01:39showed you last and you can just waffle back and forth and i don't waffle okay i plant flags i

01:46a time if it's going bad dogs not about stick with it i stick with it until to see it

01:52prediction through because things can turn around this one is looking like an epic l and i'm like okay
01:57is this actually the worst bullpen in baseball their era is 411 which is 17th in the majors that's not
02:05the worst nope the walks and hits per innings pitch is 1.39 that's definitely not the worst 23rd in
02:10major league baseball 22nd sorry the batting average against is 246 that's 21st in major league
02:16baseball now they only have 10 saves only two teams have less they've blown 11 leads after the
02:22sixth inning next closest is eight then will be average is five that according to tiger's data and

02:31they're not but whatever they're in the conversation and quite frankly it was a terrible

03:11team's now a 500 team the biggest problem this baseball team is they can't hit that's the biggest
03:15problem and yes it's a problem throughout baseball where we're not seeing hitting as much as we have in
03:21the past but during this losing streak or this losing stretch i guess is the way to look at it
03:27that they've been in over the last 17 games they're just not hitting at all you know and and that's
03:35that's
03:35a major problem and they have catalysts that are out of the lineup glaber torres the absence of torres
03:41is huge because he was a guy that started off the season he may have been leading the league in
03:46walks
03:46when he got hurt i'm not sure on that but he was real close to today he was having a
03:50hell of a season
03:51before he he got hurt in terms of getting on base um and it's just been brutal now he was
03:59a 389 on
04:00base percentage guy was 130 points better than his batting average he had drawn 25 walks in 32 games
04:08he was doing a great job of trying to table set and and the tigers were a 500 baseball team
04:14at that
04:14point now he's out no carrie carpenter's out no derrick school will not not back no it's just it's
04:22it's tough going through this and yeah this team has all their their problems for all the world to
04:29see and we all know it and we're focused on it because we're here in detroit and if we were
04:33in
04:33other cities we're with a you know sub 500 baseball team probably be saying the same thing there's a lot
04:39of problems throughout baseball with with offense but the tiger is just it's it's what we're seeing out of
04:44daily basis and it's it's awful so the the tigers have blown 12 saves this year their save percentage
04:51is 45 the yeah uh they if they were an average baseball team they would have blown eight saves
05:01the mlb average is 65 so they would put about four more wins i would put them at 25 and
05:0730 and six games
05:08back and that is that is striking distance we've talked about the term striking distance what is
05:14the definition of striking distance and everybody can you can draw the line wherever you want and
05:19and it's an important for you in your own mind to know what you think of as striking distance for
05:23us
05:23to know what we think of a striking distance based upon a trade deadline with the they got to figure
05:29out which runway they're going to go down are they going to go down that we're going to go for
05:32it
05:32this year or we're going to go down the trade uh and there's more and more people booking flights
05:37on the trade everybody flight flying to a completely different coast than the go for it plane um but
05:45you know we said we're probably gonna have a couple of months here talking about these two runways
05:48one which is hang on to the best pitcher in baseball and try and you know run and they make
05:54a run at this
05:54thing and the other runway is trade is is trade the best pitcher in baseball and everybody else that you
06:01possibly can and try and repopulate for to build back quicker and better in in a shorter period of
06:07time uh and make the kind of trade that sets you up for the future and people say oh you're
06:13going to
06:13get that for a rental well it might be the best rental it's been on the market in years and
06:17you're
06:18hoping to spark a bidding war there is a lot of talk from other towns about scuba and this as
06:23there is
06:23going to be and as there should be and after games like last night there's probably more people in
06:27detroit that want to talk about moving on from tarik scuba so with that in mind uh we actually
06:33have some sound to play what is being said in other towns toronto and la specifically uh that we will
06:39play today at 1102 so um including what a package of players uh you could get back for scuba from
06:47one
06:47of those organizations so uh stick with us for that in the meantime obviously people venting about the
06:52tigers and understandably so it has been an absolute uh brutal brutal uh stretch of games here and they
07:02can't get torres and and scuba specifically back quick enough because you know there's there and i'll
07:09tell you something else last night made me miss miss parker meadows defense in center field
07:16or hobby's defense in center field yeah i don't know if hobby catches that one that was hit over
07:20veerling's head but yeah you're right between hobby was turned himself a pretty damn good center
07:25fielder he was good at it i think parker meadows catches that ball that got hit over veerling's
07:29head to dead center field and at least he has a better chance well maybe yeah you're talking about
07:36the play that ended up being a double would have been a ground rule double but veerling able to snag
07:39it out of midair like yeah yeah um maybe maybe he gets to it um but i don't think there's

07:46that the defense would be better if either center fielder were available uh veerling's fine in
07:52center field um but not a good look for veerling yesterday no and i think he's actually been better
07:58than expected this is not like i'm blaming matt veerling i'm just saying meadows is a plus player
