:34that he's out there and healthy and running around and there's no setbacks well that kind of changes
29:39everything right that changes the entire map on the Kansas City Chiefs and I I think this is inspiring
29:48here and you know we kind of got on the league for putting Kansas City in prime time week one
29:54and week
29:54two against Denver and Indy respectively because of the I don't know quotient with Patrick Mahomes I mean no one
30:02wants to see a backup quarterback play in a window of exclusivity but I thought this was a pretty big
30:08deal
30:08I truly did and as long as everything is moving in the right direction here and there are no setbacks
30:15how great is it for the league and how sweet would it be to see Patrick Mahomes under center he's
30:22handing
30:22it off to Kenneth Walker his new running back I mean this this is inspiring right like if you're
30:29if you're a football junkie if you're a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs I mean this will get you
30:36going in the month of May here Mahomes light years ahead of schedule and look in terms of work ethic
30:43and focus you know he's he's Jordan-esque he's Kobe-esque when it comes to attacking this kind of rehab
30:51right so I think this is pretty awesome we need to make sure we pay this off here in terms
30:56of work ethic
30:57and dedication and sheer genius on the gridiron to Vikings camp will the real Minnesota quarterback
31:05please stand up no matter how tall you are
31:10it's been great it's been great um obviously I know he's a younger guy so any any way I can
31:15help him
31:15obviously I feel like you know I've played seven years now going on eight um so I'm considered a
31:19veteran even though I don't see myself as that uh give him any knowledge that he needs um again you
31:24know we're both uh competitors and I know you know uh we both won what's best for the team
31:31of course of course yeah he's not he's uh overly acceptive you know and he's he's uh always
31:35communicating asking questions stuff like that so it's been good JJ what's your relationship been like
31:39with Kyler so far you know it's just like two guys in a classroom you know he sits on one
31:44side I sit on
31:45the other side and it's the coach's responsibility to teach us and coach us so is there any awkwardness
31:51like between you two um awkwardness you know it's just like the same feeling you know when you're in
31:57high school and there's another person on the other side of the room that's just kind of how it is
32:00so
32:01I wouldn't say there's any awkwardness it's like Kyler and JJ McCarthy in two different universes right
32:07there I mean what what are we talking about so a couple of things right and I loved JJ McCarthy
32:15at
32:15Michigan and I love the draft pick let me say that out loud on record then he got hurt shredded
32:22his knee
32:22couldn't take a snap even in practice let alone in game as a rookie that's a setback what the Vikings
32:28did and I got Chris Adolfa Mensah their general manager fired last year at the quarterback position
32:32was the single worst example of how to treat the most important position in sports in the history of the
32:37NFL you had your quarterback at Sam Darnold you let him go you had Daniel Jones let him go Aaron
32:43Rodgers
32:43wanted to sign that we're good traded for Sam Howell here's JJ McCarthy here's Carson Wentz and what
32:50a surprise a disaster and if you listen to McCarthy right there what are we doing seriously and Kyler
32:59Murray just spoke like a 15 year vet far cry from the guy who once needed a clause in his
33:04contract that
33:05he would not play video games and study X amount of hours of film you know call of duty used
33:10to be his
33:10calling card I think Kyler Murray needs every single rep with Justin Jefferson I think he needs to be
33:17getting the reps with the with the first team offensive line with Jefferson with Jordan Addison
33:23with Jawan Jennings who they smartly brought in as a free agent from San Francisco
33:27what why are we messing around in Minnesota I think the Minnesota Vikings have a golden opportunity
33:33to be a surprise team and make the playoffs they have a terrific head coach who's a quarterback
33:38whisperer Kyler signed the one-year deal which is perfect because he's gonna work his ass off you're
33:43gonna get the best version of Kyler Murray and obviously look at someone like Kevin O'Connell he
33:48is a quarterback whisperer a quarterback guru so I just stop the insanity JJ McCarthy you thought he
33:56was a guy you fired the general manager who messed the whole thing up just let Kyler cook let him
34:03do his
34:03think stay just stop the nonsense stop the fight JJ JJ McCarthy doesn't know which way is up it's over
34:12it's done name Kyler Murray the the starting quarterback let him walk like the starter act like the starter lead
34:20like the starter let him throw the ball downfield skip the chemistry with Justin Jefferson don't put
34:25yourself behind the eight ball let Kyler Murray cook top channel baseball the game on the field is
34:33thriving but a lockout loops here's what MLB commissioner Rob Manford had to say to Pat McAfee
34:39this past week on what he thinks needs to get done our payroll gap from top to bottom is 446
34:46million dollars
34:48you know that's not a fair fight you know and and the numbers really bear out that it's not a
34:55fair
34:55fight if you have a high payroll you're much more likely to make the playoffs and if you have a
35:00high
35:00payroll your chances of going to each of the successive rounds are massively higher than a low payroll club
35:07and you know look fans want competition that's what it's about at the end of the day and we need
35:12to get
35:12that one fixed no work stoppage hey listen you know what there's no one who wants to avoid a work
35:19stoppage more than I do believe me everything hey they put that on your ass my guy Pat McAfee put
35:28on a
35:28clinic right there and Rob Manfred who I am in general not a fan of Rob Manfred has done in
35:38recent years
35:39a terrific job you know far cry from when he referred to the World Series trophy and the Astros scandal
35:45as
35:45a piece of metal Rob Manfred we've ripped him for being totally out of touch out of tune Manfred in
35:51recent years has done some great stuff gotta be fair gotta be honest pitch clock amazing getting rid of
35:58the shifts you could have more action amazing the way he structured the playoff schedule how many teams who
36:05get buys more teams in action at the trade deadline regular season more juice than ever before ratings
36:12are up ratings of the playoffs are off the charts phenomenal if there is a work stoppage it's on you
36:19Rob Manfred don't you ruin the game I love don't you do it I don't want blood on your hands
36:28Rob Manfred
36:29because it's gonna always and only come back to you now with that said the first proposal that's been
36:38out there I thought was a great one now of course the union turned it down and did all sorts
36:43of grand
36:44standing and a quote I would show you the quote from the new head of the union but I don't
36:49give a damn
36:50like all I want is baseball okay that's that's all I want don't you ruin my joy and have a
36:58lockout
36:59in December where there's no trades and free agency and you can't buy your a kid a jersey for Christmas
37:08or tickets because you don't know if there's gonna be baseball if you ruin all the good Rob Manfred I'm
37:14coming for you I mean it's all you baseball right now is back baseball is unbelievable baseball buzz
37:23conversation the ratings the attendance the stars the game is better than ever and it took a minute
37:31right baseball was trailing everybody baseball is officially back don't you ruin it now I give
37:38a man for credit he put into the first proposal a salary cap floor 171.2 mil salary cap 245
37:49point
37:50mil and players would receive 50% of the revenue now I think this is amazing let me also say
37:58that
37:59I've always argued while there are fans who will say oh the Dodgers the Blue Jays the Mets the Yankees
38:06the Cubs they're bad for the game I would always rather have teams that spend than don't I think the
38:14teams that don't spend than the owners pocket the money and don't give it back to the players or to
38:19the fans they're worse for the game salary cap floor 171.2 that's great the reason why besides the fact
38:29that you know the union is not gonna say great first you know proposal yes you know problem solved
38:34that's not how negotiations don't anything work I I really think here that they want to make sure
38:41that they don't lose for the superstar the great player the ability for the Dodgers and the Mets
38:47and the Blue Jays and the Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies to bid because this might help the the average
38:54player a salary cap floor but you know it's not like the Minnesota Twins are going all in on Shohei
39:03Otani that's not how it's ever going to work right you know if Aaron Judge you know like he was
39:09a few
39:09a few years ago as a free agent you're not going to get the Tampa Rays offering him what the
39:14San
39:14Francisco Giants did it's just not how it works so I understand that there needs to be a little bit
39:22more you know and we'll see ultimately how this plays out I also and I know I speak for baseball
39:28fans
39:29everywhere I don't care what the final result is in terms of you know whether the billionaires or the
39:36millionaires win there just needs to be no lockout because fans groove on the offseason the baseball
39:43hot stove it's already the hot stove not what it was and frankly it could be should be you know
39:51when
39:51we get closer I'll give you my way to solve the whole baseball hot stove crisis because I could guide
39:56Rob Manfred on that I'll tell you exactly what needs to be done don't you dare lock these players
40:02out don't you dare have a work stoppage don't you ruin the game that I love between the lines Braves
40:09continue to dominate the league how about this former Red Sox ace Chris Sale reminded Boston
40:14they should have never let him go Braves able to absolutely rock the Boston Red Sox Acuna Jr. with
40:21a grand slam the the Chris Sale led Braves taking care of business if you're a Red Sox fan and
40:28you see
40:28so many former Red Sox just dominance around Major League Baseball man it drives you nuts Red
40:35Sox are the biggest embarrassments in all of Major League Baseball and let's be honest another
40:41example of how the Atlanta Braves need to be taken seriously and as we said earlier this week they're
40:47the best story in Major League Baseball to the Pirates just yesterday I talked about how I believe
40:52they're going to win the NL Central well you can't keep wasting Paul Skeen starts and gems 10 strikeouts
41:01over five and a third and a gift is Warner and Ron and they got absolutely trucked by the Cubbies
41:08that
41:08can happen now they are going to get Sharon Jones back which is a big deal hasn't pitched in a
41:14couple
41:14years he's gonna pitch tonight for him look they need to make the playoffs I mean it's it's all there
41:22it's no
41:22excuse the the Pittsburgh Pirates have to first of all you need to stockpile these wins right there's no
41:30excuse when you're pitching Paul Skeens and he strikes out 10 so let's let's make sure we get this done
41:37when
41:37I say we I mean us when I say us I mean baseball fans we not just the amazing long
41:44-suffering Pirates fans
41:45this is a we situation we want to watch Paul Skeets in the playoffs so let's go boy there's more
42:07you morons you want Brunson you know what you're gonna get Brunson I'm officially now just rooting
42:15for San Antonio because you want Brunson you want Brunson you want the most clutch player in in the in
42:22the NBA you want someone who acts like Mark Messier and Derek Jeter when it matters the most
42:29you want Brunson you'll get the full Brunson that's the show if you missed any portion of the show
42:36just do what I do we watch it over and over and over again nobody loves me quite like me
