00:00Well, you start by building that experience, right, and try not to change it very much.
00:05But we knew we needed, the naval experience was actually very, very good, right?
00:10Even if you play it today, we knew we needed that experience first.
00:13And then what, the next step to that is not to change it, is not to add all these dramatic
00:18new features.
00:18It's just to add on a little bit, make it slightly more comfortable.
00:22And so the biggest thing I would say with the naval gameplay changes is through the officer abilities
00:27and through the new alternate fire weapons.
00:30But they don't fundamentally change the game.
00:32They just give you new tactical options.
00:34So any time while I'm aiming, okay, which firing mode do I want for the broadside?
00:38The one that fires further or fires more volleys closer?
00:42And so it gives you a way to kind of change things on the fly without having to go into
00:46a menu and equip some other thing, right?
00:48And the same with the officers.
00:50They've joined your crew.
00:51They're part of your crew.
00:52You should get an ability from them.
00:54But there's still strategy behind it.
00:57To use the perfect brace still requires skill-based timing.
01:00To use the double shot, you don't control when that second shot comes out.
01:05You need to make sure to aim and manage all that while still bracing and trying not to die.
01:10So it was important for us that they added but didn't subtract at all, basically.
01:15The rest of the features we mentioned, like diving anywhere and open world,
01:20those were more about giving you more player freedom, right?
01:23So they don't affect the ship experience directly, but it's more like if you want to swim to that ship,
01:28go for it.
