00:00Good game tonight in the Association.
00:02The Denver Nuggets on the road to take on OKC.
00:05If you look at the standings, there's a 10-and-a-half game gap between these two teams.
00:09Overnight, this line opened up at 8 at FanDuel.
00:12Most outlets now showing 7, even some, Joe.
00:156-and-a-halves in the marketplace still is a favorite for OKC.
00:18The total of this game sits at 2-30-and-a-half.
00:21Nuggets, Thunder, spread line for you, Joe, is what?
00:25There was plenty of fireworks going on the last time these two teams just met, Donnie, right?
00:31I mean, all sorts of pushing and shoving.
00:33The Joker going after Lou Dort for trying to trip him and all this.
00:37These two teams do not like one another.
00:40Problem is, I do not like what I have seen from the Denver Nuggets here,
00:45who are just on the struggle bus right now here.
00:48Hopefully, they're going to get Aaron Gordon back.
00:51He's going to get the rust off, and they will go back to being the Nuggets of old.
00:57But right now, it's kind of hard to trust them.
00:59But at the same time, I don't like laying this many points with the Oklahoma City Thunder,
01:04who they, too, have had some injury concerns, Donnie.
01:07So it's like they're just trying to, you know, buy enough time, get to the postseason,
01:12and that's where it will all be decided.
01:15But it feels like a lot of points to me here tonight.
01:18It feels like maybe the Nuggets, I don't know that they win,
01:20but I think they can keep it within this number.
01:23Five games in the association tonight.
01:26The game that's going to start the latest here is the one we're going to talk about now, Joe.
01:2910 p.m. Eastern, the New York Knicks out in Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
01:34Looks like the Clippers are probably going to be a playing team.
01:36Knicks still jockeying for one of those top seeds in the East.
01:39The Knicks overnight, Joe, were minus one-and-a-half point favorite.
01:42They now sit at minus two-and-a-half as a favorite, and the total listed at 220-and-a
01:47-half.
01:48Knicks on the West Coast, Joe, what's the spread line tonight we can look at?
01:51Yeah, we saw a lot of money coming on the Lakers yesterday against the Knicks,
01:56and it was like a noon start out West, I think.
01:58It was an early start out there.
02:01I didn't see it, but again, the Knicks looked very sluggish out there.
02:06I mean, they didn't even score 100 points.
02:08They lost 110-97, so they've got the second of a back-to-back here now,
02:13taking on the Clippers a little further on down the road now.
02:17Is this still a staple set?
02:19Now, well, you know where it is.
02:21And now you've got a Clippers team that, with Kawhi Leonard, with Darius Garland, with Mithurn,
02:28this is a very dangerous Clippers team here, one that I like a lot.
02:33Can the Knicks bounce back?
02:35Sure.
02:35Do I trust them to do it against Kawhi and company?
02:38I don't know about that.
02:39I think the Clippers have the edge here, and I like them to get it done as a home dog.
02:45Joe, I feel like the NBA is going to get left a little behind over the next couple weeks here,
02:49as college basketball is going to take center stage.
02:51And as we talked about tomorrow, once the big boys,
02:53and we talk about those major conferences get underway,
02:55it's so fun to have that appetizer starting at 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock in the afternoon
02:59as they try to find their conference championships in the tournaments.
03:03And then we have Selection Sunday, this Sunday, and away we go into the tournament that starts
03:08in Dayton with the first four.
03:09But before we get there, Joe, we do have some NBA action to talk about.
03:13And how about this?
03:14We were wondering what was wrong with Porzingis.
03:17Let's hear about it from Porzingis himself.
03:19How have the last few days been like, and how did you kind of know you would be ready to
03:24go tonight?
03:25Yeah, I felt like my body's coming back to where I need to be.
03:32Just got, honestly, just one workout in and felt pretty decent.
03:36So I just want to, you know, get up, like, especially getting traded somewhere else.
03:41Like, I wanted to get out there as soon as possible.
03:44And honestly, sitting out a couple games was, like, stinging me a little bit, you know,
03:49but today was okay.
03:52High sleep, a little heavy, and shots a little bit not in a good rhythm yet,
03:58and missing some free throws and all that.
04:03But, you know, I'm going to build from this game,
04:05and I think I'll be looking better and better with each game.
04:08How would you describe what you kind of went through the last couple weeks
04:11and, you know, I guess why you weren't able to be out there?
04:14Yeah, yeah, it's just some health stuff a little bit.
04:19And I believe I will be healthy now, honestly.
04:22This is what I really feel.
04:24Not to sell anything, because obviously I've had been in and out and out again.
04:29But this time I really feel that this is it.
04:32And, yeah, finally getting out there, like, healthy.
04:36You know, I was, like, playing through this, this.
04:38I think now this will be, obviously, it's only 20 games left or so,
04:42but in the regular season.
04:44So, but I want to, you know, catch a really good rhythm
04:47and then see if we can do something in the postseason.
04:51So I'm excited for the opportunity, excited to play with these guys
04:56and look forward to, yeah, getting in top shape and looking really good.
05:02Here we go.
05:03Porzingis talks about it, Joe.
05:05Hoping to come back and help those Golden State Warriors
05:07because they're going to need some help once they hit the playoffs here.
05:09That old-timers crew, maybe Porzingis can be
05:12one of those benefits here that they have.
05:15Yeah, I would have asked them, Donnie.
05:17Hey, Chris, just curious.
05:20In what year was the last time you were healthy?
05:23I'm just curious, because now you feel like you're healthy.
05:26You feel like, when was the last time we actually had you healthy here?
05:31Because as far as I'm concerned, Donnie,
05:34since he's been in the league with the Knicks and on,
05:36has he ever been healthy?
05:38Has there ever been a point where Porzingis has been like,
05:41oh, yes, he is.
05:43No, he's not.
05:44And as good as he could be, health has always been an issue for him,
05:50and it will continue to be an issue for him, unfortunately.
05:53And by the way, we talk about the NBA players, and this is also in life itself.
05:57There are never any excuses of why you got a DUI.
06:00But let's just say, you know, I just don't have money to get an Uber tonight,
06:03and then I got an Uber back tomorrow, and I park my car in a tough spot,
06:06and I got to get to work.
06:07Maybe I'll drive home.
06:08I think I only had two drinks here.
06:10Meanwhile, you had five.
06:11Like, Dylan Brooks got arrested for a DUI, which is always amazing to me.
06:15Like, number one, you probably have an entourage.
06:16But number two, you have more money than anybody here.
06:19It's like, you know what?
06:19I'm going to go out tonight and party or go to a bar and have some drinks.
06:22Call an Uber.
06:23Call a service.
06:24Get a limousine to take you there.
06:26Or if you drove your car to that place, pick up the phone.
06:30Get an Uber.
06:31Call one of your friends to come pick you up.
06:33Why would you risk yourself, your contract, and other people on the highway?
06:37The arrest occurred there in the hours after the 105-103 loss to the Bulls.
06:41No excuses here, Joe.
06:43In which he did not play because he broke his wrist and had surgery on it.
06:48So, you know, a couple of those natty lights with a couple of Viking in there, Donnie.
06:53And next thing you know, we're getting, whoo, Maricopa County Jail.
06:57Here we come.
06:58Like, I don't know what you're doing, dude.
07:00Makes no sense that you're even getting behind a wheel.
07:04Just like you said, get a driver.
07:07Like, I never understood that, man.
07:08If I could never drive again, Donnie, just pick me.
07:12I'm good to go.
07:13I'll just get in the backseat.
07:14I'm good to go.
07:14Well, Jamal Murray listed his day-to-day.
07:17And by the way, if you've been watching the Nuggets this year, do they ever get to play together?
07:21Ball Don't Lie tweets out the Nuggets' original starting lineup was on the floor for only five minutes
07:25and seven seconds before Jamal Murray rolled his ankle.
07:29The last time that group played together, November 12th, Joe.
07:32Jeez.
07:34It's just why you can't have nice things, Donnie, in Denver.
07:38Because as soon as you finally get Aaron Gordon back, you know, Peyton Watson's on his way back.
07:43And what happens?
07:44Twisting the ankle there for Jamal Murray.
07:46Now we're shorthanded again.
07:47It's unreal.
07:48Joe, Tatum's back on the court.
07:50Answer me this.
07:51Is Boston going to be a problem come playoff time now?
07:55In the East, I don't think it matters versus the West.
08:01How about that?
08:02Tatum and the Celtics looking to get another title.
08:05We'll find out.
08:06But we'll be right back for hour number two after this short break.
08:09Oh, yeah.
08:10It's the early line getting heated up on a Monday.
08:12Post-daylight saving Sunday.
08:14Conference tournament action this week.
08:16The NBA in full swing.
08:17So many things to be thankful for.
08:20Donnie Wright's side and Joe Ranieri.
08:22And we welcome in Kevin Walsh from the Borough of Queens.
08:25Usually voted the last borough ranking in New York City.
08:29Each and every year, Kevin.
08:30First, what do you have to say to that?
08:32Where's Queens sit here?
08:33Is it the Bronx up top?
08:34Who is it?
08:35Who doesn't have flow?
08:35I mean, it's Queens through my lens.
08:38I can't trust anything you say.
08:41And I learned that.
08:43So I don't have to be too upset.
08:45I don't have to be like, what rankings are you referring to?
08:47The Donnie rankings that he made up in his head.
08:50But good morning.
08:51I'm excited to be here.
08:53There we go.
08:53First time I ever met Kevin took me right to Times Square here.
08:56I was like, this is where it is.
08:57Yep, this is where it all goes down at this point right now.
09:00Yes, guys, man.
09:01Let's have some fun.
09:02I mean, look, we always got to get the shots out right away at this point right now.
09:05But Kevin, the Denver Nuggets, who seemingly can't have a starting lineup that gets to play
09:10on a night-to-night basis.
09:11We just previewed and said it's like the first time since like November the 12th.
09:14They played like five minutes together.
09:16They're going to take on OKC tonight.
09:17A 10-and-a-half game gap between these two.
09:20So you start to jockey for positions before the playoffs here.
09:23But the Nuggets are getting around seven points tonight.
09:26Should be a good marquee game.
09:27What do you think of Nuggets and the Thunder tonight?
09:29Yeah, so this is a really interesting spot because they did play not too long ago.
09:35It was Shea's first game back.
09:37And a closing number of about six-and-a-half was decided by six but in overtime.
09:43Denver came out.
09:44They really set the tone.
09:45And OKC had to claw back in order to make this a competitive game.
09:51But as you guys mentioned, we always have to peel through the injury reports here.
09:56And for Denver, we don't know if Jamal Murray is going to play.
10:01Murray suffered what looked like a pretty nasty ankle injury against the New York Knicks.
10:07That's not why Denver lost that game by 1,000 points.
10:10But it certainly didn't help in their efforts.
10:13For Oklahoma City, though, who have been rolling, they've won every single game since SGA has come back,
10:21they are going to be out Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren's questionable.
10:27If there's no Jamal Murray and two of their three main bigs, really their two main bigs, are out,
10:35I understand it could read chalky.
10:38How are we not betting Nikola Jokic through any and all numbers?
10:42It just feels like this sets up for a game where the only way Jokic goes under
10:50is the Thunder win by 25 points and he doesn't see the floor in the fourth quarter.
10:59That would be the hesitation for me right now.
11:01But the usage for Joker and just the matchup here, even Caruso's injured, right, guys,
11:08who gave Jokic a little bit of issues last year in the postseason.
11:13Yeah, sounds like, just like, bet the props there.
11:16I'm wondering if there's a prop, too, Kev, on how many technicals will be dished out here
11:20in this game here tonight.
11:22I'm looking forward to seeing Lou Dort try to play some defense again here tonight on them.
11:29But, listen, Denver's got some issues here.
11:32This isn't the Denver of old.
11:34It feels like they just kind of want to get to the postseason and get everyone healthy and go from
11:40there.
11:40That's what veteran teams do.
11:42But, my goodness, I mean, the lack of defense with this team makes it hard to look at him.
11:47No matter, he can drop 50, but you don't have Murray and you don't have any defense.
11:51That's the problem.
11:52Yeah, and the problem is this Nuggets team can't really sit on their hands and get help.
11:59First of all, every time they think they're getting – Aaron Gordon comes back in that game against the Knicks,
12:04and the tradeoff then is Jamal Murray gets injured, right?
12:07So, they can't seemingly find any type of consistency in a starting lineup.
12:12And if you look right now, how negative do we discuss the Lakers?
12:18And I'm not saying it's not without good reason, right?
12:20But all of a sudden, the Lakers and the Nuggets have the exact same record, right?
12:26This is a Denver team who, at this moment, feels – I mean, could they be playing in the play
12:32-in if these injuries continue?
12:34And just one, the wear and tear that that brings is a lot, but also, if you end up in
12:42the play-in,
12:43that means you're playing either Oklahoma City or San Antonio.
12:46And both of those teams would be livid if a round one matchup somehow involved Nikola Jokic and the Denver
12:52Nuggets.
12:53But they'd still be favorites over the Denver Nuggets.
12:56So, it's a very odd spot we find ourselves with, considering Denver has spent almost this entire season
13:03booked as the second-best team in terms of the NBA's championship market.
13:08For me, I'm going to go to the association tonight.
13:10And instead of taking a public fade at this point right now, Joe,
13:13I'm actually going to use a little common sense for this one.
13:15The Cleveland Cavaliers played yesterday in a game against the Boston Celtics and lost that game.
13:20They're on a back-to-back.
13:21That was an emotional game because you want to try to take down the Celtics.
13:24But the Philadelphia 76ers, Joe, on the road, getting 11.5 points, that's not where I'm going here.
13:28I don't know who's – Maxie's hurt.
13:30VJ Edcombe has the back injury now.
13:32No Joel Embiid, Paul George on suspension.
13:34I don't know if the Sixers can win this game, but who is scoring in this game tonight, Joe?
13:392-27.5 is the total?
13:40I'm going under that total tonight, Joe.
13:43How about that, people?
13:452-0 for the boys on a Monday is how we're going to get down.
13:48Let's get into some predictive markets coming up next, people.
13:51We'll see you just after the break.
13:53Let's flip it over to the association tonight.
13:55And maybe the game of the night.
13:56The Denver Nuggets on the road to take on OKC.
13:59If we line this game up, sure, it's a favorite here for Oklahoma City as the home team.
14:03And they are the number one seed currently in the Western Conference.
14:0570% chance on the money line for them to win this game, Joe.
14:09Denver trading at 30%.
14:10So if you put that into perspective, you think Denver pulls the upset, Joe?
14:14$100 investment pays back $334.
14:17But if you're looking for the spread, 5.5 is listed here for OKC, trading at 56%.
14:23So $100 investment there pays back $179, Joe.
14:27OKC at home to take on Denver tonight.
14:31Yeah, this is going to be interesting.
14:33Likely, no Jamal Murray here for Denver.
14:37He is listed as questionable.
14:38He did twist that ankle there in the last game.
14:42So we'll keep an eye on that.
14:45But Aaron Gordon apparently was able to, you know, shake off the rust here outside of him.
14:50And, you know, it's they should be OK to make this at least competitive.
14:56Because anytime you have the Joker, good luck.
14:59You're going to have an opportunity.
15:00But I don't trust them defensively to get enough stops here.
15:05Aaron Gordon is back.
15:06But again, I still think minutes wise, you're not going to get 35, 37 minutes from a guy that
15:11hadn't played the last two months.
15:13So I think OKC has the edge.
15:16I also think the over is a pretty good look here, too.
15:21OKC knows they can't take their foot off the gas, Donnie.
15:24And we're thinking about points tonight.
15:25Maybe no Jamal Murray.
15:26Obviously, Nicole Yoke gets 30 plus points tonight.
15:29Trading at a clip of 40% here.
15:31That's $100 investment.
15:32Pays back $250 to pick up some of that slack.
15:35Let's hit New York.
15:36The Knicks are in town to face the Los Angeles Clippers here.
15:39New York to win this game outright.
15:4054% chance.
15:42The Clippers at a 46% chance tonight, Joe.
15:45New York on the West Coast here.
15:46What are we thinking between the Knicks and the Clippers?
15:49Yeah, well, the Clippers want to get to 500 in a big way.
15:53The Knicks now second of a back-to-back.
15:55I think third game at four nights.
15:57Not a great spot here for them on this West Coast trip.
16:01I like Kawhi and company at home here, man.
16:04I think they have a pretty good edge.
16:08And you give me Darius Garland, Kawhi Leonard now, Mithurin.
16:12They want to make the postseason here.
16:15I think the Knicks, tough spot for them here tonight in L.A.
16:18I think the Knicks, tough spot for them here tonight in L.A.
16:18I think the Knicks, tough spot for them here tonight in L.A.
16:18I think the Knicks, tough spot for them here tonight in L.A.
16:18I think the Knicks, tough spot for them here tonight in L.A.
