00:45the series if the Spurs do it they can go home and clinch this thing if Oklahoma City does it

01:39that could barely score 80 points last game uh or the one that we saw throughout the season and that's
01:46the question you've got to ask yourself because it doesn't look like the San Antonio Spurs are going
01:51to have trouble scoring enough points certainly to not only stay within this number Donnie but the
01:57216 and a half the total this also feels a little bit light it feels like everyone's expecting more of
02:05first one to 100 wins there might be more points in this I think than the market realizes so I
02:13wouldn't
02:13even look at the spread I would concentrate on the total can both teams score on one another

03:53for a sale here Madison Square Garden Sports has filed a form 10 registration statement with the SEC
03:59for the excuse me proposed spinoff of its New York Rangers business and the New York Knicks here Joe
04:06what does that mean with a valuation about 13 and a half billion does that mean they want to sell
04:11the Rangers or the Knicks or how's this going to go down it just sounds like we're moving money from
04:18my left pocket to my right pocket if I'm the Dolan's here that's all that exactly correct honey that's
04:25all that feels like nobody in their right mind is getting rid of those cash cows in any way shape

04:31form he'd be out of his mind so yes this feels like yeah different company different name different
04:38liability less taxes that's exactly what this feels like you know it's funny Joe you bring up a good
04:43point here at this like if you are like the Dolan family let's call it you don't worry about money
04:48and you have the if you had to pick two to like the NBA it's like well yeah we would
04:53like to have
04:53Golden State or Los Angeles and they win championships the Knicks just put like you're you're looking at
04:59tickets and I know the Lakers are big star studded last time I checked we weren't seeing hundreds of
05:04thousands of dollars for courtside tickets like just for you to be a Knicks owner and also the Rangers the
05:08same time in Madison Square Garden where you just can't build another arena out of nowhere it's a
05:13cash cow they're never giving that up and it's probably just for tax purposes as Joe points out
05:17here now here's a story which I like New Jersey Governor Mikey Sherrill wants to bring the Nets back
05:23to Brooklyn I'm not even going to read the rest of the statement it's ridiculous as it is the Nets
05:27moved to Brooklyn brand new spanking digs here 18,000 seats and yes I understand the Rock is over there
05:34in Newark New Jersey and it's nice they're not coming back to New Jersey they left why because
05:39it felt like Joe for years they would play at the IZOT Center Brendan Byrne Arena whatever it's called
05:45it's like Continental Airlines Arena and like a thousand people would show up on a night-to-night
05:49basis and the joke always with New Jersey sports including the Devils is the Devils won Stanley Cups
05:55with a poor on the 90s Joe do you know where they have their parade in their parking lot just

06:01them in Brooklyn the New Jersey doesn't need another professional team trust me oh you know
06:07what send them back to Jersey because I don't now with the Knicks actually in the NBA finals they are

06:51Paul Blake Griffin all them they're going to eventually overtake the Lakers no they're not

07:08Conference Finals James how do you feel about this talking about Harden I feel good I want a multi-year
07:13deal to stay here in Cleveland they get whitewashed he was terrible and now Evan Sidery tweets out it's
07:18an open secret that James Harden preferred destination for multiple years now it's going back to the
07:25Rockets that's exactly what Houston needs right yeah and you know what that's exactly what the
07:32Rockets need you you need to bring James Harden back so Kevin Durant a week later is like I'm out

08:27that New York crowd um for you personally you know your dad obviously was a Knick and you came here
08:34at a time when the franchise wasn't in the greatest of spots to to see where they are now and
08:40the fact
08:41that you've kind of led the way what does that mean that for someone who kind of grew up who
08:45grew up
08:45grew up part of part of his childhood in the area to kind of be the face of this re
08:50-emergence
08:56um I think first and foremost it means a lot uh that the the belief that the organization has to
09:01me from Mr. Dolan down to Leon West uh coaching staff and obviously my teammates um
09:10it means a lot and it's something I haven't really put into perspective
09:13and thought about because uh as I said before now we're still writing our story and so um
09:20I think in due time I'll be able to answer that in full entirety but I just I like the
09:25journey that
09:25we're on right now Brunson was doing big things down in Texas Joe before taking that contract up
09:32in New York City and away they go the Knicks back in the finals here putting on for that city
09:36a lot
09:36of pressure and boy let me tell you something right now the New York Knicks end up winning this
09:41championship here does Brunson get a I guess you would have to give him a statue outside of MSG and

09:47he's the all-time best Knick in the history of that franchise surpassing guys like Patrick Ewing
09:54well he he would have you know he'll have something those guys don't Donnie and that's really
09:59how it's measured right uh how many rings do you have well those guys don't have any uh so I
10:05mean and
10:05and we already is Willis Reed's jersey in the rafter I'm guessing I mean who's uh yeah you know the
10:11Knicks
10:12history is long and it's long and it's filled with some of the game's greatest players Donnie that
10:17almost won a championship or should have if it wasn't for Michael Jordan and others so yeah this
10:24is rare air for New York Knicks uh to have this group of guys led by Brunson he pulls this
10:31off as
10:32an underdog no less yeah yeah they'll be today will they'll name a bridge after him in New York Donnie
10:38I'll tell you the the thing about the New York Knicks here it's not fluky and like maybe you
10:42might say like we're not playing the best competition but do you see what they're actually
10:46doing to the competition this isn't squeaking by this isn't winning game sevens left and right here
10:50this is a team where we like to say Joe you need breaks and you need things to happen in
10:54your favor
10:55to win a championship at any level they're going to be rested and ready for that finals playing their
11:00best basketball while the Western Conference probably has the two best teams left in the NBA
11:03but they're going through a war of attrition when needing the finals sometimes it's not about who's
11:08the better team who's the healthier team and locked in and we're gonna have those conversations
11:12Joe over the next couple weeks like rest versus rust but the one thing you say about the Knicks
11:16handling their business Joe absolutely I mean listen that where was the rust here where they hadn't
11:24played in like what nine ten days when they started this series and still managed to come back from 22
11:29down with seven minutes to go so he'll be ready uh the question is who are they playing Donnie
11:36yeah we're number two of the early line are right here on the sports grid network Donnie right side
11:40and Joe Ranieri getting your week started off in style Memorial Day had the day off yesterday time
11:45to kick it in gear which in this hour Kevin Walsh going to join us next host of game time

12:17how much time the New York Knicks have off but Joe we got one hour to get the people through

12:41with the NBA playoffs as well as the NHL playoffs urgency and it doesn't get any more urgent by the

12:47than what's going on right now with the President's Cup winner there with the Colorado Avalanche down
12:53three games to none so must watch television here I'll tell you what's must watch television right
13:00now Madison Square Garden and the boys home or away it doesn't matter the New York Knicks are getting
13:05down to business here will they ever lose again will they sweep into the finals I don't know feels
13:10like months since they lost their last playoff game to the Atlanta Hawks 130 to 93 victory over the
13:17Cavaliers in game number four which is another sweep for those New York Knicks as they advance
13:21through their first finals appearance since 1999 Joe that's how you get started on the early lineup
13:29with those Knicks you gotta love it uh it's I mean a long long time Knicks fans have been waiting
13:36for
13:36this moment and now listen you're in you got to be in it to win it right Donnie they're in
13:42it and
13:43very much like we have seen with other teams in the past more recently I think when you when you
13:49watch the Boston Celtics right you just looked at them coming out of the east and be like they're on
13:53a different level than anybody they're playing kind of feels that way with the Knicks they are just
14:00everything is going right for them this is the best basketball we have seen the Knicks play
14:05in decades uh Donnie and now will it be good enough to win a championship
14:10yeah I think a lot of it has to do with who they play yep and just stay healthy and
14:15by the way when
14:16you don't play you probably can't get hurt and that's certainly going to help out the New York
14:19Knicks by the way Joe went to a movie yesterday on a rainy Memorial Day saw the Devil Wears Prada
14:24too you know who's in that movie can you guess an athlete in that movie pertinent to this game
14:28I told you that I told you Carly Anthony Towns yep I told you that apparently a big fan they
14:34are of
14:35Knicks games yeah yeah it was that was out in the scene in the Hamptons Eric big cat here playing
14:40in the finals and away those New York Knicks go it's a Tuesday on the Sports Grid Network started

14:50Day weekend and more importantly what's going to happen in the near future it's not on your right

15:05weekend uh we visited you know the motherland as you will uh back in Queens we saw some of the

15:14wrestling anyone has ever seen in their entire life uh we we got to see it all DRS this weekend
15:22know your roles Joe Ranieri and I were talking about here and sometimes you take a look at those New
15:27York Knicks and understand the equation here it was a few weeks ago we're like Mike Brown and the
15:32Knicks dropped round one by the Hawks until they went on this epic winning streak and that looks like
15:38nobody can stop the Knicks and more importantly nobody can stay within 10 points of the New York
15:42Knicks as they wipe out the Cleveland Cavaliers 130 to 93 in a series sweep that now sets them up
15:50for
15:50like six weeks off before the NBA finals this this Knicks run has been incredible Kevin
15:56yeah it's been historic teams don't do this you don't usually sweep in the semis and the conference
16:05finals regardless of of how the chips fall usually whether your opponent is just on or you're off
16:16you drop a game you know to a team you're not supposed to drop a game to and that just
16:21has not
16:22happened for the Knicks this this whole run here since they turned it around against Atlanta it is
16:29a memorable run I think incredibly it may end up being more memorable than anything that either of
16:37the Western Conference teams end up doing even if they were to become the champion like it's it's a run
16:43you will reference right like the next time someone is just completely running rough shot in the pose
16:50and you're like they look like the 2026 Knicks like that'll be the comparison that people will make
16:57down the road so they get a world of credit here for what they've done the way they've turned things
17:05around I don't you know we don't give out coach of the year based on the postseason but if they
17:10could just
17:11create a postseason coach of the year to give Mike Brown some acknowledgement for the way he you know
17:16flip the script here I think that would be worthy they're never going to be a favorite no matter who
17:24they play here Kev but at the same time the longer this series goes uh and we got a game
17:30five tonight
17:31in the Western Conference the more it favors of I mean I'm not sure when the market might realize that
17:38I think the Knicks have a pretty good chance the way this is set up here as opposed to if
17:42oh I don't
17:43know OKC had run through San Antonio already and was up three games to none I think there's a
17:48pretty good opportunity here for the Knicks or at least advantage for us to get some value on the
17:54Knicks yeah the Knicks have been a tempting price right especially if you were not fooled by finding
18:00Cleveland um you know into thinking they could actually beat the Knicks right the Knicks were
18:05a little bit better than five to one when the final four of it all was set right and they're
18:11still I think better than plus 200 to win the NBA championship the one thing I will say and
18:18I people it's tough you when you do this because it sounds like you're taking away all the credit
18:22I'm not I just gave the Knicks all the credit right but if you do look at the opponents and
18:28you
18:28compare it to what waits out west you cannot overstate that gap the Atlanta Hawks were nothing
18:36but a cast of unproven characters the 76ers were off of a game seven and didn't even have him bead
18:42for all of the games and clearly he wasn't himself Cleveland was off of multiple game sevens and by the
18:50way the Knicks the three seed had home court in the conference finals that's not supposed to happen
18:56a 60 win basketball team regardless awaits them who will have home court advantage there's rest in
19:04between it's the way the NBA does it I think even if it went seven you'll get like three days
19:08off yeah
19:09whether being Oklahoma City or San Antonio so the Knicks have set themselves up absolutely
19:16brilliantly but now we got we went from a place where people were saying that the NBA finals were the
19:23Western Conference finals which was ridiculous and dismissive I think we're I don't we can't course
19:28correct too much though like this is a huge step up for the Knicks when they play either Oklahoma City
19:34or San Antonio let me put a bow in the series too because the Knicks obviously were the better team
19:39than the Cavaliers and it just stems from one game that you had assuredly in your back pocket for the
19:43Cavaliers they lost that game and they could never reclaim back but Kevin like let's call it two weeks
19:48ago before the series even started James Harden oh real happy in Cleveland and Evan Sider with a tweet
19:54this one that goes hey we're hearing from the camp for James Harden he doesn't want a multi-year deal
19:58with Cleveland he just wants to go back to Houston at this point man it's just crazy like the highest
20:03payroll in the NBA is not the New York Knicks who just played the Cleveland Cavaliers it's the
20:08Cavaliers what do we talk about with James Harden now hey not my fault that's never James's fault
20:13always loves the bounce and also the heck does Houston want with the guy again yeah well I mean
20:18Houston could probably use him again as long as we are being realistic we I feel like I've talked
20:26about this all playoffs like let's stop pretending James Harden just because we were asked or wondering
20:33hey can LeBron go on a deep run at 37 or Steph Curry or Kevin Wright that's not James Harden
20:38he has
20:39past his prime he has a high regular season floor he is not in their class right LeBron is LeBron
20:46forget that let's not do Steph Curry is a top at worst 15 player in leagues history right Durant is
20:52a top at worst 20 player in league history Harden is not that so Harden going to Houston and being

21:00part of the team it's again it's kind of what he was supposed to do in Cleveland and then you

21:04around you're like this is all pathetic it includes Harden right but there's also guys that are supposed
21:10to be in their prime who are supposed to make things easier and what have you I'm just interested
21:17if Cleveland comes they keep trying to play this game we're like we don't need LeBron brother let me

21:31Cleveland Cavaliers need once again their only saving grace is that LeBron was born in Akron

23:44McCain and the bench and they didn't do all that well in the first game but uh listen I mean
23:50the time is now if you are the Spurs Donnie I've been a big Spurs supporter here heading into the
23:56postseason I thought they had what it took uh to take down the big favorite OKC they're not getting
24:02healthier OKC and that could be their downfall prediction market's edge on the early line for a
24:09Tuesday here late May almost into June the official start of the summer season some might
24:14say is post-memorial day and away we go Joe so our job over this next half hour get the
24:19people
24:20caught up on the information they need to know investing in different markets as opposed to
24:24just throwing out there some tickets get in get out get paid Joe it's time to get after it today
24:29and that's what it's all about here Donnie and we got ourselves uh plenty to be excited about here

25:14this game yes contract sitting at 63 cents which means a hundred dollar investment on OKC tonight to
25:20win this basketball game that plays out at 159 but they are a little bit injured in this one and
25:26if
25:26you think the Spurs can pull off the upset outright a $100 investment Joe pays back 264
25:33well we've already seen the line drop Donnie four four and a half are in the market now on the

25:38that no AJ Mitchell no Jalen Williams not that either of those guys was ever going to be a hundred

25:45or likely play a lot even if they did give it a go which means there's you're going to have

26:37team which is San Antonio they can close out in game number six if you get a home team win

27:11like kind of on that though like when you took the job obviously part of it was you you have

27:22do you feel doing this now do you feel validated at all personally
27:28I never never really thought about it like that I mean
27:32you know again our business is funny my previous job supposedly took him to a point that was higher and
27:40you know it didn't work out so I you know again I I I truly felt that this team
27:48was an NBA finals team I I thought I thought we had a true opportunity because some jobs you
27:54take you're like OK we can get better we have a chance to make the playoffs right now
27:58but this one I felt we legitimately had a chance if we could if we could help them figure it
28:05out the
28:06players can stay together during the process especially when we hit adversity because we hit
28:10adversity at different times during the season not just us as a whole group but even some guys
28:16individually including myself and so you know I did have that belief from day one um I didn't know how
28:24it was going to turn out but we're here and there's a lot of people to thank because of it
28:29but
28:29it starts with the players I'll turn a positive though the we took a step we took a step
28:35um you know this is kind of how this works you have to you have to keep climbing we are
28:41going in

29:16um so um I'm going to kind of lean on that um and again we all know there's another you

29:24another two steps really you got to take if you you know that's that's the ultimate goal
29:29next off to Wednesday June 3rd as they await their opponent here in the NBA finals which also the
29:34New York Knicks on the calcium marketplace up 14 percent with a chance to win an NBA championship now
29:40coming in at 30 percent however Oklahoma City Thunder currently sit as the favorites at a 46 percent
29:46chance to be the champions of the NDA for this year
