00:21So today we're hiking up one of Alberta's more recognizable mountains, Abraham Mountain.
00:27And this road seems to be one of never-ending side-hilling and scree treadmills.
00:34I miss traveling on skis already.
00:37You miss traveling on skis already?
00:40Yep.
00:42It's nice.
00:42Yeah, it's good.
01:24Yeah, it's good.
01:27I'm going to get to this ridge line and have the final push to the summit.
01:30I'm all layered up.
01:32Looking like another day of blasting wind on the front range of the Canadian Rockies.
02:00Alright, back to work.
02:02Turning the tiger into my dream home here.
02:05Spice rack installation underway.
02:09Looks like we're going to need more spice rack.
02:29Okay, let's go.
02:35Yeah, it works good.
02:36Swings out like that so you can watch from bed.
02:39I purposely bought one of the cheapest TVs that money can buy because I have no idea.
02:43It's going to stand up to the test of time of just all these endless washboarded back roads.
02:48There are some screw holes down here where the stands are supposed to go in.
02:52Maybe I can have a spring-loaded hook or something folded in there when I'm driving.
02:56Alright, I seriously need to move all my junk out of the bathroom.
02:58It takes five minutes to clear it all out.
03:00Every time I want to take a shower, that's no good.
03:02So I'm going to start by building some shelving right here behind the driver's seat.
03:07But I also want to have like a permanent built-in ladder right here.
03:10I stopped in Home Depot yesterday and I started gathering all the materials that I thought I would need to
03:16build this.
03:17I was just cringing at how heavy it was going to be.
03:19So I'll try my best to keep this as lightweight as possible.
04:00How much does that work?
04:04How many times do the
04:37So I'm just putting little storage copies inside the steps like so.
04:56So I'm going to pull them out, and I'll put them in here.
05:04So I'm going to pull them out.
05:08I'm going to pull them out.
05:34Here we go.
05:44ladder is all finished here looking real good now I have to get to work building
05:48just like some simple lightweight shelving behind it in this area
06:19so
06:23so
06:24so
06:34so
06:35so
06:36so
06:52so after over three months of owning this vehicle we finally have unobstructed use
06:56of the bathroom shower whenever we want to use it pretty decent victory today
07:05all right we're all masked out the spice rack situation here still haven't figured out what
07:12to do with the induction yet be nice to have it under like the the vent there there might be
07:19room
07:19for a pull-out drawer here but i don't know i don't really want to cook over here these hooks
07:23screw perfectly in to where the tv stand is supposed to go already got one over here so now i
07:29just have
07:30a big checklist of stuff that i need to look over before i drive away make sure everything's
07:34strapped down okay so next i want to build a ramp for rocco so she can get up to the
07:38bed when she
07:39wants to normally when the evening comes rocco finds a cozy spot on the couch here falls asleep then
07:44when we go to bed we try to lift her or move her she gets really angry so then we
07:48go to bed fall
07:48asleep then like come two or three a.m she starts whining and wants to come up so i have
07:52to come
07:53down like lift her up there so pull out ramp then rocco can be the master of her own universe
08:03so this piece is another mdf laminate i'm gonna replace it with something solid wood you can see
08:11how i built platforms underneath the bed a long time ago so i want to have like uh something that
08:17fit in here just slide in there then pull out and reach down to the couch something like that
08:33so
08:40so
08:59yeah we're trying out some different ideas here maybe leave a natural wood
09:04finish on some of these cupboards instead of painting them all I got a gift
09:08oh thank you yeah we tried the paint stripper but it was kind of a mess yesterday so I think
09:14we're just gonna try sanding this time okay so it's got two problems one is that it's too flimsy
09:29it can't quite hold Rocco's weight Mackenzie called it she guessed that it wasn't gonna be
09:34enough support so she preemptively bought this piece I'm gonna glue onto the bottom
09:49of this getting this measurement correct is critical or else this whole board is wasted
10:01so
10:10so
10:26this might need some adjustment
10:44it's getting late here another day is coming to a close just want to make this functional and
10:49later on I'll make it look good
10:52I still need to change the faceplate so it looks better but
10:55otherwise I've fully tweaked it in it slides a whole lot better now
10:59and also I changed around the brackets on the end I removed those two and just put
11:03screws in the edges so it grabs a whole lot better
11:07all right
11:08all right Rocco show them how it's done
11:12come here to treat
11:14come on Rocco
11:17good girl
11:27I think the true measurement of the progression of this build is just how much of a mess am I
11:31constantly pushing around behind the camera scenes and
11:34not much anymore that shoving up there really whittled it down quite a bit
11:39so yeah this spot behind the passenger seat needs some attention soon
11:42uh gonna have a board down here then fill in a wall with some tongue and groove more shelving
11:47behind there to clean up this mess and also a door on the front for two reasons one like in
11:53the winter
11:53uh less area to heat and also uh security once when I dropped my van off at Canadian Tire I
11:59came
11:59back and like some of the drawers were opening back so it'd be nice to have like a locking door
12:03on here so you know people aren't creeping around looking at stuff
12:07Mackenzie did a good job sanding these doors down stuff to do the bottom two then we're thinking
12:11put a light stain on those undecided if we'll spend the time and effort setting these five
12:17doors up here it's a lot of work a lot easier to just paint them so we might do that
12:21and then from
12:22showering over the last two weeks this mdf door just like soaking up water and falling apart so I'll
12:27have to replace this with something else as well I still have to do some work on the 12 volt
12:32electrical adding a new fuse box and then I'd like to add a diesel heater in here I'll keep the
12:37propane heater intact but it just uses so much fuel and also it's really loud so I'd like the diesel
12:43heater to be my primary source of heat through the winter and then wood stove is a really low priority
12:49right now I might not get to that until uh the fall at least but overall I've come to like
12:54the
12:54layout of this camper I don't think I'll change any of the couch any of that stuff but yeah I
12:59think
12:59that's uh about all that I have to show on this episode for now I hope you guys enjoyed this
13:04one I hope
13:05everyone is doing good and thanks to everyone over there on patreon as well for your support and
13:08help making these videos possible and I will see you in the next one
