00:00We're heading back to the Caribbean in the 1700s for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Re-Synced,
00:06a complete remake of the fan-favourite instalment.
00:08Redoing a game allows for improvements and such,
00:11and it's been confirmed that although the map itself isn't getting any bigger,
00:15it won't be quite the same as before.
00:17During a Reddit AMA, creative director Paul Thu answers a question on the overall size of the world
00:23compared to the original release.
00:25The map's size remains the same, at 16x16km, he explains.
00:29However, the world is now a little more dense,
00:32with new islands and new locations nestled in the cities.
00:35This seems like the right approach, as scale was not an issue in Black Flag.
00:39In fact, the world felt appropriately grand,
00:42providing plenty of space for naval battles on top of island hopping.
00:46It's not a small game by any means.
00:48Thu's choice of words makes me think there'll be less aimless moving around,
00:52and more treasure of varying descriptions will be in your vicinity at any given time.
00:56In another response, Thu confirms what were previously special online events,
01:01like the White Whales and Royal Convoys, are now built into the game,
01:05and they're bolstered by anomalies, limited-time missions used in shadows.
01:10Still, my first and only goal is to destroy as many opposing ships as I can on open water,
01:16and if I take out Moby Dick in the process, well, all the better.
01:19I'll see you next time.
