Uganda shuts border with DR Congo in a bid to contain Ebola outbreak

Uganda shut its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo on Wednesday in a bid to contain the Ebola outbreak that has hit its neighbour, the health ministry announced.

00:01Uganda shut its border with the Democratic Republic of Kong on Wednesday in a bid to contain the outbreak of
00:08Ebola that has hit its neighbors.
00:10This is according to the Health Ministry.
00:13The East African country has recorded seven cases of the Bundibugi strain of Ebola since the outbreak was identified in
00:19the DRC on May 15.
00:22The only exceptions are for authorized Ebola response teams, the humanitarian operations, the food and cargo transportation and security.
00:39But all this still will be under strict health screening and monitoring protocols across the board.
00:51Uganda also announced a 21-day quarantine for anyone arriving from the DRC.
00:56There have been more than 220 suspected deaths and 900 suspected cases in the DRC, according to official figures.
