00:00Uganda has confirmed two new Ebola cases, bringing the total number recorded since the outbreak was detected in May to
00:077.
00:08On Monday, the health ministry said both new patients were Ugandan health workers at a private medical facility in Kampala.
00:16Authorities say the patients are receiving treatment as health officials continue efforts to contain the outbreak.
00:23It's not the first time it's happening. It's happened before. We've seen other cases like COVID come before.
00:29But personally, I trust the Ministry of Health. I trust the government because they are doing all it takes to
00:36ensure that Ebola is eradicated.
00:39The government didn't wait for the numbers to be so big to act.
00:42At least right now, I know just next to us here, the Ebola camp is here.
00:48So it was already prepared. Doctors and nurses were prepared.
00:52People have been informed and educated about the SOPs and people, churches and public places.
00:59You now go and you find people sanitizing, temperature being taken.
01:03In an effort to curb the spread of Ebola, President Yoweri Museveni has urged Ugandans to stop shaking hands,
01:10while health officials are tracing contacts linked to the new cases and urging the public to report anyone showing symptoms
01:17of the virus.
01:18I feel like they should put bans on people coming in from those highly infectious areas.
01:25Why should someone coming from Congo still be coming?
01:28Unless if they have really, you know, screened them and they have tested them and they are free.
01:34But at least they should still limit people coming in from those highly infectious areas.
01:38According to the World Health Organization, more than 900 suspected cases and 223 deaths have been reported in the Democratic
01:46Republic of Congo's 17th Ebola outbreak since 1976.
